On her way to kill Judas, Icey encountered a list- the cast of characters in the game _iCEY._.
Main Characters
- Boyish Short Hair: Barring her ponytail (which might be holographic), Icey's hair is this.
- The Chosen One: She has this title, and was created and chosen to kill Judas and bring an end to his reign of terror.
- Expendable Clone: One of the endings and some eastereggs show that Icey is this and that as old Iceys die in various brutal ways, new ones are made and sent out to die, just like their predecessors before them. Also, those eastereggs mentioned just now? You can run across either another Icey missing her left leg and stabbed through her chest with her own sword, or a small mountain of dead Iceys, piled up on top of each other like trash, missing various limbs and with various limbs strewn about.
- Grew Beyond Their Programming: In the True Ending, ICEY begins operating on her own without the player's input in order to save her world from the Narrator, becoming her own separate entity from the player.
- Heavy Sleeper: The narrator accuses Icey of being this in the intro, if she chooses not to wake up.
- Little Miss Badass: Given the combat moves she can pull off, Icey definitely qualifies.
- Master Swordsman: With her trusty sword and dizzying array of combat moves, Icey more than qualifies.
- Not a Morning Person: Icey can be this if you refuse to press the wake up key, at which point the narrator will accuse her of being lazy and such a heavy sleeper that not even an earthquake could get her awake.
- Robot Girl: Icey is a battle android, who's sole purpose is killing Judas. Or so the narrator claims.
- Speed Echoes: Her vertiginous fighting style leaves after-images.
- Suddenly Speaking: After spending the whole game as a Heroic Mime, in the True Ending, she starts talking to signify that she has broken from the control of the game and thanks the player for their help.
- Fairy Companion: It is a little robot ball that follows Icey around, though it doesn't really do much.
- Robot Buddy: The Observer, a little robot that follows Icey around, floating above and behind her shoulder. In game, it does nothing but trail Icey wherever she goes, though the stinger shows there's more to the little thing than meets the eye.
- Background Boss: He fights by continuously spawning in foes and messing with your screen.
- Go Mad from the Revelation: When he realizes in the true ending that he is not the developer, but just another character in the game, he snaps and tries to kill Icey, thinking that doing so will free him from the confines of the game.
- Grew Beyond Their Programming: In the True Ending the Narrator realizes that he is not the creator of the game but instead part of the game itself with preprogrammed dialogue and reactions. Before the game can reset itself again, he fights back and attempts to completely wipe out the game and ICEY.
- Post-Final Boss: The narrator in the true ending is a background boss that spawns in all sorts of mechs, while distorting your view and eventually disconnecting your controller. However, you cannot lose this fight since your health meter does not show and it is more of a scripted event.
- Unreliable Narrator: He's spot on in his narration if you follow his advice and fight Judas. If you don't however, then he starts tripping up, getting mad and then eventually gains sentience and, while addressing the player directly, asks for your help in killing Icey, by putting down the gamepad so he can kill the now motionless character.
- Tomato in the Mirror: He spends the entire game thinking he is the developer of the game, only to discover in the true ending that he too is a character within the game, and thus a mere program like Icey.
Icey's target and the bringer of the apocalypse. A transhumanist cult leader seeking immortality, Judas somehow gained access to a book of great power and used it to pledge his allegiance to the Master. In his name, he seeks to meld the minds of his followers into a computer network. He pilots a giant spider mech in battle.
- Background Boss: He fights by using eye beams and buzz-saw arms.
- Dark Messiah: He is a cult leader who claims that he will grant immortality to his followers through Transhuman Treachery.
- Giant Spider: His mech is a humongous spider three times the size of Puck, and you beat him by chopping off the legs one-by-one.
- Immortality Seeker: His goal is to use the Necronomicon and the power of transhumanism to attain immortality.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: Judas is a cult leader who essentially betrayed humanity via Transhuman Treachery and becoming a disciple of Hastur, bringing about the apocalypse. He is also said to have betrayed Puck, one of the bosses, in an unspecified manner.
- Orcus on His Throne: He has already brought about the apocalypse and so spends the whole game hiding atop the Clock Tower, sending his minions to kill Icey.
- Psychotic Smirk: His image shows him with one as he is Giving Someone the Pointer Finger to make it clear that he's a bad guy.
- Transhuman Treachery: He sought to become immortal by using the Necronomicon to bring about the apocalypse, and made himself into half-man, half-machine, doing the same to his followers, and wants to upload them to a computer network, because of his belief that "flesh is no more than a cage".
