  • Academic Athlete: She’s a straight-A student and on the Football team (Volleyball team in the book).
  • The Ace: Kitty is an A-star student, a talented athlete on the Football team, and a member of extra-curriculum activities. This is mainly because her parents push her in fear that she will lose her scholarship.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Kitty was pretty in the book, however she was insecure about her height, standing at 6 ft 2. In the show, she’s average height.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: She’s the Tomboy to Mika’s Girly Girl.

    Bree

Gabriella “Bree” Deringer

Played by: Creator/MiaMcKenna-Bruce

  • Deadpan Snarker: Bree has a pretty sharp tongue, which she isn’t afraid to use, weather it’s at her peers, her father or her teachers.
  • Goth: Bree has dyed Black hair, wears lots of makeup, wears pretty gothic outfits, regularly skips lessons and is a Deadpan Snarker.

    Olivia

Olivia Hayes

  • Adaptational Sexuality: Olivia appears to be Straight in the novel, while in the show she’s either Bisexual or Gay.
  • Beta Bitch: Acts as one to Amber. However, she’s pretty kind and polite. She’s also from a working-class background and is pretending to be rich to fit in.
  • Dumb Blonde: Has Strawberry Blonde hair and tries to give off this vibe to fit in with her wealthy, ditzy friends. She’s actually pretty smart however and is a very talented actress.

    Margot

Margot Rivers

Played by: Bethany Antonia

  • Black and Nerdy: Margot is Black and an unpopular geek.
  • Butt-Monkey: She had her diary read out by Amber, revealing all her secrets and getting the nickname “Cry me Rivers” has no friends and then her boyfriend is revealed to be a murderer.
  • Fallen Princess: When she lived in America, she was popular. When her rich parents decided to move their American daughter to England she briefly became friends with Amber and her Girl Posse, but then her diary was read out and she became a social outcast.
  • Formerly Fat: In the novel, Margot was previously bullied for being overweight and because she had a nude photo of her wrapped in plastic wrap while naked because she’d heard Amber talking about it (who was trying to trick Margot into doing it for a prank).
  • Nerd Glasses: Wears round glasses and is a geek.
  • Shrinking Violet: She has no friends at Bannerman, is very shy, spends her lunchtimes in the computer room alone, gets bullied by Amber and Cam and has parents who think she’s weird.

    Mika

Mika Cavanaugh

Played by: Emily Carey

    Ronny

Ronald “Ronny” Kent

Played by: Joe Flynn

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: In the book, he’s described as scrawny and having a bad case of acne. In the show, he’s quite muscular for his age, works out a lot, drinks protein shakes mainly (implied to be drinking them to lose weight rather than to gain muscle) and often brags about his physique.
  • Alpha Bastard: In the show, Ronny is a sociopathic boy who’s the most popular guy in school. However, in the book, while popular, Ronny was a New Transfer Student who was following Rex and his friends around.
  • Asshole Victim: With all the shit he’s done, nobody feels sorry for him when he gets pushed out his window, meeting his well-deserved end.
  • Jerk Jock: Ronny bullies weaker students, slut-shames girls, leaks Mika’s nudes (and is implied to have taken advantage of other girls in the past), catfished Christopher and leads the student body in bullying Mika.

    Amber

Amber Stevens

Played by: Razan Nassar

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In the books, Amber is shallow, spoiled and short-tempered like in the show, but she’s also a girl who bodyshames overweight people, bullies them more and shared a nude photo of a rival, and feeling no remorse for it. However, in the show she doesn’t seem to care for Rex, while in the book she genuinely loved him and he was the one who treated her like crap.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: She isn’t a closeted Lesbian in the books.
  • Alpha Bitch: Amber is the leader of the popular Clique at Bannerman. She’s known for bullying students, being shallow, and rules the student body with a manicured fist.
  • Morality Pet: In the show, Amber genuinely cares about Olivia and gets jealous if another girl is talking to her.
    • In the books, she secretly loathes Olivia for being prettier than her and for being a better actor. As such, Rex is her morality pet. She detests Peanut, another member of her Girl Posse because Peanut is closer to Olivia.
