Awesome Music / The Legend of Dragoon

  • The battle themes are all awesome, and are each accompanied by their own unique victory themes.
    • Battle 1 begins dramatically but quickly turns into a fun romp against the monsters or mooks.
    • Battle 2 is more of a field battle theme, and it comes off as safari-like at first, then takes a turn for the dramatic. It even sounds a bit desperate just before going back to the safari-like tune.
    • Battle 3 takes place in the Wingly cities only. It has a distinctive and unusual tune that makes it clear this isn't a place for you to be at.
  • The four boss themes, as with the normal battle themes, all have a unique victory theme! Well, except for the Final Boss theme.
    • Boss Battle 1 is pretty basic, but it conveys the urgency that this is one guy who needs to be brought down.
    • Boss Battle 2 is a rocking tune that quickly makes it clear you're in for a rough time.
    • Boss Battle 3. This theme is Oh, Crap! in a nutshell, and the bosses who use it tend to be some of the strongest in the game.
    • Last Battle is, appropriately enough, the theme of the Final Boss. It alternates in tempo in the middle of the song, never staying consistent so as to convey just how chaotic this battle really is.
  • Royal Castle is equal parts regal and peaceful. It fits in nicely with a peaceful kingdom.
  • Sorrow captures the tragedy of seeing Lavitz being fatally injured and dying in Dartz's arms.
  • Black Castle/Vellweb is a haunting and sinister theme. For the dungeon leading up to the Disc-One Final Boss, it captures the sense that this is not a place to get complacent. For the city of Vellweb, it sets up the uneasiness that this place is no longer the bastion of hope it was 11,000 years ago.
  • Crystal Palace is a breathtaking song that captures perfectly how beautiful the castle of Mille Seaseau is. It continues to play even after the Divine Dragon's assault on the place, where it comes off as a bit somber from the Scenery Gorn.
  • This theme plays at the Barrens, the Death Frontier, and at Zenebatos, conveying a sense of desolation. In the latter-most case, it shows how degenerate the city of law is while under autonomous control.
  • Dead City is a dark and dreary theme for a city that specializes in handling the souls of the dead in the worst possible way.
  • If You Still Believe is a beautiful song that also serves as the primary theme of the entire game. The lyrics give insight on what the characters are like and what their true goal is.
