Harry Potter/The Boy Who Lived/The Last Dragonborn

The protagonist of the eponymous series, taken to Nirn on Akatosh's behest and made into the Last Dragonborn when the True Dragonborn was kille by the Thalmor. Initially insecure about his role , Harry slowly grows into it with the help of Balgruf, the Greybeards and the Companions.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Dawnbreaker, Harry's primary weapon, is a Daedric Artifact and can thus cut through anything... including dragon scales.
  • Berserk Button: Do not threaten anything which Harry holds dear, or his dovahsil - his dragon soul - will lash out. Ulfric learns this the hard way, but thanks to that, he agrees to leave Whiterun alone as long as the Empire does the same.
    • Harry's dovahsil, the draconic part of his soul, has the same urge to destroy and dominate as the other dragons. It is merely tempered by his human half. Getting significantly in his way, threatening what he holds dear or threatening his life will bring it out fast.
Balgruuf: Don't threaten something a dragon treasures, even if he looks like a teenager.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: As in the books, Harry is kind and caring, develops powerful Restoration magic and often acts as support during group fights. He is also the Dragonborn. Teenager or not, angering him is a bad idea, as Ulfric and the Skinner learn the hard way.
  • Chef of Iron: as the Dragonborn, Harry is naturally pretty tough. Several chapters also display him cooking for himself or others, while noting that the skill come from having to cook for the Dursleys.
  • The Chosen One: Well, more like The Unchosen One - The True Dragonborn was intended to be The Chosen One, but after they were killed in a Thalmor attack... Well, Harry is actually Akatosh's backup plan to stop Alduin, and he isn't too happy about it.
  • Combat Pragmatist: if it looks like he can't defeat a foe in a straight fight, Harry has no problem ambushing them and shooting them In the Back with the Bow of the Hunted.
  • Did You Just Flip Off the World-Eater?: Harry ends up verbally challenging Alduin at Kynesgrove despite being scared of him. Alduin sics Sahloknir on him as a result.
    • He later answers Harkon calling him a prey by asking him what creature calls dragons its prey, all the while channeling Akatosh. Harkon doesn't quite gets the message, but he does acknowledge Harry's nature as the God of Time's paladin.
  • Did You Just Scam Cthulhu?: At the end of "A Daedra's Best Friend", Harry uses Clavicus Vile's weakened state to make off with the Rueful Axe and Barbas, effectively scamming the Vile out of his deal. Bonus point for Clavicus Vile being the Daedric Prince of Wishes and Bargains - Harry literally beat a Daedric Prince at his own game.
  • Eye Color Change: When Akatosh takes control of him, Harry's eyes shift to monochromatic purple.
  • Faking Amnesia: Since he can't really say he comes from another world, Harry has to fake being amnesiac, "recovering" his past as he learns more about Tamriel. As of the start of the Home Arc, Harry seemingly is 'cured' of it as he finally comes up with a convincing backstory.
    • Fake Nationality: In-Universe, people tend to think Harry is a Breton for his magic ability, and he decides to roll with it and claim his father was one — but his mother was a Nord for his rejection by his maternal relatives. Also...
  • Going Native: Hinted with Harry who basically let Balgruuf adopt him and build a house for him on Lakeview. Since he had a pretty raw deal on Earth, it's rather understandable.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Harry mostly wears a leather armour, one of the earliest available armours in-game. He later upgrades it to mithril chainmail.
  • Heroic Red Ring of Death: After the ambush at Valtheim, Harry suffers from "Battle Frenzy" and must spend a week in bed to recover.
  • Humble Hero: Harry, as per canon. However, it is even more pronounced here in that, more than on Earth, people actually reward Harry, something he isn't used to and so has trouble accepting. He even notes he hates talking about his feats and prefers others do it. People at Elisif's court point this is one thing he doesn't share with the Nords.
    • I'm Not a Hero, I'm...: In-keeping his status as the above, Harry doesn't believe himself worthy of being called the Dragonborn… At least, not yet.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Thanks to the mithril chainmail Tullius gave him, Harry gains this looks, which the general notes fits him better than that of a Barbarian Hero the Nords prefer.
  • Magic Knight and Mage Marksman: Harry is naturally magic-inclined and learns to use both the bow and the sword. Naturally, Bow and Sword in Accord applies.
  • Mundane Utility: Harry uses his Akatosh-enchanted map to teleport to the hot springs south of Windhelm and get himself a warm bath. He also uses offensive spells like Fire and Ice to heal people by numbing a limb or cautherizing a wound, or even make water.
  • No-Respect Guy: Harry when he's on Earth. For all his efforts and troubles fighting Voldemort, the Wizarding World only rewards him with a pat on the head before sending him back to his abusive relatives, or outright turns against him at a whim. That's why the boy was so shocked by Skyrim: people were giving him true gratitude over his exploits.
  • The Paladin: Harry is technically this to Akatosh. Between having been chosen by him, possessing a fragment of his soul in his head and furthering his cause of stopping Alduin and protecting Skyrim from the dragons and other threats while carrying his Amulet, at least one person asks him if he serves the God of Time - and Harry answers positively. On the other hand, between the abilities that come with being the Dragonborn, Akatosh has given Harry a certain number of boons. His Amulet doubles as a Warp Whistle, he always knows what time it is and, whenever he needs to know past events, he can trust his patron to show him. The two also directly communicate in dreams, and Akatosh demonstrates in Interlude: Hogwarts the ability to possess Harry at will, though Harry remains conscious. Eventually, Harkon outright calls him one, and Serena agrees.
  • Tender Tears: Crossing with Cry into Chest. Harry cries in Lydia's arms after Balgruuf allows him to stay permanently in Dragonsreach - effectively making the fort his home.
  • The World Is Just Awesome: One of the reasons Harry likes Skyrim, aside from the adults actually caring for him. The land is gorgeous.
  • Trapped in Another World: The "trapped" part is up for debate, but the fact remains Harry was Isekai'ed to Skyrim on a divine mission from Akatosh. Dumbledore and the Heads of House do manage to open a portal between Earth and Nirn but, by that time, Harry has begun Going Native.
  • The Unchosen One: Harry feels a bit of an impostor since he's only filling the hole intended for the True Dragonborn. However, Paarthunax tells him about Mantling — when someone manages to fool the universe into believing they're a Hero, and for all intents and matters become the Hero. So Harry's power being artificial and his status as a "substitute" don't matter: if he can fulfill the Last Dragonborn's prophesied duty by defeating Alduin, he is the Last Dragonborn.
  • Willing Channeler: Harry can theoretically be this to Akatosh, now the Dragon-God demonstrated the ability to possess him. Sure, the first time, Akatosh acted by surprise but, given the two get along well, Harry would have probably agreed if Akatosh had taken the time to ask.
