Notably it covers all aspects of WWII naval warfare in submarine and antisubmarine warfare, carrier duels, and battleship slugging matches. note The actual capital ship lineup was 24 carrier shipgirls, 22 battleship shipgirls, and 6 battlecruiser shipgirls referenced or shown on-screen. The Abyssal carrier force was 57 fleet and light carriers under command of Middle Passage Princess.

First, she saved the young girl Sugihara Kaya whom she is tutoring in magic from a bombing run with a barrier spell, then when she realizes that the Abyssals are attacking worldwide and that her family will be doing what they can do to help, she resolves to do the right thing despite being under a suspended sentence of death for the war crimes that she facilitated during World War Two. She goes to where her true body is locked away to retrieve it without authorization so that she can use her full power and skills to cast a self-renewing and self-sustaining magical barrier spell over most of Kyoto using a synthesis of all the magic that she has studied and mastered. When called to account for her breaking the terms of her parole afterward along with violating the Statute of Secrecy, she merely wishes to gift Kaya her empty scabbard to remember her by after her execution. Fortunately for her and Kaya, Emperor Akihito views that her disobedience of her terms of imprisonment was justified by the situation and merely commands her to get authorization first if she has to do that again to save innocent lives.

She leads her newborn sisters in a Disney song and dance number that incinerates everything in her path to "Let it Burn" before she heads out to find her mother Naka as the volcano erupts behind her to consume the base.
  • Shinano's Let's Get Dangerous! moment during Operation UNDERTOW when she finally rises above her angst over being an inefficient carrier conversion of a battleship hull as she chooses to sail into a close-quarters battle no other carrier could survive.
Shinano looked over at Ayase and the Winds escorting her clear of the clash of fleets.

"Then you don't need my help to perform your duties... but my sisters do. My friends and loved ones do. Regina does. Harry does." Shinano spoke to herself. "And I will stand by them. Forever."

With that Shinano suddenly turned hard starboard rudder to double back her course as her telegraphs rang for flank speed.

As Shinano moved onto her new course straight into the pitch black of the ash cloud ahead, the Winds and Ayase joined up with her.

Akagi screamed at the other carrier. "Shinano! What are you doing?! That battle is no place for a carrier!"

Shinano steadied on her new course of two seven zero. "But I am a Yamato-class carrier. I have the belt armor to take the punishment of the battle ahead. My loved ones need me. Japan needs me. And every ship must do her duty today."

Then, when the ritual's disruption triggers a major Abyssal attack aimed at the wizarding town of Kingsport, Delilah hastily figures out what's happening along with a way to divert the Abyssals to buy time with a Heroic Sacrifice while calling in Zamarad and her contacts in the US Navy. The result is a fairly epic battle to protect the town by some third-line shipgirls seconded to the FBI, along with Zamarad revealing her true potential power level in a desperate attempt to come to Delilah's aid no matter what! Not to mention, the cover-up by the Winters Network and the US Government successfully prevents a major Statute break along with reassuring TOTEM that the Muggles are still clueless about their existence.
