Chapter 4: When The Title Spoils The Plot

The heroes arrive on Tameran, and the problem is obvious- The Void is much larger than it is on Earth, and Galfore says it's pulling the planet in. The Titans realize it's unnatural, and have no idea what to do. As they think of strategies, the minions arrive, able to survive in space (although given Starfire can do the same, this isn't all that unusual). On Count Logan and Dr. Beljar's orders, they plan to cause enough chaos so that The Void expands and engulfs the planet.

If you saw the title, "The end of Tameran(sic)", it's obvious that the heroes aren't going to succeed here, and even without that, the heroes' track record against the Minions doesn't inspire much confidence that they can thwart the first stage of the villains' plan.

The Teen Titans and Doom Patrol yell at them to stop, but the villains, having a great time, are unimpressed, and eagerly await trouncing more weaklings. Their arrogance is actually well founded, as Sir Vile singlehandedly captures all the Doom Patrol in a trap reminiscent of the one The Brain used in the flashback (when previously, it was only established that he was a "Forever Knight" with lightning powers), Medeva takes out Robin and Starfire with her fiery Breath Weapon, and Kamica effortlessly dispatches Cyborg and Raven with her sword. When Galfore tries to intervene, the three minions turn on him and he is casually "Windows Movie Maker Shatter Effected to death."

The heroes, especially Starfire (for whom Galfore was a Parental Substitute), are horrified, but have no time to mourn him, as The Void has grown so large that Tamaran is being destroyed (by contrast, in World 6 of Paper Mario, the tournament and Count Bleck's interference resulted in Mario being delayed long enough that the Void consumed the world, even though some of the later challengers stood aside to let Mario through)., and everyone else dies the same way as Galfore. The heroes evacuate (with the shot being the same as when they came to the planet), and Starfire helplessly watches as Tamaran explodes and is sucked into The Void.

Count Logan and his followers engage in some Evil Gloating, and he's not all that concerned that the heroes escaped. Dr. Beljar seems especially pleased at that, drawing Kamica and the other minions's suspicion. Count Logan says to keep destroying worlds, but to leave Terra alone (Interestingly enough, Count Bleck didn't know that Timpani was alive as Tippi until the last level).

As the minions set out, Dr. Beljar smugly plots to overthrow Count Logan, while Count Logan points out that no one can stop the prophecy or the storm inside him. That line sounds vaguely like a reference to Frozen, but while Mykan is a notorious plagiarist, TEoE came out in May of 2010, more than three years before Elsa climbed a mountain, embraced her magical powers and built a castle of ice while singing. Meanwhile, a shadowy figure vows to stop Count Logan.

Next Installment: The leader of the enemy and a new ally are revealed.
