Ask Blog Runners

    Wheatley
From Portal 2, the first character to start a blog. Run by Tumblr user @bitchwithaportalhyperfixation.
  • Amnesiac Resonance: When Wheatley is reset, Irene jokingly calls Wheatley a dumbass. This causes him to start crying, despite not knowing why it affected him so much.
  • Amnesiac Lover: Wheatley's hard reset results in him forgetting about everything including Grady, much to the latter's dismay.
  • Back from the Dead: Wheatley hard resets, seemingly dead as he once was, however is brought back after Jinx's maintenance on him succeeds.
  • Blatant Lies: Wheatley often swears that he has no mental issues whatsoever. However this couldn't be more obvious to... pretty much everyone.
  • Dork in a Sweater: After getting his android body, Wheatley mostly just wears a blue sweater with clouds on it, and not much else. I don’t think I need to explain the dork part.

    Grady
From Aperture Desk Job, was inspired by Charlie to start an ask blog as well. Run by Tumblr user @spottedbread.
  • Act of True Love: When Glados catches word that Wheatley is back in the facility, Grady steps up against her harshly, willing to get himself killed for Wheatley at the sign of trouble arising.
  • all lowercase letters: Grady typically types with all lowercase letters, only using correct capitalization in very serious moments.
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: After Wheatley comes back from his reset, Grady feels his emotions and fears build into him confessing his love before he loses the chance to again.
  • Addled Addict: Grady is currently feeling the effects of drugs on him, for "better" and for worse, and is breaking down about his life and methods of avoidance as well as his addiction.
  • Blatant Lies: Grady has a similar problem to Wheatley, but either tries to skirt around the issue or subtly admit defeat to his issues. He also denies having anything to do with drugs, but quickly realizes that everybody can see the truth.
  • Hearing Voices: Grady experiences this when Red "helps" him
  • Hypocrite: Grady often tells those he cares for that "avoiding your problems won't do you any good" but to be frank, he does it all the time. At least he sometimes TRIES to deal with them.

    Solar
The Space Sphere from Portal 2, takes over Wheatley's blog from time to time.
  • Caps Lock: Solar types in all caps at all times.

    Charlie
The player character from Aperture Desk Job. Serves a similar role on Grady's blog as Solar does on Wheatley's.

    Glados
The main antagonist of the Portal series. Started an ask blog to entertain herself. Run by Tumblr user @Inksplattedboys.
  • Break Them by Talking: Glados often puts down people like Wheatley and Grady trying to get them to break down. In extreme cases, it causes their corruption.
  • Hypocrite: There's a lot of ways she demonstrates this, but one of the more damning examples is how Chell killing her makes Chell a horrible person in her eyes. However, Glados has killed countless test subjects, and was trying to kill Chell first, and has zero remorse, not even wanting to change who she is. (fuckin wow ok.)

    Maverick
The announcer from Portal 2. Takes over Glados' blog while she's away.

    Fact Sphere
The Fact Sphere from Portal 2. Afraid of opinions.

    Rick
The Adventure Sphere from Portal 2. In love with his own creator. Run by user @biggitybugs.
  • Anatomically Impossible Sex: Unless Bugs gave him the parts, it's implied that he and Jinx did the did without him having anything to do the do with. And he was already an alleged "black belt" in the bedroom as a core, so...
  • Sex Starts, Story Stops: Jinx and Rick are implied to have sex when it does nothing for the actual plot or story progression. Thanks, Jinxcast.

