Main Story

Caelestites and Related Individuals

    Caelestites in General
  • Fantastic Rank System: Colossi have six levels, Level 1 being the best and Level 6 the lowest, which are equipped for speed and transport rather than fighting, and what Soroz actually is.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: Episode 13 reveals that the Colossi used to be unnamed and numbered, having once flew away with Caelestites from Eraveil and out of Astra because of an unknown situation, during a time when Francis was still around. Of the Caelestites piloting them, the one on Colossus 35—thusly named "35"—kept on talking on their terminal connected to other Caelestites, but when they gradually stopped replying for unknown reasons, 35 talked to the other Colossi and her Firefly, naming them, in turn causing all the machines' programming to learn from repeated processes and attain personalities.
  • Theme Naming: For an unknown reason, every Colossus's name ends with a "z" (Soroz, Mantiz, Aviduz, etc.). Episode 13 reveals they used to go by numbers, but were all renamed by a Caelestite of Colossus 35 during an exodus from Eraveil. She was inspired by their pilots' personalities, so she named 217 "Naviduz" from "navigator" because of its Caelestite's leader-like personality, and 982's was an irritable guy, hence "Solituz" from "solitude".

    Soroz
The flying Colossus that the Navigator is bonded to, who raised them for the 17 years prior to the start of the game.
  • Eldritch Location: While Soroz's interior is relatively normal in terms of appearance, the Navigator is clearly not entirely knowledgeable of all of the Colossus's functions, despite being effectively trapped inside it for 17 years; there are several rooms the Navigator has flat-out never visited, and when prompted by Aurorians, is able to generate entire furniture sets, apparently out of thin air, to fill up these barren rooms, from a mental vision the Colossus sends the Navigator psychically. Furthermore, several of these rooms include furniture and devices the Navigator themselves does not recognize or understand (though they are things that are commonplace to the Aurorians), leaving it ambiguous where the ideas for each room's layout are actually coming from.
  • Genius Loci: Soroz is both the Navigator's lifelong friend and the base where they operate out of.
  • Motivational Lie: Soroz told the Navigator that he was a "Sky-class" Colossus. However, Hiiro in Episode 4 reveals that the 'class' ranking does not exist and Soroz is actually a Level 6 Colossus, the weakest of Colossi who are equipped for life support, transportation, and speed (for fleeing). This was meant to keep the Navigator's spirits up during his years inside Soroz.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: Throughout the course of the main story, the Navigator's quest to gain Colossus modules upgrade and unlock new systems that come in handy. Of note is the Echo Template repair unit in Episode 10S, which upgrades the Life Support System into an Emergency Medical System and saves Reinhardt from critical injuries.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Both the physical Colossus and the form it takes when communicating look like giant dragons, though its physical form is white in color and more similar to a Western (mechanized) dragon, while its 'AI' form is golden and looks more serpentine.

    Mendelson
Another Caelestite who survived the fall of Eraveil, met in Episode 3. He pilots his own Colossus, Mantiz.
  • Deal with the Devil: During the fall of Eraveil, Mendelson ran into Schummer, already transformed into an Eclipsite. She decided to show mercy to him on account of his giving the key to let her out of her cell before this, and, wanting to live, Mendelson took Schummer's offer of Eclipsite power.

Illumina Federation

    The Science Council
A clandestine group of scientists who hold much knowledge and secrets that they could order around even the Grand Marshal herself. They are composed of four people: Algol, Barrett, Joyce, and Ulysses.

    Guardian One
An ancient artificial intelligence that manages all of Illumina's computations.

Rediesel Wrench

    Bopper
One of R.W.'s mechanics. She is the only one capable of piloting R.W.'s land-locked Colossus, Lepidoz.

    Lepidoz
A Colossus that Rediesel Wrench dug up in the desert and repaired for their use. Mysteriously, it only responds to Bopper, an Aurorian rather than a Caelestite.

Lumopolis

    Otto

Otto Troy

A prominent noble of Lumopolis Gardens, if a typical example of the city's high-class arrogance and politicking.

Trapped, they eventually got closer to each other and had Valencia and Gretel, until they met their demise at the hands of Eclipsites roaming the city.

Trees, Fish, and a Slow Life

    Count Anderson

Androma Anderson

Rich and altruistic head of the Anderson family, and Nina's overly doting father. His buying out Nina's products in every one of her stores angered her, leading to her run away for a job interview in Eraveil.
  • Boyfriend-Blocking Dad: He had ordered Minos to run background checks on any boy who gets near his little girl. When he hears about the Navigator, he explains that he's a Weirdness Magnet so Nina's better off kept away from him... though anyone can see he wouldn't have approved of the Navigator regardless.
  • Doting Parent: He's very much this towards his daughter, so much that he bought out all of her clothes in stores repeatedly. When Nina found out, she got mad at him and ran away to Eraveil to prove she can run a business without her father's help, although the harsh words have wounded him deeply enough that he didn't come out of his room or run family-related matters ever since.

