Roboticized Masters

The Roboticized Masters are the result of a collaboration between Dr. Eggman and Dr. Wily as a means to create minions who could travel freely between their respective dimensions. Using Dr. Eggman's Roboticization process, they transformed several of Sonic's friends and allies into a robots that vaguely resembled their organic forms, though with several Robot Master-esque features based on Dr. Wily's designs.

Tropes pertaining to the group as a whole:

  • Beat the Curse Out of Him: The only way to free the Roboticized Masters requires hitting them with Mega Man's Charge Shot and Sonic's Spin Dash. Later on, this process is combined into hitting them with Mega Man's Spin Dash Blast, resulting in their De-Roboticization.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy
  • Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors: Just like in the Mega Man series, one Robot(icized) Master is weak to another's weapon.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Like all standard Robot Masters, they have a serial number, beginning with EWN ("Eggman Wily Number").
  • Unwilling Roboticization: Every single one of them are subject to this.

    EWN- 000 Tails Man

After he was kidnapped by Metal Sonic and Bass, Tails the first to be subjected the Doctors' upgraded Roboticization process, making him the first Roboticized Master created. Tails Man was later tasked with monitoring Mega Man's battle with Sonic and commanded to attack them when they began to talk things out. He was also the first of Roboticized Masters to be De-Roboticized by the Blue Duo.

His main weapon is the "Tail Wind".


  • Blow You Away: By converting his hands into cannons, Tails Man can unleash burst of wind known as "Tails Wind".
  • Flight: Like his organic self, Tails Man can fly, only with spinning rotors and engines instead of his tails.

    EWN- 001 Rose Woman

Amy Rose was one of Sonic's many friends who were kidnapped and subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process. She was the eighth Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

Her main weapon is the "Piko Hammer".


  • Race Against the Clock: She along with Knuckles Man initiated their self destruct sequences during their battle against the two heroes, thankfully they were both De-Roboticized before the count down ended.

Knuckles the Echidna was one of Sonic's many friends who were captured and subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process. He was the ninth Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

His main weapon is "Sharp Knuckle".


  • Super-Strength: Like his organic self, Knuckles Man is incredibly strong.
  • Power Fist: Knuckles Man's Sharp Knuckle, a spike-enhanced super punch that is even capable of deflecting certain attacks.
  • Race Against the Clock: He along with Rose Woman initiated their self destruct sequences during their battle against the two heroes, thankfully they were both De-Roboticized before the count down ended.

    EWN-003: Shadow Man

Like many of Sonic's allies, Shadow the Hedgehog was captured and subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process. He was tasked with stealing a Chaos Emerald from the bank alongside Rose Woman, Knuckles Man, and Tails Man, and was later partnered up with the other Shadow Man to defeat the heroes. He was the fifth Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

His main weapon is the "Chaos Cannon".


  • Arm Cannon: His right arm is a cannon that fires his Chaos Cannon attack.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Shadow Man's very first appearance involved him stealing a Chaos Emerald from the bank, sound familiar?
    • Also, this wasn't the first "Shadow Man" in the Mega Man universe!
    • After being De-Roboticized, Shadow Man's core was shown to have the same icon from his own game.
  • The Paralyzer: Shadow Man's Chaos Cannon creates time-freezing bubbles that hold the target in place, not unlike his organic form's Chaos Control.

    EWN-004: Silver Man

After being captured by Copy Bot and subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process, Silver Man was partnered up with Blaze Woman to retrieve one of the Chaos Emeralds, after which they were sent to defeat the heroes. He was the sixth Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

His main weapon is the "Psycho Burst".


  • Mind over Matter: Silver Man's Psycho Burst stuns and restrains his target utilizing his psychic powers.
  • Mythology Gag: Him being partnered with Blaze Woman is most likely a reference to their friendship in Sonic '06.

