  • The fact that this game was able to be made at all, after dedicated fans begging for it for 13 years and some even donating to help fund it.
  • Loboto gets a moment in the beginning sequence, wherein he manages to realise that he's being inceptioned by the Psychonauts and turns the tables on them, literally hijacking the mental landscape of the office building they were using to fool him and supplanting it with his own mental projections, causing the whole building to warp as twist around himself as he easily evades Raz's attempts to keep up with him, showing impressive mental defenses and control over his own mindscape. Loboto might have been psychic once, but the lobotomy his parents gave him removed that capacity from him, so being able to keep 5 psychic intruders firmly on the defensive as they struggle to proceed deeper into his subconscious is no easy feat with the mental ability of an ordinary person.
    • Special note goes to the gigantic duplicate Loboto 'operating' on his patient's mouth throughout the sequence, at multiple points easily tossing the Psychonauts around through his ministration of the 'patient Loboto' and acting as their biggest impediment to progressing inside his mind.
  • The memory vaults reveal the legendary battle between the Psychic Six and Maligula was one for the ages. Special mention goes to Compton rallying an army of grizzly bears against her! Too bad it didn't help so much...
    • Moreso one for Maligula in showing how six super-powerful psychics failed against her in the end. Shows just how much a juggernaut Maligula really is!
  • Jack Black plays a brain in a jar that has a sudden burst of sensory stimulus when it's placed back into a body. This creates a psychedelic mental landscape full of color and music. He even breaks out into a full-on rock opera to express his joy from being able to feel again.
    • Honestly, the Brain in a Jar level is awesome just from the Psychedelic '60s feel to it, and the fact you learn the Time Slow power in this level just adds to it and the rockband finale is fantastic - especially when a Nightmare taking the form of Maligula appears: The entire band eventually uses Time Slow to basically lock Nightmare Maligula in a powerful Time Stop move, just so you can beat it up.
  • One of Raz's new powers, the Mental Projection power lets him create a 2D copy of himself. The copy is voiced by Rosearik Rikki Simons a.k.a. Gir from Invader Zim.
  • The fact that Raz was able to fix Hollis Forsythe's mind by himself after tampering with it via Mental Connections. Even better, this was something that Hollis admitted she was unable to do after she tried to change the mind of her Bad Boss, Dr. Potts.
  • At the end of the Lady Luctopus casino mission, every single present character there gets to show what they can do and it is glorious! From Hollis Forsythe's masterful planning to Sasha Nein and Camilla Vodello performing their tasks incredibly fast, to all the interns helping Raz with their special abilities to Raz himself making the journey and finding a hidden Room Full of Crazy that apparently belongs to the Big Bad.
  • You can notice Compton's rising confidence as the cookoff goes on. First, he gives a basic play-by-play description of the Grulovian Drowned Egg's boiled eggs, warranting Raz to describe how they played with the salt, then Compton attempts to refer to infusing the Strawberry Jam Croque Madam, choking and requiring Raz to bail him out. Then for the Honey Pepper Pancake Stacker, the order is reversed as Raz sets up Compton to describe the horizontality and flavor profile of the stack. The subsequent fight with the goats is mostly getting the food to Compton and then feeding it to the goats; it's Compton who actually cooks it while you run about and avoid the goats' attacks.
  • While it is a tearjerker of the highest caliber, there's something to be said about Razputin fixing Ford's broken mind. Even if it's implied that he's still not back to 100% entirely in the aftermath, Ford is at least able to mentally stay in one piece, able to move and walk around without being chained to a massive lump of Psytanium and can even help Raz out with their dual exploration of Nona/Maligula's mind.
  • There is something palpably triumphant and bittersweetly uplifting about the moment Bob starts literally breaking out of his spiral of grief and social withdrawal during the final fight of Bob's Bottles.
Raz: How could you do this to Bob?! You love him!
Plant Helmut: "Love"? I don't really love him! If I did, how could I have left him all alone?
Bob: Helmut... Helmut would... NEVER say that!
  • The final battle against Maligula, and the final phase involving the return of Goggalor Raz so they can have a giant monster fight in a flooded city.
    • Before that, Raz gets help again from his fellow interns throughout the fight, using their mastered power to help Raz and hinder Maligula:
      • Sam commands Maligula's own water snakes to hit her, before making an entry with a huge whale to break Maligula's visage in the wall of water.
      • Lizzie freezes the water around the arena while Adam uses his yoyo to dispel Maligula's water vortex. Maligula herself gets one when she catches Adam's yoyo through the dispelled vortex and crushes it... only for Adam to reveal that he has a spare under his hat.
      • Gisu levitates the entire boss arena platform to separate it from the water, while Norma uses a fire blast to evaporate Maligula's water vortex.
      • Morris reveals that he's the one who got everyone else to join in the fight, by broadcasting the incident to the others via K.L.O.B., and is implied to be the one projecting their astral Projections into Raz's Battle in the Centre of the Mind from back in the Motherlobe, using Coach Oleander's old broadcasting equipment to amplify and transmit their brainwaves to reach Raz, exactly like the Coach himself accidentally did back in Whispering Rock. He also ejects Raz to safe footing using his unique levitation ability to conjure floating nets even as Maligula uses her power to blast his Projection apart, just before the floating platform they were fighting on impacts with the City's dam, letting Raz carry on to finish the fight with Maligula with Nona's support.
    • Nona getting the final blow in against her darker half, and the being that was ultimately the cause of so much destruction and death, not to mention personal guilt to her. Dangling over the cliff edge over the massive hole leading towards Nona's subconscious mind, Maligula taunts her and Raz that they cannot kill her, as she's part of Nona's mind, and as long as she lives, Maligula will always return. Raz, showcasing his matured empathy throughout his experiences, brushes off her claims, literally and emotionally supporting Nona as she faces the embodiment of her past regrets, letting her know that he forgives her for her sins, and loves her regardless of who she once was. Nona draws a pair of scissors, looking like she's about to stab Maligula and end her threat, regardless of the cost to herself— before instead using them to neatly shear away the part of her robes that Maligula was holding onto, letting the twisted mockery of herself fall into the darkness where she belongs.
  • When Raz is promoted to Junior Agent, his Item Get! sequence becomes more formal, Raz slowly steps onto the dias and stands at attention with his arms folded behind his back instead of assuming his Pstandard Psychic Pstance while the Agent badge flies onto his lapel. When he straps on his goggles, they glow a brilliant red as sparkles appear around him and a low orchestral hit plays. The camera whirls around him, before diving onto his badge. James Bond-like, indeed.
