     The Wright Family 

Luke Wright

  • Deadpan Snarker: From time to time.
  • Great Detective: During the investigations he and Apollo conduct before they go to court, Luke usually has a lot of the case worked out already, or he knows exactly who the culprit is. Though it's not surprising considering who he was apprentice to.
  • Kindly Vet: Ends up becoming one.
  • Teen Genius: Due to his intelligent in a test he took, he gets to skip two grades.
  • Sole Survivor: Of the car crash that triggers the start of the fic.
  • I Will Find You: A goal of Luke's throughout the fic is to find his parents.
  • Write What You Know: In-universe. Starts writing his adventures with Professor Layton into a book series. Though he changes a few things, like the names of the people and places, and decides to keep the gender of the assistant in his books version of the Professors stories ambiguous.

Apollo Wright, formally Justice

  • Fan Boy: Of Phoenix. Which due to knowing Luke, is want partly results in him getting adopted by Phoenix, along side Luke.
  • The Mole: Following Pheonix's Heroic BSoD in chapter 43, Apollo tells him that he, Trucy and Luke are there for him, which makes Phoenix decide to include him, and only him into his investigation into Kristoph Gavin.
  • Secret-Keeper: Apollo is this for two people. The first time is as mentioned above, and the second is for his own father Jove Justice, when he and his birth mother finds out his father was murdered during a fire at the Khura'in Palace over 20 years ago, but don't tell everyone since Maya is going to Khura'in for her spiritual training and he worries that he'll cause Maya to get stuck into the middle of trouble.

Trucy Wright

  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: Justified in Chapter 126, when she arrives to the wonder bar for the act with Apollo in a bad mood, it comes to light that Phoenix has been overly strict with her, compared with Luke and Apollo.

Phoenix Wright

  • Heroic BSoD: Has one in Chapter 43, when he realizes its been a year since his disbarment.
  • Parents as People: Phoenix is a good father, but from Chapter 126 to 130 it's shown he's been oddly strict with Trucy about what she can do, like piercing her ears, which results in her getting them done anyway and the two getting into an another argument. Eventually his attuited is cooled down a bit, thanks to Maya and Apollo pointing out he was never like this with Luke and Apollo.

Machi Tobaye

In Chapter 352, Phoenix becomes his father parent while he's on a years probation for his smuggling in Turnabout Serenade, and while Thalassa is out of the country.

     The Fey Clan

  • Parental Substitute: Becomes this to The Wright siblings.
  • 0% Approval Rating: Downplayed. Apparently some of the acolytes of the Fey Clan left either due to being a supporter of her aunt Morgan, who is now in prison, or because they lost interest in their position.

  • Antagonistic Offspring: Downplayed, with him and his father. It seems that since his mother's death, him and his father have been at odds, and his father's disprovable of his career choice doesn't help. They don't even see each other at Christmas.
  • Ascended Extra: Is WAY more involved in the story that he was in canon.
  • Fan Boy: Is a huge fan of anything to do with space. As shown after he's first introduced, his room at boarding school has the walls plastered with space themed posters and has a bunch of handmade spacecraft models in there too. Not forgetting how when in school he visits the Cosmos Space Centre whenever he can.
  • Ironic Nickname: Space Cadet, by Ernest Holmes.

  • The Bus Came Back: In Chapter 121, Luke ends up meeting her while he's attending Gressenheller, after having not seen her in years, this is mainly because she's finally gotten up the courage to come back into to his and The Professors life again.
  • Easily Forgiven: The Professor and Luke already had before she quit, but she couldn't forgive herself for lying to them, and as mentioned above, took her years to work the courage to talk to them again.
  • Intrepid Reporter: Since quitting being Layton's assistant, she has become a reporter for the World Times.
  • Translator Buddy: During the Turnabout Serenade trial she acts as this for Machi.

Desmond Sycamore

  • Easily Forgiven: Downplayed. Luke for some time still distrusts him, but eventually Luke becomes more friendly to him.
  • Family Extermination: In canon its implied his wife and daughter were killed by Targent, in this fic though he goes into more detail. How he came back one day to where they were all living, found Targent there, having killed his wife Jean and when he escaped with his daughter Chloe, she got killed during the escape by gunfire. This lend to him becoming Jean Descole.
  • Reformed Criminal: When he appears in Chapter 123, he has since abandoned the persona of Jean Descole, and now travel's the world on the Bostonius with Emmy, as she reports on events from around the world.

Athena Cykes

  • Antagonistic Offspring: After her mothers death, she tells Luke she believes her mother didn't care about her. However, Luke points out that her mother probably did, and had been trying to help her with her hearing ability.
  • Teen Genius: Declares that she wants to become the first ever psychologist-lawyer. At just fifteen years old.

Emma Skye

  • Secret-Keeper: Becomes this after Phoenix tells her of his secret investigation into Kristoph Gavin.

  • A Death in the Limelight: Chapter 141 is about his death and the reactions Apollo, Luke, Trucy and Phoenix all have to it, and the introduction of his son Guy, who takes over the family noodle stand. They all take it pretty hard since though none of them were close to him, he'd been a constant presence in their lives over the years.

  • Aloof Ally: Downplayed. When working on case and Apollo need's to talk with a suspect but can't for some reason, Ernest says he'll call to let them know when they can.
  • Clueless Detective: While in school he's shown to be completely bad at making deductions, but subverted when he becomes a police officer, since he's only really seen working as a guard at crime scenes or in the detection center.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: He has a fringe that always covers his eyes.
  • Famous Ancestor: Claims to be descended from THE Sherlock Holmes, but no one takes him seriously.
  • Fan Boy: Of Sherlock Holmes, even tries to deduce things like him, though as shown with his first interaction with Luke, he's usually wrong.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: In his first appearance, when Luke meets him at his new school, Ernest starts trying deduce why Luke is going there, all the while not only being completely wrong, but also not realizing that he's up setting Luke.

Members of a Phoenix Wright internet forum started by My-Fairy, aka Maya Fey, to drum up business for the Wright Law & Co Office when she started working as Phoenix's assistant. Pearls would also become a member, under the username of Precious-Fairy. Sadly due to Phoenix getting disbarred, it became hounded by internet trolls and everyone stop using it. Then after Apollo, who was a member at one time under the username of steeljusticelover, meets Maya, a new forum starts for them and the following original members.

  • Taking the Heat: For whatever reason, whether it's because he knows who the murderer of Phelan Pound is, or because he didn't want anyone else from the shelter accused of it, he takes the blame, lying that his motive is that he was gonna be replaced.

  • Ironic Nickname: Simba
  • Jerkass: In their first appearance, when Luke takes Trucy and Flora to visit the animal shelter and tells Simba who he is, he can tell she thinks he's lying, and seems rather smug about it, which immediately turns to silent embarrassment when she's disproven in her opinion. Then after the murder of Pound, which she most likely committed, she refuses to admit it and lets Reindeer take the blame.
