Go To

Henshin Sisters has a whole bunch of characters from both the town of Angel Bay and outside of it, and they're all quite distinct.

The Kendrick Sisters and their companions

    General
Estella, Anja and Natalia are the daughters of Ryana and Atsuko Kendrick, all attending Angel Bay University. One day, they receive special powers and abilities during an attack on their campus, allowing them to fight back and save the day.

Tropes:

  • Henshin Hero: Of three different varieties!
  • I Know Karate: All three of them learned Karate growing up, and are very skilled at it, if partly because Atsuko was apparently even better at it than their teachers. Anja in particular makes use of it in her fighting style, especially during her brawl with the Tenebris Imperatoris in the shopping district.

    Estella Kendrick
The oldest of the Kendrick Sisters, Estella is a social butterfly who also has a lot of issues with staying in a relationship. Has become an Arcane Knight after gaining magical runes that allow her to cast spells and Galowye, an ancient magical talking sword.

Tropes:

  • Intergenerational Friendship: With Clarette, despite being decades younger than her.
  • Magic Knight: Her skillset as part of the team.
  • Magical Girl Warrior: With a sword, magic, and can even fire beams!
  • Serial Romeo: She tries to make her relationships work, but they never work out.
  • Stripperiffic: Her Arcane Knight outfit. This is very much deliberate on her part, she just likes showing off. It's entirely an illusion, however, in reality she's wearing a practical full body set of protective armor underneath.

    Galowye
A centuries-old magical sapient sword, he volunteered to be Estella's weapon so she can fight.

Tropes:

    Anja Kendrick
The middle sister, Anja is a more stoic, moody girl suffering from depression. Has bonded with a symbiotic entity named Prometheus, giving her superhuman capabilities.

Tropes:

  • Henshin Hero: More inspired by western comics.
  • Survivor Guilt: Blames herself for Matt's death, because she stopped in the middle of the road that fateful night.

    Prometheus
A science experiment rescued from an illegal research facility, Prometheus has bonded with Anja to provide her with protection as well superhuman capabilities.

Tropes:

    Natalia Kendrick
The youngest sister, Natalia is a tech nerd and a bit of a shy girl. She has been gifted with cybernetic additions to her body, a combat suit and a variety of weapons and vehicles stored in her body via matter compression capsules.

Tropes:

  • Cyborg: Of the cybernetic kind, with her organs having cybernetic elements added on via nanotechnology rather than replaced.
  • Henshin Hero: Her cybernetic suit takes obvious inspiration from Kamen Rider.
  • Naughty by Night: In private it doesn't take her much convincing to get involved in naughty stuff. Tharen believes she's submissive.

    Neural Interface Assistant (NIA)
The AI on-board Natalia's cybernetic systems. NIA provides her with advice and information.

Tropes:

  • Benevolent A.I.: As she explains to Natalia, the way she is designed means she has every incentive to operate with Natalia's best interests in mind.
  • Virtual Sidekick: One directly implanted into Natalia.

Angel Bay

    Jay Hayward
Estella's ex-boyfriend, now simply a friend with benefits.

Tropes:

    Sonia Mata
Anja's best friend, and a something of a "mild goth".

Tropes:

  • Flat-Earth Atheist: Is rather annoyed that there is evidence that actual gods exist, and wants to believe they're really just super advanced aliens or something along those lines.
  • Friends with Benefits: With Anja.
  • Goth: Somewhere between gloomy and perky goth. She thinks more hardcore goths are just tryhards.

    Florrie Ashworth
Natalia's best friend and also a tech and engineering expert. Somewhat on the shorter side, and a rather dirty girl.

Tropes:

  • A-Cup Angst: She's described as curvy, but she's still jealous of Natalia's cup size and is more than thrilled when she gets to experience having a chest that large during a sex scene with her and Tharen via magic.
  • Friends with Benefits: With Natalia. Seeing a pattern here?
  • Techno Wizard: Is very skilled with electronics and engineering, though her projects are sometimes questionable, such as making sex toys.

    Karla Thurman
Reporter for the Angel Bay Times, wants to move up in the world. After witnessing the attack on the university, she wants to investigate the paranormal happenings in town.