     Gray (Phantom Wheatley)
A phantom of Wheatley, created by No. 1 in an attempt to distract Grady from the situation. Run by user @amethyst-big-dumb.
  • Beta Couple: He and Maverick are this to Wheatley and Grady.
  • Creepy Good: He's a monochrome eyeless version of Wheatley with a giant black ring around him. Despite this, he's a genuinely kind person.
  • Dork in a Sweater: Like the real Wheatley, he wears almost exclusively sweaters and generally warm clothing. He does have a reason, though - phantoms apparently don't produce any body heat, and this combined with the low temperatures of Aperture result in him being perpetually cold.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: He's jealous of the real Wheatley, seeing him as better than himself in every imaginable way. He doesn't necessarily hate him, however.
  • I Have Many Names: Due to his nature, he's gone by many different names:
    • No. 1 simply refers to him as "the phantom", or just "phantom". Amethyst and Jinx also refer to him as the former.
    • Most people who've never met him call him "Wheatley" or "Phantom Wheatley".
    • Altair calls him "Tom", a play on "phantom".
    • Maverick calls him "Gray", which he has begun to use as his official name.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Despite being incredibly jealous of and heartbroken by Grady's relationship with the real Wheatley, he never made any attempts to win Grady over, because he'd rather him be happy.
  • Jealous Romantic Witness: As a phantom, he's been forced to watch Grady have loving moments with the real version of himself time and time again.
  • Loves Me Not: It's revealed through a short fanfic that he often did this in the Mindscape, before he started dating Maverick.
  • Unrequited Love Lasts Forever: He stayed deeply in love with Grady even after he and Wheatley became official. However, this was subverted when he fell in love with Maverick and gradually fell out of his unhealthy infatuation with Grady.

    No. 1
Grady's first main phantom. Was irrationally afraid of him for most of his life, but is now trying to fix things between them. Uses Phantom Wheatley's blog in a similar fashion to Charlie/Solar.
  • Absurd Phobia: For whatever reason, he was terrified of Grady killing him and the other phantoms to the point where he refused to interact with him for thousands of years.
  • all lowercase letters: He has nearly the same typing style as Grady, which is never using capital letters except for when he's in a serious situation. However, the difference is that he uses proper punctuation more often.
  • Blatant Lies: When asked, he almost always just says that he's fine. However, one look at his thoughts as he says that proves that this is very clearly a lie.
  • Never Given a Name: Downplayed. He's referred to by everyone, including himself, as No. 1, just because he's the first phantom to show up - it's more of a title than a name. Emphasized by the fact that he's implied to have let other phantoms have real names, but never chose a true one himself.
  • Not So Stoic: He's been shown to suffer mental breakdowns and panic attacks at the hands of his own thoughts.
  • The Stoic: He doesn't show much emotion, instead choosing to suppress anything he feels due to a mishmash of many issues that mostly stem from his chronic paranoia.

    A.M.A. (Automative Maintenance Arms)
A literal robotic arm. Does "maintenance" around the facility regarding cores. Run by user @darkandlightsides.
  • Machine Monotone: Its theoretical voice is SCP-096 (the Plague Doctor), making it this by default.
  • Single-Task Robot: It does maintenance on Aperture's androids. That's pretty much all it does.
  • The Stoic: It was this before it gained emotions for the first time.

     Dr. Sky
A researcher sent to Aperture by the SCP Foundation to study it and contain any anomalies there.
  • Mysterious Past: Hinted at by several vague references and the blog description. We know she was sent by the Foundation, but what happened back there?
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: What's more evil? Killing someone or mind controlling someone to be your slave?
  • Fighting from the Inside: Of course, in the end she wins the fight.
Run by @n1ghtw1ng-scp.

     Melty
A half-human, half-baku girl from the song Melty Land Nightmare by Harumaki Gohan. Lives a lonely life on the Melty Land, unable to form meaningful connections with nearly anyone before they stop coming. Run by user @amethyst-big-dumb.
  • Break the Cutie: When Grady gets corrupted by Red, she has a panic attack trying to get ahold of him, her text becoming barely comprehensible due to her tears obstructing her vision. It doesn't help that Grady keeps ghosting her every time she tries to contact him.

