As a Moments subpage, all spoilers are unmarked as per policy. You Have Been Warned.

  • In a surprise performance that highlights not only Catherine O'Hara's singing voice and a rare performance for Moira that is not unintentionally funny, Moira and the Jazzagals perform "Baby I'm Yours" during Alexis's graduation. It's a moment of pure joy, as Moira not only attends Alexis's graduation but sings about her love for her daughter, who had been hiding her hurt that her mother had chosen not to attend. It represents Character Development for both Alexis and Moira, as neither mother nor daughter appeared to particularly care about each other when the series began.
  • In a deeply romantic Serenade Your Lover moment, Patrick serenades David with an acoustic cover of Tina Turner's "Simply the Best" at Rose Apothecary's open mic night. David had feared that Patrick would embarrass him with a combination of a bad singing and an uncomfortable emotional display, but David, along with Moira and the rest of the audience, are touched by Patrick's performance. In a later episode, there is a Call-Back as David apologizes to Patrick with a ridiculous but romantic lip-synch to the original Tina Turner version. Actor Noah Reid recorded his version of the song and the proceeds benefit The Trevor Project.
  • During the Christmas Episode, Twyla and the Jazzagals perform "Silent Night" at the Rose family's Christmas party instead of leaving to carol at the nursing home. Not only is Johnny moved by the performance, so are the rest of the party guests. Since Twyla is played by Eugene Levy's real-life daughter, it's a safe bet that the actor was enjoying her performance as much as the character.
  • In a moment showing her Character Development from the shallow relationships of her past, Alexis abandons her attempt to find a casual hookup at a bar because she still has genuine feelings for Ted. Fittingly, the moment is set to "Adore" by Amy Shark, which sets the perfect romantic-yet-melancholy tone.
  • The use of "Precious Love" by James Morrison during the season 2 finale makes it extra hard not to smile during what is already an incredibly heartwarming moment.
  • In a ridiculously catchy parody of mid-oughts socialite music singles, Annie Murphy and the band Hollerando wrote the song "A Little Bit Alexis" and released it as a single. As Alexis, Murphy performs a version when she auditions for her mother's production of Cabaret. Murphy later performed a duet version of the song with Kelly Clarkson on Clarkson's talk show, with special lyrics penned for Clarkson.
  • After he's come out to his parents and the party guests have gone, Patrick dances with David to Aqualung's "Brighter than Sunshine.", and Patrick reveals he figured out that his parents already knew, but he also says it's been one of the happiest nights of his life. The music underscores the liberation Patrick feels now that he's out and found happiness with David.
  • Patrick and Stevie are worried about their dance routine for "The Money Song" in Cabaret and have been taking private dance lessons, while David distracts Moira. Moira comes upon a secret rehearsal, with David in tow, and witnesses Patrick and Stevie's athletic dancing and lively singing and is impressed enough to take the credit. Noah Reid and Emily Hampshire both stated the number was one of the hardest things they've ever done.
  • The Season 5 finale showcases opening night of Moira's production of Cabaret and two numbers from the show, "Wilkommen" featuring Patrick (Noah Reid) as the Emcee and "Maybe this Time" featuring Stevie (Emily Hampshire) as Sally Bowles. Stevie's performance as Sally is particularly poignant as she is dealing with her Best Friend and former lover's engagement and the possibility of her loved ones moving beyond the motel and the town. Moira, as her director and surrogate mother, has told her how much she admires her and this has buoyed her, along with seeing her friends happy.
  • In the Series Finale, David and Patrick get married, and there are several call backs to previous musical moments. Moira, Johnny, and Stevie walk down the aisle to the Jazzagals singing "Precious Love" and Alexis walks David down the aisle to Tina Turner's "The Best." Then, Patrick sings Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby" to David as part of his vows.
  • In 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the cast reunited via video conference to sing, in-character, the Mariah Carey song "Heroes" to teachers, professors and graduates, with Mariah herself crashing the call at the end.