Tropes:

  • Intrepid Reporter: She tries to be one, but the government has her on a leash, which makes it difficult for her.

    Donavan Amner
Karla's photographer. Is a fairly chill guy, but picks up things quicker than one would think.

Tropes:

    Harlan Hamblett
An old friend of Anja and Sonia, who also knew Matthew Braeman.

Tropes:

  • Survivor Guilt: Blames himself for Matt's death because he suggested going to the party being held that night.

    Matthew Braeman (SPOILERS)
Anja's boyfriend in high school. Was killed one night after a party by a street racer.

Tropes:

  • Heroic Sacrifice: Pushed Anja out of the way of the speeding car right before it hit, saving her life.
  • The Lost Lenore: Was Anja's boyfriend before he was killed. His death caused her immediate spiral into depression, which she still hasn't recovered from fully.
  • Posthumous Character: Only appears directly in a flashback, and is long dead in the present, his death still having lingering effects on Anja and her friends.

    Arika
A good witch from the Blue Mountains, has come to Angel Bay hunting evil witches.

Tropes:

  • Prehensile Hair: Part of her magical abilities.
  • The Stoner: Is implied to be constantly high on her own special blend, for spiritual reasons.

    Ryana and Atsuko Kendrick
The parents of Estella, Anja and Natalia. Notably absent due to being overseas on some unknown business.

Tropes:

  • The Ghost: They're overseas and very much absent from the plot, up until Chapter 28, but even then only for a scene where they communicate via video call.
  • Homosexual Reproduction: They claim to have borne their daughters via a sperm donor, but said daughters share traits of both of them. Tharen and Gartho suspect magic is involved. Ryana and Atsuko confirm that was indeed the case when they talk to their daughters via video chat, with heavy implication that magical sexual modification was involved (aka growing a penis).

The Government

    Agent Lim Yang
An agent working for the Paranormal Activities Commission, assigned to investigate the goings-on in Angel Bay.

Tropes:

  • The Men in Black: A rather friendly take on this trope to anyone he doesn't immediately hypnotize into believing the paranormal isn't real.

Galactic Defense Force (GDF)

    General
The Galactic Defense Force is both a military and policing organization established by the Galactic Congress to maintain peace and law in the galaxy.

Tropes:

    Captain Tharen Valitar

Tropes:

  • Bigger Is Better in Bed: Has genetic mods and magic that allow him to change the size of his penis to better suit different species, though considering his first time with Natalia and Florrie, he seems to lean towards this trope.
  • Friends with Benefits: With both Natalia and Florrie.
  • Powered Armor: Has a powered exoskeleton to be able to operate on the same level as taller species, because Piancar are about a meter shorter than everyone else on average.

    Agent Garthro Beathwe
A Zevurn male, and a GDF combat engineer sent down to Earth to help the Sisters.

Tropes:

    Magister Phi’Scia Nalulini
A Miama female, sent down to Earth after the second major battle to help out.

Tropes:

  • The Archmage: Vol'Dathar.
  • Happily Married: Vol'Dathar affectionately describes Sal'Arzia as his soulmate through the ages.
  • The Team Benefactor: They're the primary reason why the heroes can stand a chance against the bad guys in the first place, having sent down Galowye, Prometheus and Natalia's cybernetics and equipment, along with Tharen and Gartho.

Thaumia

    Clarette Leigh
An Arcane Knight from the Order of Sir Renaud, she has come to Earth to investigate the sudden spike of paranormal occurrences around the town as well as the planetary shield. Becomes Estella's swordsmanship teacher. Her Arcane Arm is Naolin.

The apparent Big Bad of the story, trying to take over the town for his own ends.

Tropes:

  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Alongside the evil spirit he is bonded to.
  • Evil Overlord: Very much styles himself as one of these.
  • Gratuitous Latin: His title means "Dark Emperor" in Latin.
  • Me's a Crowd: Is not only capable of creating copies of the people he captures to turn into monstrous soldiers, he also can create copies of himself to fight the heroes.

The nameless wicked spirit bonded with the Tenebris Imperatoris.

Tropes:

Tropes:

  • Asian Fox Spirit: Specifically a bake-gitsune in anthropomorphic form.