     [REDACTED]
A mysterious disembodied collection of voices that have a thing for "helping" cores. Pops up in both the anons of other blogs and Wheatley's blog. Also known as Red.
  • Break Them by Talking: One of their favorite ways to "help" cores. Does this to Grady in order to corrupt him.
  • Emoticon: These are used frequently by them in an attempt to appear more friendly. (spoiler alert: it's DEFINITLEY not working)
  • Hive Mind: [REDACTED] is this, a hivemind made up of copies of the original [REDACTED] as well as various cores.
  • I Am Legion: They refer to themselves as "we" and "us" exclusively.
  • Manipulative Bastard: They are the textbook DEFINITION of this trope.
  • The Corrupter: They fit this role so well that most cores that they affect become LITERALLY corrupted!
  • Tricked to Death: They're tricked by Amethyst into letting her delete the specific unit hiding in Grady's head.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: [REDACTED] is a firm believer of the sentiment “Two wrongs make a right”. They claim to want to “help” people, and make them happy. But the method they choose to do so is manipulating and practically POSSESSING cores, and then using them to kill everyone deemed a “problem”.

Askers

    Amethyst
An angel who was trying to get a Goddess license through hopping between universes, before she got fired from her job for messing things up in the Dandelions universe so badly. She's the main catalyst for essentially the most important event in the roleplay, Wheatley's factory reset.

Her main blog is @amethyst-big-dumb.

  • Absurd Phobia: She's terrified of death... even though she's an angel who can't die.
  • Accents Aren't Hereditary: While Rick has some American southern accent, and Jinx is implied to have a slight British accent, it's unknown what accent Amethyst has - though it's probably neither of those two.
  • All-Loving Hero: She wants to give love to all the characters and help them realize their problems, even GLaDOs.
  • Angelic Abomination: Apparently, her true form is this. She just (understandably) would prefer not to use it.
  • Angels in Overcoats: If a huge oversized hoodie counts.
  • Black Sheep: Both her parents are Aperture androids. Meanwhile, Amethyst is an angel.
  • Break Them by Talking: She unintentionally does this to the characters multiple times. In one case, it caused Wheatley to do a hard reset. However, she did this on purpose when confronting GlaDos.
  • Break the Cutie: She's gradually becoming more overwhelmed and fed up with the situation, and it seems that it's only a matter of time before she snaps.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Her eyes have the same lavender-blue gradient as her hair.
  • Deuteragonist: She's been considered this, due to her major role in the story without actually being from the Portal games.
  • Family of Choice: Jinx and Rick treat her as their daughter, and she returns the favor by treating them as her parents.
  • Genki Girl: At least, she tries to be one.
  • Happily Adopted: She's this with Rick and Jinx.
  • High-Tech Heaven: She's a type of messenger angel who uses technology to send her messages. Her method of choice? Tumblr ask blogs. She also can use these to visit the dimension the blogger is from.
  • Mirror Character: She's this to Wheatley's younger, hot-from-the-press self, who is demonstrated during the reset arc. They share many similar traits, such as curiosity, innocence, and slight stupidity (maybe not so slight in Amethyst's case).
  • Nice Girl: She shows unconditional kindness to all the characters, never once being purposely rude to any of them... well, most of them. She's very openly against Redacted.
  • Our Angels Are Different: She doesn't exactly have a conventional appearance for an angel - she has long purple hair, and certainly doesn't dress the part either. She doesn't even have a halo or wings! However, justified in that she apparently chose this appearance herself.
  • Tricked to Death: She tricks Redacted into letting her delete, and therefore kill, the specific unit hiding in Grady's head, therefore saving Grady.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: She's constantly trying to help the cast with their mental health issues. Unfortunately, her methods can be… questionable. Questionable, as in, she pushes them to their very limit to reveal as much information as possible. As expected, this goes horribly wrong multiple times.

    Jinx
An immortal Aperture scientist who's been alive for too long, and has seen some... things. In love with their own creation.

Their main blog is @jinxcast.