    EWN-005: Blaze Woman

After being captured and subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process, Blaze Woman was partnered up with Silver Man to retrieve one of the Chaos Emeralds, after which they were sent to defeat the heroes. She was the seventh Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

Her main weapon is the "Fire Tornado".


  • Kill It with Fire: Blaze Woman's Fire Tornado shoots a spiraling blast of flame at her target.
  • Mythology Gag: Her being partnered with Silver man is most likely a reference to their friendship in Sonic '06.
  • Playing with Fire: Her natural ability.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Her wrists have red bands with spikes, as do her lower legs.

    EWN- 006 Charmy Man

After the Chaotix trio were captured by the Copybot, they were subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process, with Charmy Bee becoming Charmy Man. The trio were later sent after the Blue Heroes, Charmy Man was defeated by Vector Man's Acoustic Blaster and was the third Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

His main weapon is the "Rapid Stinger".


  • Arm Cannon: His arms transform into launchers when using his Rapid Stinger attack.
  • Flight: Like his organic self,Charmy Man is capable of flight, only using a pair of turbine engines on his back instead of his organic wings.
  • Mythology Gag: While fighting him, Sonic suggests that Charmy Man be called "Blast-" before being cut off. This was a reference to the Mega Man enemy Blast Hornet.
  • Spike Shooter: Charmy Man's Rapid Stinger attack fires a rapid burst of metallic needles.

After the Chaotix trio were captured by the Copybot, they were subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process, with Espio becoming Espio Man. The trio were later sent after the Blue Heroes, Espio Man was the fourth Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

His main weapon is the "Chroma Camo".


  • Mythology Gag:
    • Chroma Camo is the name of Espio's special ability in Sonic Rivals 2.
    • While fighting him, Sonic suggests that Espio Man be called "Sting-" before being cut off. This was a reference to the Mega Man enemy Sting Chameleon.
  • Visible Invisibility: Espio Man's Chroma Camo gives him a type 1 version of this, rendering the user invisible to others.

After the Chaotix trio were captured by the Copybot, they were subjected to the Doctors' Roboticization process, with Vector becoming Vector Man. The trio were later sent after the Blue Heroes, Vector Man was the second Roboticized Master to be De-Roboticized.

His main weapon is the "Acoustic Blaster".


  • Loud of War: Vector Man's Acoustic Blaster is a powerful sound-based cannon that fires a blast in the shape of a musical note.
  • Mythology Gag: When fighting him, Sonic said the name made him think of a "trash collector." Vectorman was a two game series on the Sega Genesis that debuted in 1995, the same year as Vector the Crocodile's debut game, though Vector as a character dates back to development of the first Sonic game. The titular Vectorman was a green robot in a series designed to clean up Earth after humans left the planet uninhabitable.

    EWN- 009 Rouge Woman

After a failed attempt to sabotage the Wily Egg she was captured and transformed into Rouge Woman. She would then join the Robot Master Army in attacking Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man, and their various allies for a short time before being defeated. Making Rouge Woman was the final Roboticized Master created as well as the final one to be De-Roboticized.

Her main weapon is the "Black Wave".


  • Arm Cannon: Her left arm can transform into a cannon to fire her Black Wave attack.
  • Energy Ring Attack: Her "Black Wave" attack is a pink energy orb that produces growing and disappearing purple rings as it moves forward.
  • Flight: Like her organic self, she can fly using her wings.
  • Mythology Gag: Her Black Wave attack is named after her attack the 2-Player mode of Sonic Adventure 2.
  • The Paralyzer: Her "Black Wave" attack fires as pink orb with purple rings that can stun a foe for a few seconds.

A combination of Chaos and the Yellow Devil.

  • Brainwashed and Crazy: The effect of plugging a Devil Core into Chaos.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Took a lot of punishment from Mega Man and Sonic and dished back even more. It took Duo stepping in to finally take him down.
  • Magitek: The Chaos Devil is a "Fusion of Magic and Machine".
