Lorelei
Lorelei
Born a princess in the kingdom of Eludoran, Lorelei was always stuck in the shadow of her more outstanding brother, Llane. She takes on an epic adventure to win her father's love and admiration, and learns how different the world outside of the palace grounds is.
- Big Brother Worship: She did respect her departed brother Llane immensely.
- Character Development: She becomes less naive and clueless about the world outside as she takes on the quest to retrieve her brother's remains.
- Damsel in Distress: Occasionally is subjected to this during her journey, with Malachi, Pendarynn, Tabaqui, and eventually Arulaine journeying to rescue her.
- Enfant Terrible: She leaves behind an impressive number of dead friends in her wake.
- Forbidden Friendship: Between Pendarynn and Lorelei, whose parents hate each other.
- Impossible Task: Only break into the heart of The Empire and steal back the remains of her brother. Which the Evil Overlord Bloodfang is wearing as a fur coat. Nothing to it, right?
- Inadequate Inheritor: Believes herself to be one. Subverted in that her father, Arulaine doesn't think so.
- Kid Sidekick: Has two, in the form of Malachi and Tabaqui.
- Kill the Ones You Love: Invokes this with Arulaine at the end.
- Little Stowaway: Lorelei stows away with some traders to begin her adventures.
- Maternal Death? Blame the Child!: Unfortunately for Lorelei, her father never took Anvira's death well.
- Meaningful Name: 'Lorelei' is another name for sirens who lure sailors to their doom.
- Protected by a Child: She defeats Arulaine's last stand as Bloodfang's new lieutenant.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The more adventurous and outgoing red oni to Malachi's more passive and quiet blue oni.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Tries to launch one on her brother's killer. It ends a little differently.
- The Un Favourite: Always fancied herself as one next to Llane.

- We Can Rule Together: Gives this speech to Malachi.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: All Lorelei wants is for her dad to acknowlege her.
- Wizard Duel: Holds one with Malachi.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Implied to be one after her Face–Heel Turn.
- You Can Turn Back: Lorelei gives Tabaqui a chance to turn back. She is given her own chance to turn back later on. Both of them should have accepted, really.
- You Killed My Father: Thinks of Bloodfang, her brother's murderer in this manner at the start of her journey.
Malachi
Malachi
Lorelei's childhood friend, and the one who has been on a lookout for her since young. Although Malachi staunchly remains an ally and friend to Lorelei, it doesn't necessarily mean he agrees with her brash decisions.
- The Ace: He's intelligent, quick on his paws, and has the gift of music and magic.
- Badass Normal: Although he likes relying on his magic, Malachi can safely be considered one of these when the need arises.
- Kid Sidekick: Is occasionally one to Lorelei.
- Precocious Crush: He develops feelings for Marissa, who is definitely bigger than him.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The calmer and quieter blue oni to Lorelei's jumpy and energetic red oni.
- Squishy Wizard: Averted. He's pretty skilled with hand-to-hand combat too.
- Why Are You Not My Son?: Arulaine seems to like having Malachi around more than his own daughter, and frequently makes comparisons between the two.
- Wizard Duel: Well, he is the most adept at magic in the story, so...
