Go go, Dream Rangers!

Ariadne is hooked on "pure creation."

And Arthur shows her how to dream up M. C. Escher's Stairwell, while calling it something else entirely because fuck giving credit where it's due. (Actually more likely because if he'd called it "the Escher staircase" she would have known exactly what was happening.)

Mrs. Cobb is dead? What a shock.

And we have our team:

Ariadne's projections are pretty quick to start getting hostile towards Arthur, despite her talking about how they're not.

We have the plan. We even have a reason to feel good about the plan instead of "lol we're gonna fuck up this guy's empire For the Evulz." Have I mentioned I like this movie? 'Cause I like this movie.

Next: Ariadne dream-eavesdrops.

Actually, no, Penrose stairs were invented by mathematician Roger Penrose(as were several other famous impossible figures, like the tribar), though M. C. Escher did use them brilliantly in Ascending and Descending.

Crediting the staircase to the actual person who invented it but hardly anyone outside of mathematics and programming has heard of instead of the person who popularized it was one of the things I liked best about this movie. :)
