MLLSD Omake 8: Alcohol Impaired Judgment

After a match, the three tankery judges go get something to eat, but get approached by Saori and Hana, who offer a gift. Two of them are appreciative, but the third gives a Big "NO!" in response.

As the three go out for drinks, Remi Takashima, the one with the ponytail, says that the one with the glasses, Kanon Sasagawa, is a "meany," but Kanon, the one with the glasses, says that the Oarai girls would have gotten in trouble if there was any suspicion of bribery. Hibiki Inatomi, the one with the dark hair, is amused at the exchange. Kanon says that it was hard on her to say no, with a flashback showing her desperately refusing while her eyes are spewing tears and her stromach is growling, but they have to be careful, given that there are many beginners at Oarai. It's an interesting while still comedic look at the ethics of being a judge. Hibiki then leads into a story about how Rabbit Team wasn't sure what to expect with a judge, and she pretended to act like a baseball umpire bfore saying "It's a lie, Pyon," much to Aya and Karina's amusement and Kanon's dismay.

Remi says that she wants to play with the kids from Pravda, and has an Imagine Spot of her teasing Nonna by suggesting that she's a mother. Kanon's slightly amused, but insists that the other two take their work more seriously. They then counter that Kanon is Not So Above It All, as she often partakes in Anzio's parties, but Kanon says that they're a reward for all the people involved, that the cooking is delicious and the only downside is the lack of booze.

The three judges are getting increasingly tipsy, and as Saori and Miho pass by talking about fan letters, they bemoan their lack of success with the opposite sex, with Kanon particularly upset. Kanon then does an impersonation of Ami, as the others mock her "120 percent hit rate line," (which, admittedly, may have been a bit of a joke on Saori) and as she does a "Good job! Very Nice!", Ami shows up behind her (with a seamless transition from Kanon-as-Ami's face to that of the real Ami), and plans on joining in, much to their horror.

All in all, this was nicely done, and one of the better omakes, since it expanded into a previously unseen area.

Next Installment: Miho and Saori look at photos of Kay.
