Miss Margarite/Kaoruko Rokugou
Her ability is to bend straight objects.
- Retired Badass: She’s kept to herself ever since retiring, but she still keeps herself in shape and is strong in a fight.
- The Mentor: She is one of the most famous instructors from the Inspection Department, with Hana Gekokujou being one of her students.
- The Stoic: Even in the worst sceneries, Margarite always keeps her calm.
- Not So Stoic: Unless she is around Touta, off course.
- Tragic Keepsake: Keeps Maiya's iron staff after her death.
- Worthy Opponent: To Meier.
Dreamy☆Chelsea/Chie Yumeno
A magical girl hired by Sheperdspie. She has been a magical girl for nearly 30 years, but due to her wanting to focus on being a magical girl, she has had no job until now. Despite her laziness, she is earnest in her work and tries to get along with her partners.Her ability is to manipulate stars from her wand. Not celestial bodies, but instead star-shaped objects.
- Ascended Fanboy: Love magical girls to absurd extremes.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Thanks to Ren-Ren's magic, she's brainwashed into being in love with Merry.
- Dismotivation: She doesn’t want to get a job because work will get in the way of her magical girl activities.
- They Don't Make Them Like They Used To: Dislikes many modern magical girl anime because of being starred by fighters, who, according to her, are not real magical girls.
- The Nicknamer: Calls Pastel Merry "Merry-chan" and John Shepherdspie "Shepherdspie-kun".
Pastel Merry/Tanada You
A magical girl hired by Sheperdspie. She’s kind and works hard to complete her task, though she’s prone to making obvious mistakes.Her ability is to move sheep painted in pastel. She can draw and summon sheep with her pastel to help her move or retrieve things.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Thanks to Ren-Ren's magic, she's brainwashed into being in love with Ren-Ren.
- Butt-Monkey: Shepherdspie's.
- Exact Words: When Ren-Ren told her to "collect Grayfruits" she stole all Grayfruits that her friends had collected up to that point.
- The Klutz: She’s constantly tripping over herself and making a mess of herself. Thankfully for her Sheperdspie doesn’t mind too much as long as she doesn’t hurt anyone.
- Only Friend: To Chelsea.
Love Me Ren-Ren/Rei Koimizu
A magical girl hired by Agri to escort her for the inheritance. She is intent on keeping Agri safe. Ren-Ren specializes in relationships and bringing people together, so she hopes to help Agri appreciate her deceased father.Her ability is to cause someone to be love-drunk when hit by her arrow. The first person she hits will fall in love with her. The second person hit will fall in love with the first person, and so on.
- Anti-Villain: She is not a bad person by any means, but will follow Agri's orders now matter how twisted they are.
- Cupid's Arrow: People shot by her arrows will fall in love, though instead of by sight it’s determined by the order of who was shot. The first person will fall in love with Ren-Ren, the second with the first person, and so on. Ren-Ren is careful not to go overboard when using her power since it can get out of control easily.
- Parental Abandonment: She never knew her father, and her mother walked out on her life while she was in elementary school.
Nephilia/Iria Funada
A magical girl hired by Agri to escort her for the inheritance. She’s well-versed in contracts, making her well-suited for the negotiations. She isn’t very good at communicating, teasing people constantly and speaking with a stuttering voice.Her ability is to hear the voices of the dead. When she touches a corpse, she can listen to and replay out loud their last words for some time before their death.
- The Grim Reaper: She dresses like a reaper, carries a scythe, and can listen to the dead. However, she’s not an actual reaper who guides souls or kills people.
- Sinister Scythe: She has a scythe for her primary weapon, suitable for a reaper.
- The Stoic: She has only one facial expression, the one pictured above.
- What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: Her ability is so situational that if Meier didn't die she would have no way to use it.
Rareko/Arare Mutou
A magical girl who also works as a maid for Yol's family, she accompanies the young mage along Maiya to the island for the inheritance discussion. She is also Maiya's student.Her ability is to repair things that are broken. She can reconstruct objects that have been damaged or broken apart, but her magic doesn't work if she doesn't have all the pieces of the broken object.
- Hidden Disdain Reveal: After Maiya dies, Rareko's inner thoughts reveal she has long hated her mentor for how strict and physically abusive Maiya was towards her. Rareko's more worried about remaining employed by Yol's family since Maiya's the one who brought her to Yol's estate.
Maiya/Maya Mutou
A veteran magical girl and acquaintance of Miss Margarite, she is dutifully employed by Yol's family and Rareko's teacher.She is the first (onscreen) death in Breakdown, found with her back slashed open.
Her ability is to wield a staff that beats liars. She uses a staff designed like a candy stick, which grows stronger depending on how much her opponent has lied.
- Mama Bear: She is fiercely protective of Yol, and disgusted at the thought of Navi Ru trying to schmooze her.
- Older Than They Look: Her magical girl form hides the fact that she's in her 40s.
- Sacrificial Lion: She is found dead by Miss Margarite, and is the first to die in breakdown.
The Goddess/Francisca Francesca
- Hero Killer: All told, she racks up seven kills, tying her with Melville for the most kills on screen by an individual character.
- Honest Axe: She’s themed around this fable, wielding a golden and silver axe in combat.

A young boy distantly related to a dead mage, he is summoned to the island to settle the inheritance situation. His great aunt is the magical girl Death Prayer, and she asks Miss Margarite to accompany Touta to the island.Yol
- Adorably Precocious Child: She acts and speaks very elegantly for her age, though she has her occasional tantrums.
Navi Ru
- Brainwashed: At the end of breakdown, Ragi slips a bit of Ren-Ren's arrow into his drink, brainwashing him into thinking that Nephilia is his beloved family.
