Genre: Noise
Date Created: February 1, 2013; October 6, 2016 (redesign)
Character Designer(s): Emma Essex
Halley Labs Position: Programmer, Hardware Specialist
deuteronomy or DOWNLOAD(formerly stylized as ⇩LOAD) is a male hellbat who produces noise music. They were originally separate from LapFox Trax and their releases were on a separate Bandcamp page, which is no longer available. Their first appearance outside of the dedicated label was in the release notes for ИΣVΣRLAИD SØUИDGIRL$. However, their first official appearance as a Lapfox/Halley alias was in Bon Voyage. As Emma's fursona, deuteronomy takes their name from the duology of PC Engine and CD games and a shmup of the name. ⇩LOAD's design from 2013 was made as a way to personify and sexualize Emma's own fears to lessen their effect on her. As such, the decision to make them a bat was based on stereotypical personality traits. As time passed, DOWNLOAD's design was toned down significantly and more effeminate, making him Emma's "casual" fursona. On December 10, 2019, Emma announced on Twitter that the character of DOWNLOAD would have a 'real name' (deuteronomy) attached to them to reflect less harsh noise tracks.
  • all lowercase letters: As deuteronomy, his name is always spelled like this. They're the second alias to have their name stylized this way, after hyi.
  • Capital Letters Are Magic: "DOWNLOAD" is always written like this in music info.
  • Lucky Charms Title: Initially, the "down" in "DOWNLOAD" was a unicode arrow (⇩).
  • Shout-Out: Their initial name came from a shmup for the PC Engine.
    Emoticon/Furries in a Blender
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/profile_emoticon.png
"baby, you can stay here with me/till i cry my eyes to sleep"
Species: Cat
Gender: Male
Genre: Happy Hardcore
Date Created: 2005
Character Designer(s): Emma Essex, Timmothy Sewell
A multicolored cat initially created for the Mungyodance games, and Rotteen's father. Emoticon (real name Cedar d'Moon) has produced music of several genres (Ryustyle, Popcore, Symphonicore, etc.), with a common thread of "happiness." Some of his faster, more intense tracks were labeled under Emoticon X. Under the VULPvibe Records label, he eventually settled into producing happy hardcore music. Later, his future musical releases were rebranded as Furries in a Blender. He briefly went into retirement in September of 2014, when Emma announced that he would be replaced by Rotteen, feeling that his music was a "dead joke". However, in November of 2014, it was revealed that Furries in a Blender was to return to the old name of Emoticon, strictly for old-school Happy Hardcore.
  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: Although the base color of his fur is gray, he has rainbow stripes and a blue fringe with green tipping.
  • Bumbling Dad: He has difficulty understanding challenging emotional complexity, likely contributing to his daughter's life choices. Thankfully, the two have since made up.
  • Manchild: He's completely incapable of acting his age.

Although they are a group alias, they are placed in the single-artist category because KIT and CALIBER have not made separate releases of their own making. For instance, Caliber has appeared alone in NegaRen's TRAPPED IN THE TWERKZONE, and Kit has been in TQBF's "NERVE'S ENDING".
  • Capital Letters Are Magic: Both members always have their names written in all caps.note
    Kitsune

Mayhem was one of the mascots of PSURG Design along with Mischief, who she was shown to be in a relationship with. On August 18th, 2015, Emma mentioned in a Reddit post that Mayhem as a musical alias was unlikely to be heard from again. However, she returned in December 2016, under a track called Boneless with Rotteen. She has since been a mainstay of Halley Labs.
    NegaRen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/profile_negaren.png
"shawty comin' down / the roof is on fire"
Species: Pumpkin Fox
Gender: Unknown (previously male-identifying physically gender-null)
Genre: Raggaeton Fusion
Date Created: September 25, 2009
Character Designer(s): Emma Essex, Squeedge
A cartoon fox (referred to as a "pumpkin fox") that was created from the collective spirit of Halloween. He that produces a fusion of happy hardcore, speed dance, and moombahton/reggaeton which Emma has jokingly referred to as "next-gen miami speed bass". NegaRen can be recognized through his telling use of half-time breakdowns uitilizing the Dem Bow rhythm. As his name would imply, NegaRen is basically a "negative" version of Renard, which is the reason for his "inverted" coloring. Work under the alias is only released between late September-November, and is primarily a Halloween gimmick. As such, much of the work under the alias arguably bleeds into what would regularly be released as Renard. Ironically, NegaRen's style is a bit more upbeat and happier than that of Renard's despite being a negative version of him.

He sometimes incorporates vocals from existing popular music into his songs as well. Renard also has existed as Emma's first fursona for a near-decade before transitioning to Emma Essex and DOWNLOAD. On August 18th, 2015, Emma mentioned in a Reddit post that the character of Renard was unlikely to be heard from again. However, he did release a single, INSIDE 99999999999999999999999999999, in July 2016, and the album SHOUNEN BASS! TURBO in April 2018.

Emma has stated that the original driving force to creating the alias was inspiration from m1dy's speedcore productions and the generally upbeat or non-serious tone, which tends to be a stark contrast against speedcore's generally serious and angry tone. As such, TQBF is often seen as a good entry point for speedcore, as it is accessible, if not through melodic content, then through comedic. They have a strong fondness for BANDETTO.

  • He Who Must Not Be Seen: This alias is treated more like an omniscient entity than just a group of characters. Despite what the alias' album art depicts, HLA is not a group solely consisting of Rotteen, Darius, and hyi. phwoa depicts what looks like new characters, but they are meant to be an abstract representation of the music.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: There's no art of their physical appearance, only static.
  • Psychic Starship Pilot: The album art of their first album, 2YR, 40:28.649, depicts Rotteen and Darius in what looks like a spaceship cockpit, encountering a totem of faces surrounded by Tweesees.
