Party Members

    Kanata
  • Badass Adorable: A caring and gentle Kid Hero who has the power to restore anything seemingly forever lost, and a good swordsfighter as well.
  • Kid Hero: In the grand tradition of many Eastern RPG protagonists. He is 16 and the de facto leader of the party.
  • The Heart: Kanata often is the one to mediate any arguments or frustrations the party has.

    Lumina
  • Barrier Maiden: Is actually part of the spritnite core of the moon and needs to be absorbed into it to save the world in the end. However, unlike most examples you are allowed to actually choose whether to let her go through with it or not.
  • Girlish Pigtails: They nearly touch the ground.
  • Girly Bruiser: She will sometimes make a point of punching someone who says something she doesn't like and uses her fists in battle instead of a weapon, something no other character does. However, she still has a feminine appearance and otherwise has no other tomboyish traits.
  • Implied Love Interest: She is this trope when it comes to Kanata. Although Van at one point teases Kanata that he clearly has a crush on her and insists that it's clear this is a major force behind many of Kanata's actions, it's never explicitly stated how Lumina feels about Kanata or vice-versa. Lumina does talk about having "feelings" for Kanata briefly, but it is never expanded upon. In the ending of the game where you choose to stop Lumina from sacrificing herself, they embrace each other with a hug in relief, but there is no indication that they ever become an Official Couple.

    Locke
  • Big Eater: A very prominent characteristic of his early on.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: For the second half of the game, Locke is a Gearoid, after Imperial scientists modified him to be a Gearoid. His appearance changes to reflect this along with his speech mannerisms.
  • Parental Abandonment: His parents are never mentioned for most of the game, although he gets to meet his father again in his personal Side Quest in the near the end of the game. Outside of this, they have no effect on him as a character.

    Van
  • Anti-Hero: Van is the only character in the party who is not unambiguously heroic. His personality is the most and pragmatic among the protagonists and while most of the party is motivated by a threat to their homeland, Van is more focused on saving his instead of the world than the others. He does soften up as time goes on, however, and at least part of this is because he was tricked by Krom.
  • Arranged Marriage: He is set to be married to the princess of another kingdom. She is introduced to the party during his side quest.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He is very blunt and will ridicule the actions of allies and enemies alike when he sees fit.
  • Easily Forgiven: Very obviously on display around the halfway point. He kills Kanata after luring him away from the group, although he is also part of the effort to reverse this action later, and suffers absolutely no consequences for it, nor does anyone lose faith in him. Van admittedly did it under false pretenses and does find what he did to be reprehensible, but it does not change the fact that he ultimately was acting on his own free will.
  • Necessarily Evil: How he views himself when he kills Kanata because Krom, disguised as his father, tells him to. In a fairly straightforward example, he is perfectly willing to let the heroes bring him to justice or even kill him in exchange because of this, but was driven by his desire to save his kingdom by any means necessary, regardless of personal consequences.
  • Warrior Prince: He is one for the kingdom of Graccia. His driving motivation is to save his kingdom after it is lost.
  • White-Haired Pretty Boy: Has silvery hair and is the clearest example of an Anti-Hero on the team, as most "heroic" examples of the trope tend to be.

    Galdra
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Revealed in her personal side quest, although outside of that quest line it does not seem to affect her too much in the present.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Right after she joins the heroes, she removes her helemet, revealing her long blond hair.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Zig-Zagged example. She is a boss battle shortly before she joins the group, meaning she was a literal enemy to the heroes. She also calls them enemies of the Empire due to helping the Twilighters escaping and declares them to be on opposite sides for their defiance. However, other than this she is portrayed as by far the most reasonable member of the Imperial Army and had traveled with the other characters (as an NPC) multiple times before this. She also did not seem privy to the more extreme tactics of the Empire as well, which brings how much of a "heel" she could be considered to be into question.
  • High-Heel–Face Turn: The other high-ranking Imperial Army characters are all male and while they all do show some humanity near the end of the game, they were all ultimately complicit in multiple attempts at genocide, one of which was successful, while she was not aware these tactics and is the one who joins the party. Exaggerated when you factor in the rank-and-file soldiers - all of them share the same design and the few who do get any level of characterization are portrayed as male so it can be inferred that Galdra is the only female member of the entire Imperial army while also being portrayed as the most moral member of it.
  • My Country, Right or Wrong: She initially has this attit ude and cites this as the main reason why she cannot join Kanata and his friends. Kanata convinces her that although she may love her country and her cause, they still need her to save the world and the Imperial Empire by extension. Galdra then joins the party as a means to help her country in the long run, although she is aware what she is doing is still considered treason and never fully stops revering those she served as a commander in the army.
  • Samus Is a Girl: For about the first third of the game, she wears a full bodysuit of armor. Once she joins the heroes, she removes her helmet, which allows the party to see her face and long blond hair. Galdra is actually confused and doesn't even see it as a You Didn't Ask situation - she remarks with bemusement that she's always been a woman. Due to the lack of any voiced dialogue, it is unclear if her voice was distorted while wearing her helmet or if her voice simply did not sound feminine to the party when she was speaking to them in any scenes before this point.
  • Shoot the Dog: It's revealed she had to kill her father when she was younger after a certain powerful spritnite drove him mad. She understands his condition would have only worsened but does not like being reminded of it.

    Obaro
  • Cain and Abel: He and his brother were on opposing sides of the war regarding vulcosuits during their era. This is revealed during his personal Side Quest which ends with his brother asking him to end his life for him.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Is a member of the ancient Plated People from a previous era. He was Lost and revived by Kanata in the present day.
  • Last of His Kind: He is this for the Plated People, an ancient civilization that was wiped out during a previous era either due to their war over the use of vulcosuits or because they succumbed to becoming “forgotten” about in the same manner that is affecting the world during the present time in the game.

     Sherra
  • Lady of War: Complete with a bow as a primary weapon. She comes from a clan of people known as the Twilighters and has the official title of "Warrior Maiden" within the clan. It is implied to be a role passed down through her family as her mother was the Warrior Maiden before her.
  • Little Miss Badass: Only 15 and the smallest in stature of the group, yet is considered the toughest warrior of an entire clan.

    Dianto
  • Face of a Thug: At one point, the party is trying to keep a low profile while in the Imperial capital. Dianto then points out that's easy for the rest of the party to say...but not so much for him with a face like his, as a giant monster guardian.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: When Dianto first appears, he is initially introduced as being a product of the prayers and memories of the people of Salny and that is why he is bound to protect them. Later, he is referenced as being a product of spritnite. As the local Green Rocks of this game as well as Tokyo RPG Factory's previous effort, it is possible spritnite was used so that these prayers and memories could become corporeal in the form of Dianto, but this is never stated and the two explanations appears separately from each other in the game.
  • Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Strangely enough, despite being thought of as a fearsome monster during the events of the village of Salny, Dianto's appearance is never remarked upon by any NPC in the entire world once he joins the party. Even when he talks to others, no one ever questions him despite his monstrous appearance and stature.
