  • When Bina is six, she tells her grandmother that she's always scared of monsters, despite the fact her parents keep telling her that monsters aren't real. Her grandmother tells her that monsters do exist, that she has met them before, and she never let them win. And when Bina's mother gets on her case about it, we see where Bina gets her badassery from.
Bina's mother: You do NOT tell a six-year-old that MONSTERS are real. Especially not a six-year-old with an anxiety related sleeping disorder! Were you trying to scare her to death?
Bina's grandmother: Scare her to death? That's what YOU'RE doing, with your silly notions that monsters aren't real.
Bina's mother: Mom, she's afraid of ghosts, and vampires. And crazy things she sees on TV. This is not the same thing.
Bina's grandmother: Is IS the same thing. You're telling her not to be afraid because monsters aren't real. You know what that teaches her? [...] It teaches her that if monsters WERE real, that she'd be right to be afraid of them. Is that what you want for her? For her to ALWAYS be afraid? [...] And then what happens when she meets a real monster? Because she will, you know she will. We ALL meet monsters in our lives. Maybe not the vampire-ghosts she's afraid of now, but everyone meets their monsters. It's part of being human.
Bina's mother: I just want to keep her safe. I want her not to be scared anymore. Can't you see that?
Bina's grandmother: You can't protect her from the whole world. What if she MARRIES one of them? What then? At best she will run, that's if she even knows what's happening. She'll think she's crazy because YOU taught her that monsters aren't real. Do you want that? Do you want her to run? Do you want her to let them eat her? [...] Or, when they come, and they WILL come, do you want her to FIGHT?
  • When Kendra disappears after touching Gregor's TV, Bina breaks time with a brick to get her back.
  • Bina is very determined to save everyone, no matter how many time shenanigans she has to pull off. She and Kendra use three different time machines to rescue Elizabeth, while she's falling mid-air.
  • When Melissa is surrounded by the Naughts, Amie waltzes right into their midst and distracts them long enough for Melissa to make her escape. Not bad for someone who has only been involved in this madness for a few hours at most.
  • The previous iterations of Bina created borderline impossible technology: bombs powered by paradoxes, a portable slice of the universe where time stands still, and all kinds of time machines.
  • The Final Battle against the Botfly is epic.
    • Emmie and Amie need to distract Gregor, who has Naughts and the Hound under his command. The Hound has been downright unstoppable before, so in order to counteract it, Bina goes into the dreams of her past self and borrows an imaginary purple tyrannosaurus from the ghost of her grandmother, right under the Botfly's nose. Crazy Enough to Work doesn't even begin to describe it.
    • Then Kendra and Bina go to the factory on the day of Josephine's experiment. Bina gets caught by the Botfly's accomplice and it looks like they failed to stop the experiment, but then Bina reveals that they have already succeeded: Kendra had secretly attached the "life raft" to Josephine's device, which saved everyone from the Botfly's clutches.
Bina: I'm not the only time traveler. I'm just the backup.
    • Of course, saving so many people from a century ago creates incredible amounts of paradox, which powers up a universe-destroying bomb that Bina has brought with her. And when even that isn't enough to kill the Botfly and it starts attacking Bina in person, tearing up the loop she's in, Twelve comes to her rescue and uses the Flyswatter to finish off the Eldritch Abomination.
    • Even with their enemy defeated, this loop is breaking apart. Bina Thirteen has the Slingshot that can get them and everyone who's currently inside the life raft out of there. Then Twelve realizes that something is wrong and sticks Thirteen into the life raft, rather than using it on herself. When she opens the settings on the Slingshot, we see that because of all the damage the Botfly caused, it can transport the life raft, but not the user. Twelve stays behind in a collapsing universe to save everyone.
Twelve: What do you know Thirteen... You were right. Guess we're not that bad after all.
