Awesome / Street Fighter 6

Go To

  • The Versus Character Splash shows both contenders walking to the battleground with the hype of professional wrestlers making their way to the ring. Manon, for example, who’s got so much confidence that she struts along like a model on a fashion show catwalk. The subsequent close-ups of the fighters' faces also drew favorable comparisons to Soulcalibur II.
  • For the first time since Street Fighter IV, every character now has their own animation at the Continue screen (as opposed to it simply being an overlay in SFV). Naturally, opting to do so has them push on for one more round.
  • This game has some of the best supers in the franchise, and a good one to start with is Zangief. The move may just be an SPD with more pomp and circumstance, but the sheer hype and damage makes the move memorable. "MY LOYAL FANS! Witness my full might! NO MERCY! NO REMORSE!"
    • Ken's legendary Shippu Jinraikyaku returns! Now in all of the RE Engine's glory.
      • Ken's Level 3 Super is a combination of two returning favorites, the Shoryureppa and the Shinryuken, creating the Shinryureppa. If he uses it as his critical art, he punctuates it with a final punch while telling his opponent to...
      "Sit down, and shut up!"
    • Cammy has a new super attack that pays homage to her signature scene from Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. Her Level 3 and CA give us a lightning-fast blitz of well-aimed Spiral Arrows to bring her opponent to their knees so she can finish them off.
    • As for A.K.I., while her Level 3 and CA are Nightmare Fuel, they're Creepy Awesome in their presentation. Never before has a super looked so violating.
"We shall increase the dosage... to a fatal degree. Farewell."
    • Dee Jay whips out the ultimate in Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs for his Level 3, but his CA shows us that he knows how to freestyle as well, accidently knocking the opponent away and then sliding under them to keep up his beatdown.
    • JP has a super where he makes Spikes of Villainy erupt from you. Cool enough, but when he loses his cool? Try an ENTIRE EXPLODING TOWER of spikes!
"Care to hear how this ends? In ruin."
    • Ryu's trusty Shin Shoryuken looked painful enough before he added Shock and Awe to it for his CA.
    • Luke takes his opponent to Memphis as he caves their face in on the floor. His Level 2 is no slouch, being his Street Fighter V super with the added bonus of bouncing his opponent off the floor with his hits on an air connect.
    • Manon proves that the one thing more painful than a command grab super is a command grab super with singing. And dancing, with her being skilled enough to throw her foes in ballet positions that she matches.
    • Ever wanted to see a Raging Typhoon meet Rule of Funny? Thank Lily and her Critical Art. Even then, seeing a Little Miss Badass ragdolling the likes of Zangief and Marisa? Talk about being strong!
    • Jamie takes his opponent to a Hong Kong action movie to demonstrate his pure skill, being able to counter every other fighter's attempt to attack him after they get up. Then, he crushes their windpipe. Ouch.
"This is our destiny... My secret art!"
    • Juri's getting better with that weaker eye it seems, as her Kaisen Dankairaku makes a welcome return. Not only that, but her CA has her scoop you off the ground with her foot just to watch you suffer a bit more and tease you.
      "That felt good, didn't it?"
    • Chun-Li whips out similar Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs in her Level 3 to Dee Jay, surprising for the archetypal Kick Chick. Her beautiful sequence of attacks is elegant and cool, but her CA has them send you directly into the screen.
    • E. Honda gets to do show off how unstoppable he is in his element by using his opponent's feet to create a flaming Sumo ring and easily sending them to the floor. But for his CA, they stop just short after he flings them across the ring, only for him to finish the job with his headbutt.
    • Dhalsim shows us why you should Beware the Nice Ones as he combines Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs with Rubber Man, finishing it by teleporting to you in the air to bring you down to earth with his drill headbutt.
"Your judgement awaits! Agni... lend me your power!"
    • Rashid creates an entire tornado to acrobatically kick you around in. Rashid himself hight be deadlier than the raging wind.
"Here comes Rashid... for your viewing... pleasure!"
    • Marisa embeds you in a wall with a Megaton Punch or two. In her CA, she stamps a heart on your face with her fist in a way that almost looks like she tore your face off.
"Take my love! Take... ALL OF IT!!"
    • Kimberly gives a combination of music and art as she puts on her headphones to hijack the soundtrack and takes to the air to practically fly as she leaves a grafitti tag, with a particular use of red paint at the end.
    • Guile shows us that two special moves is all you need by chaining a Flash Kick into a Sonic Boom, and then a Somersault Justice if it's his CA.
    • Blanka's Level 3 shows off both his ferocity and natural power by delivering multiple brutal face bites to his opponent before launching them skyward and following up with an electrically-charged Rolling Attack. The CA variant even has him drilling down into them with even more powerful blue lightning.
"You want the beast?! You'll get the beast!"
    • Ed uses Psycho Power to string up his opponent like a punching bag and deliver a powerful series of punches as they remain trapped, before finishing it off with a devastating uppercut. His CA variant tops this off with a Psycho Flicker to pull them down to his level as he hammers their face into the dirt.
"I ain't losing! Not to anyone!!"
  • In A.K.I.'s Arcade Mode, she manages to succeed where Kimberly, Cammy, Ken, and the Avatar failed. Not only does she defeat JP, but unlike the other characters, she also manages to leave him genuinely shaken after the fight, making it clear that F.A.N.G's orders are the only reason he's still alive. Now THAT'S how you introduce a new villain.
  • Some of the introductory cutscenes for the Legendary fighters in World Tour qualify:
    • Marisa halts a charge from a massive lion and lifts it over her head like a kitten.
    • Zangief taking on a tag team of two other wrestlers with ease. Though he is momentarily stunned by their cross bomber he counters with his Double Lariat, sending them flying away.
    • Jamie takes down a couple of Canary Crate Gang members with his stylish breakdancing moves.
    • Ryu is shown practicing his martial arts underneath a cherry blossom tree... and unleashes an utterly beautiful Shoryuken where the falling cherry blossom petals form a dragon rising to the sky.
  • Completing the World Tour has your Avatar in the credits, at major story beats and the training under every Master. And not simply by imposing scenes, but by outright saving silent snapshots of your character at that exact moment in the game, meaning you get to see your progress (and radical changes) throughout the entire game in retrospect, from the spar with Bosch to the fight with JP.