Judas' Followers
The first and penultimate boss of the game, and the boss of the Lost Woods and Clock Tower 2F. He is the right-hand man of Judas who's memories were mixed with his lover Trinity.
- Co-Dragons: He and Trinity are the closest servants of Judas.
- Warmup Boss: He fights you as the boss of the Lost Woods before the Narrator even shows up and is easy in order to introduce you to the concept that bosses will have two health bars.
- Skippable Boss: Dahal only fights you the second time around if you kill his lover Trinity. If you don't, then Dahal keels before you in appreciation and lets you go instead.
The apathetic boss of the Sewers. It is a big, fat machine with a mouth in its stomach. It has no feelings whatsoever and serves Judas with no thought of its own.
- Fat Bastard: It has a rather big stomach and serves Judas, trying to eat Icey when she arrives to his lair.
- The Stoic: It is said to follow Judas and was willing to robiticize itself with no feelings whatsoever.
The loyal boss of Ultimopolis. He is a big robot with a hammer like his mythological namesake. He also has a black other self whom he split himself into in order to serve his leader.
- Degraded Boss: After being fought as a boss, Thor ends up becoming a Giant Mook in the Clock Tower, complete with a black variant.
- Dual Boss: More of a dual miniboss, but in the Clock Tower Entrance, he is fought alongside his black variant, both of them attacking you at once.
- Mighty Glacier: He is very slow, but his attacks are strong and hard-hitting to make up for it.
- Undying Loyalty: He was willing to roboticize himself and split himself into two giant robots to serve Judas.
- Wake-Up Call Boss: If Carlos did not clue you in that the game is about to get difficult, Thor and his black version (while more of a miniboss than a normal boss) at the start of the Clock Tower Entrance will. Two Mighty Glaciers who have attacks that strike a wide area and can temporarily stop Icey in her tracks, potentially leading to a Cycle of Hurting, and they are relentless. Better start grinding and buying those upgrades if you want to stand a chance, because the rest of the game only gets harder from there.
The heartless boss of the Metro Entrance. He is a giant mechanical spider who can spawn little spiders to fight for him. He was betrayed by Judas in some unspecified way and now haunts the metro.
- Lone Wolf Boss: According to the description of his achievement, he is the only boss not working under Judas, but is instead hiding in the Metro Entrance and attacking Icey because being turned into a robot presumably wiped out his conscience.
- Giant Spider: A more straightforward big mechanical spider about as tall as Icey herself.
- Spell My Name With An S: Regarding the Giant Spider boss, is it Puck or Parker? Ingame it's Puck, but in the achievement listing it's written as Parker.
The ambitious boss of the Metro Transfer. He is a spider-like robot bigger than even the Gorger. He resents being forced to reincarnate with every reset and so wants to replace Icey as the Chosen One by killing her.
- Kill and Replace: He wants to become the new chosen one by killing Icey so he can free himself from the cycle of reincarnation.
- Giant Spider: He is a massive spider-like robot.
- Wake-Up Call Boss: The first four bosses are either easy or manageable, but Carlos is a step up in difficulty. He is essentially a version of the Gorger who is faster and has harder-hitting attacks which are not as easy to dodge.
The faithful boss of the Marionette Theater. He is a humanoid mechanical red man. He lies in wait for Icey, but was banished to the furthest corner of the game world.
- Optional Boss: At least, if you go the route the Narrator wants you to go, then you can reach Judas without ever seeing Jack as he is the boss of the optional Marionette Theater.
The boss of the Clock Tower Entrance. He is a giant mech who has slowly lost his mind to the constant reincarnation of the resets.
- Background Boss: He fights using his fists and shoulder mounted laser cannons.
The "boss" of Clock Tower 2F. She became a follower of Judas at some point and was ordered by him to destroy the bridge in the Lost Woods after her lover Dahal was first beaten by Icey. She lies at the Clock Tower's second floor, but will not attack Icey. Her memories were mixed with Dahal's.
- Co-Dragons: She and Dahal are the closest servants of Judas.
- Zero-Effort Boss: When you finally encounter her, she just stands there and does not fight back. You can kill her in one hit. Of course, you can spare her, and if you do not, Dahal will fight you in the next room.
Others
Hastur, the Yellow King
The King in Yellow himself. Judas has pledged allegiance to him via the Necronomicon, and his cult worships him. It is with his power that the apocalypse was brought about.
- Greater-Scope Villain: Judas worships him and presumably used his power to bring about the apocalypse.