    Bugs
An Aperture engineer. Nobody really knows why or how he's here. He's responsible for most of the Deez Nuts incidents.

Their main blog is @biggitybugs.

    Nightwing
A dragon/human hybrid with energy manipulation powers who works with the SCP Foundation going around universes for fun and data. She is the host of an anomaly known only as "Entity", which has their own separate personality and is generally evil.
  • Symbiotic Possession: Nightwing and Entity aren't good friends per se, but it is not a parasitic relationship. They draw on each other's powers and work together occasionally.
  • Kid with the Leash: Nightwing generally controls Entity's tendencies, so they have zero to little influence on her actions. However, every once in a while her control will slip and Entity will become the main personality.
  • Playing with Syringes: She was made into a hybrid by the Red Nexus (RN) research corporation, which does some unethical genetic experimentation.
  • Escaped from the Lab: And then immediately proceeds to escape, once she absorbs another one of the RN's experiments and gains her powers.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Self explanatory. Note that Nightwing chose to undergo the procedure of being turned into a hybrid, it was what the RN did AFTER that scarred her for life.
  • I Have Many Names: Her human name was Ava. After the RN got ahold of her, she was referred to as Recombinant 01 (since she was the first successful one) or simply RC-1. After escaping and destroying the RN, she renamed herself Nightwing Sky (it fits her because she's half night dragon.) Her friends call her "Night Sky" occasionally as a joke. The Foundation calls her SCP-7542, or Agent Sky depending on context.

Their main blog is @n1ghtw1ng-scp.

    Spotted
A sabertooth cat who may or may not be rabid.

Their main blog is @spottedbread.

    Echo
A person who really likes Glados.

Their main blog is @echolynn13.

  • Robosexual: And romantically. They become flustered almost every single time they interact with GLaDOS.

    Ghosta

It's Blog is @spritofaperture.

A spirit of a dead Aperture scientist with no memory of their life at the time of writing.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: Is shown to be usually calm in demeanor, but will be angry when someone is clearly at fault but refuses to accept it.

  • Ghost Amnesia: does not remember their life, just the date of their death

  • Hypocrite: Says anger is a waste of time, proceeds to be pissed at GLaDOS due to seemingly WORSEN the corruption of Wheatley at the time of writing

  • Unrequited Love Lasts Forever: They were in love with Caroline in their life, seeking answers as to if it's possible they ever see each other again, only to be shot down by GLaDOS in response, the response simply boils down to "She's dead, go cry about it loser."

  • Barred from the Afterlife: Ghosta has an unfinished business they cannot seem to remember, at the time of writing

  • Friendly Ghost: Ghosta is actually very nice if someone were to just sit down with them and be nice to them

  • Haunted Headquarters: They haunt the area known as "Old Aperture" unable to leave.

    Irene

Her Blog is @yalocalredscout.

  • Child Soldiers: Irene works for the Company Mann Co. under the Mercenary Position of "The Scout"

  • Troubled Teen: Irene has Issues she hasn't spoken about at the time of writing

  • A Mistake Is Born: Irene's Mother and Father made the Mistake of hooking up in their Sophomore year of College

  • Minor with Fake I.D.: Self-expanatory.

  • Heroic Bastard: Spoiler: her acting like a Bastard, is an act, sure she fits the definition OF a Bastard, but the rest of her personality is an act formed out of a coping mechanism.

    Anaira

fraudoktor-anaira is her blog

  • Combat Medic: working for RED under Mann co. she's essentially a combat medic with how much of a high value target she is in battle

  • Deadly Doctor: Anaira is not afraid to get blood on her hands, whether it's her own, or someone else's.

  • Herr Doktor: she's german.

  • Mad Doctor: Hasn't shown it in roleplay, but when approached by user Nightwing about the Gels in Aperture, she shows intrest, despite knowing how dangerous those can be

  • Doctor's Disgraceful Demotion: Has taken all the organs of a patient before her time at Mann Co.
