Justin Trudeau was born on Christmas Day, 1971 to then 15th Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Trudeau and Margaret Trudeau.

Taking after his father, Trudeau supported the Liberals from a young age, and following his father's death in 2000 became increasingly involved with the party. In the 2008 federal election, Trudeau had been nominated to run as the Liberal candidate in the riding of Papineau, and narrowly defeated the Bloc Québécois' Vivian Barbot. While the Conservatives won the 2008 election, Trudeau was highly critical of Conservative inaction in wake of the financial crisis. Although winning Papineau again in the 2010 election, the Liberals had one of their worst performances in federal election history, and Michael Ignatieff resigned as Liberal leader. The subsequent 2012 Liberal leadership election saw Trudeau win by a landslide, then going on to win a majority government in the 2014 federal election. The Liberal’s majority helped greatly in quelling the effects of the financial crash. But by 2018, Canada was well out of the storm and saw little need for the Liberals, electing the conservative Andrew Scheer, who promised tax cuts and an overall better Canadian economy. Scheer’s leadership would not last though, and he was voted out by parliament. The following 2019 federal election saw Trudeau win by only 3 seats. After an informal parliamentary alliance with MacKay the previous year, in 2022 Trudeau decided an official coalition with the Conservative party was necessary to combat radicalism and Québécois separatists. This resulted in a split within the Conservatives, and while the Liberal-Conservatives retained their majority, it was by a small margin. The 2023 federal election saw the coalition win, although by slim numbers.

In face of radicals on all sides, Trudeau fights on.

• Easily Elected: Inverted, Trudeau and his Liberal Party have always scraped by in order to get elected and re-elected forming coalitions with other parties and even so still fail to comfortably get elected. Only in 2012 did Trudeau have an easy time being elected even though it was only for the leadership election of the party.
