    Jenny

Anya Petrova/"Jennifer Franklin"/"The Whisper"

A Russian spy now living as a suburban mom, Jenny is forced back into action.

  • Can't Shift While Shifted: Jenny can do both Voluntary Shapeshifting and Chameleon Camouflage, but not together, so that's two alternate forms already, but the actual shapeshifting: Jenny's ability to shapeshift puts a lot of strain on her body to maintain, and it hurts to do, so she can only shift to a new form in her default, more relaxed state. And the fuels of mental rest and iron-rich food are hard to come by, so even if it didn't hurt and was easy to maintain, she couldn't assume more than one or two forms a day. However, during the climax at the skating rink, Jenny transforms rapidly between all the identities she's acquired over the course of her career to throw off the snipers looking for her in the crowd, shifting directly from one form to the next without ever reverting to her true self. It's not known how she accomplished this, but the ending implies that Jenny might not have been entirely honest about her limitations...
  • Chameleon Camouflage: Her "camo-mode", which gives her an octopus-like ability to blend in with her surroundings.
  • Deep Cover Agent: The final scene reveals that Jenny has been working for someone in Russia, presumably the SVR, the entire time — evidently unbeknown to Svetlana, who believed she had turned her back on her country — and has taken advantage of the situation to plant herself within the CIA. Her true allegiance remains unclear.
  • I Let Gwen Stacy Die: She witnesses Felipe murder Lidia Orsorio — whom he and Gideon had previously mind-controlled into killing her own bridal party, and whom she had promised to protect — and is powerless to do anything without blowing the entire mission. Her guilt over this drives her determination to bring him down.
  • Kidnapped by the Call: Having put her old life as a spy and assassin behind her, not to mention having a daughter, she really didn't want to be dragged back into the spy game. Unfortunately for her, Chauncey doesn't give her a choice in the matter, threatening to reveal the truth about her past, have her jailed for life and leave Becca to deal with the stigma of being the daughter of an enemy agent.
  • Mama Bear: After Becca is abducted by Svetlana, nothing is going to stop Jenny getting her back. Nothing.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: The modifications made to her body by the Yaroslav serum allow her to take the form of anybody she's touched. It's not pleasant, though, and puts an extreme stress on her internal organs. Also, she can only maintain it for a while, particularly if she's under emotional stress.

    Chauncey

Chauncey Lew

A former special forces agent.
  • It's Personal: His determination to find Gideon, due to what happened on the Marseilles mission.
  • Kill the Ones You Love: He was forced to kill his fiancée Rose, who was under Gideon's mind control, during the mission in Marseilles.
  • Not So Omniscient After All: He initially presents himself as knowing everything there is to know about Jenny/Anya, but it turns out there are things he doesn't know about her, such as her "camo-mode".
Chauncey: Is that it, or are there any other superpowers you're hiding?
Jenny: My nipples light up when I'm scared.
    Chauncey: ...Really?
    Jenny: No. Seriously?
  • Rogue Agent: Turns out he was disavowed by the CIA, who assumed Rose had been turned and he was just too blind to see it. As a result, he has mounted a private op to hunt down Gideon.

    Chris

Christopher Clarke

Chauncey's tech guy and right-hand man.

     Becca

Rebecca Mary Leah Franklin

Jenny's cantankerous daughter.

    Svetlana

Svetlana Petrova

Jenny's old SVR handler.
  • Abusive Mom: Treated her own daughter like a subordinate and mocked her relationship with Fania Orlova. She ends up brainwashing her granddaughter in the climax
  • Evil Matriarch: Svetlana, who it turns out is Anya's mother, becomes her worst enemy, to the point of nearly killing her. She takes her own granddaughter Becca captive too, brainwashing her to kill people.
  • Samus Is a Girl: Everyone assumes "Gideon" is a man, based on the name. "Turns out she isn't.
  • Walking Spoiler: See the entries marked above with spoilers. Even her surname is hidden under a spoiler mark.

The son of the Chinese Ambassador.

     Fania

Fania Orlova

The daughter of a bioweapons engineer.

The Caleros

     Felipe

Felipe Calero

A Spanish businessman and far-right terrorist.
  • Asshole Victim: He's a racist, a terrorist, a mass murderer and a traitor to his country who has no compunction against killing one of his nephews and manipulating the other into a Suicide Mission. His fate at Jenny's hands is well-deserved.
  • Villains Want Mercy: He dies begging Jenny for his life.
Felipe: Please. I don't want to die.
Jenny: (dropping him from a balcony) Neither did Lidia Orsorio.

     Andres

Andres Calero

Felipe's brother.
  • Asshole Victim: In addition to being complicit in his brother's crimes, he's also molesting his teenage nephew Diego. It's hard to feel sorry for him when Jenny kills him.
  • Bait the Dog: Andres is initially slightly more gentle than his brother, patting Diego on the back after his brother’s death, urging Felipe to forgive Diego and saying he’ll always try and protect him. Andres then gropes Diego (actually Jenny) in the car, tells him how much he loves their nights together and that he should keep the molestation a secret to avoid hurting his mother.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Having failed to get information out of him by shooting his kneecaps, Jenny leaves him to be trampled and gored to death by his brother's prize fighting bull.
  • Decapitation Presentation: Jenny brings Felipe his head after killing him.
  • Villainous Valour: About the only thing praiseworthy of this rapist scumbag is him refusing to tell Jenny anything even as he’s being tortured.

Felipe's nephew.

     Rámon

Rámon

Felipe's nephew.

     Ines