Journey at Dawn

    Gary (Spoilers Unmarked)
The head of some bandits around Umbraton driven to treat all wondrous beasts with cruelty.

Fragmentary Vow

    Tara
A member of Rediesel Wrench. Born and grown in the desert, she has a tough outlook that makes her glad for Adonis' soft kindness, but disappointed when he cowers from telling his parents about them as a couple. After an attack in which she pretends to be unconscious, she concocts a plan to reveal the depths of her fiancée's feelings for her by pretending to have lost memories of their relationship, leading to a trip around Astra to recover her memories.

    Adonis
Tara's fiancée. Though kind-hearted, he has never been out of Northland and recklessly considered eloping with Tara to avoid his parents' disapproval. The show of cowardice has led to Tara creating a complex plan where she pretends to have amnesia and see the depth of Adonis' feelings for her, which in turn leads to their trip around Astra.

    Adonis' Parents
Adonis' father and mother.

    Sable
An Eclipsite woman who can speak Universese. She lacks any memory of her past and, wanting to discover her memory, was able to convince Kya to disguise her and let her tag along with Tara and Adonis' trip all over Astra.

Summer's Breeze and the Port of Hope

    Elvis

Elvis Modali

The laird of Harbor City, heir to House Modali that heroically protected the city from Eclipsites in ancient times. Despite his sickly body, his gentle and kind personality has earned him the favor of his people. In his youth, he was a childhood friend of Jeno.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: He harbored distrust of Lumopolis and Illumina that he didn't tell anyone, not even his friend Jeno, about his plan to recharge the Windstone with an alternative source; he feared Lumopolis would not take him and the Windstone seriously, Illumina might seize the Windstone for themselves, and Jeno would prioritize his ship and its inhabitants. This leads to the main crux of both parts of Summer's Breeze happening:
    • Had he trusted Carleen and Jeno in the first part, they wouldn't have gotten in his way of taking the Emerald's energy core and let him recharge the Windstone, especially since it's for the sake of those struck with Modali Syndrome. Elvis self-deprecatingly lampshades this in the second part of the story.
    • At the start of the second part, Gronru dismissively notes that the Emerald's energy core has impure energy. This would have been very helpful to know before Elvis decided to use its energy for the Windstone, which it was incompatible with and malfunctioned as a result.
  • Delicate and Sickly: The Modali Syndrome is a mysterious disease that keeps Elvis and those of his bloodline sickly, though no researcher was able to determine the cause of it. It's later revealed that "Modali Syndrome" is an effect of his ancestors submitting their blood to the Windstone, an ancient artifact that seals Eclipsites within the entirety of Harbor City in exchange for sucking up the Lumina of those it is genetically registered with, which is everyone related to the Modalis.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He fought and nearly killed his own best friend Jeno and the Navigator and co. to take the energy core of the Emerald. This was all for the sake of recharging the Windstone, the true source of Modali Syndrome, and alleviate its burden on his people it takes Lumina from.

Farewell, My "Wonderland"

    Anne
A nun the Navigator meets when he flies to the ruined town of Euphoria. She had left its cesspool of gangs, though now decided to come back to see a friend there. One, though, has to wonder how she plans to make her way on her lonesome in somewhere so dangerous...

    Nekoyashiki
A member of Odd Jobs operating in Euphoria. He is the Navigator's and Corax's contact for Raven's Blood.

    Schewe and Latan
A white-haired boy (Schewe) and girl (Latan) duo amongst the orphans being taken care of by Raven's Blood. They are the focus characters of the Street Errand portion of Farewell, My "Wonderland".
  • Bandaged Face: Downplayed; they've been injured recently by other cruel street dwellers, so they're bandaged in thankfully few places during their introduction, those on their face standing out. The twins have their right sides covered, though Schewe has a simple band-aid over his right eye, while Latan has her entire right side covered.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Though they got some screentime in Farewell, My "Wonderland", they become central to the plot of Street Errand where the Navigator tries to get candy for them, only for the three of them to fall prey to a conniving shopkeeper.

    Boaz
The greatest diviner of Northland, and Jakine's mother. Though not much about her besides her occupation is known, let alone her reasons for leaving her family, she was a heavy drinker in her youth, which did not at all dull her divinations.

A Thousand-Year Vigil

    Marcela
Before he became the Silent Hunter known as Regal, the man known as Adras had a loving wife. She was a woman who cannot bear to see others hurt, a compassion that made her see beneath the hero her newfound husband was.
