At issue:
How to best permanently display/link to the Echo Chamber videos on the main trope page for the subject trope.

The Embed in place of the page image for at least the first week isn't negotiable. It will be there. This is for what comes after each video is no longer the latest one.

How long the embed stays will most likely be determined by watching the stats, not by vote.

Remove the embed after a set time period and put an icon in the icon cluster (i.e., with the "Laconic", "Quotes", "Image Links", "Discussion", etc. icons).

Pros:
  • noticeable
  • could link to anywhere, including a page with the other vids,
  • will look completely normal.

Cons:
  • Not as noticeable as the embedded videos,
  • would make it harder to find the trope of the week,
  • may decrease number watching video.
+10 (yeas:17 nays:7)
Remove the embed after a set period of time and make a link below the icon bar (like the "Reviews" link.)

Pros:
  • Somewhat noticeable,
  • we could link to anywhere, including a page with the other vids,
  • will look completely normal.

Cons:
  • Not as noticeable as the videos,
  • may decrease number watching video.
+2 (yeas:10 nays:8)
  • Remove the embed after a set time period, and put up a banner with a link.

Pros:
  • quite noticeable
  • the link could be made to point anywhere including a page with the other vids,

Cons:
  • less noticeable than the videos,
  • may decrease number watching video.
  • Some folks really hate banners.
+1 (yeas:9 nays:8)
Remove the embed after a period of time and add a link at the end of the description section.

Pro:
  • No change to the layout of the page.

Con:
  • Not very noticeable at all.
  • Views are likely to decrease if it's easy to overlook.
-8 (yeas:3 nays:11)
Leave them on the page as an embed but move them down to the very top of the examples section

Pros:

  • Will not replace the page image,
  • Easy to spot, will probably continue to bring in some views
  • They can provide a more in-depth look at a trope.

Cons:
  • Aesthetically unpleasing (YMMV)
  • Breaks up the flow of reading
  • Have to scroll down farther to get to the examples
-9 (yeas:4 nays:13)
  • Leave them on the page as an embed, but move them down to below the description and above the examples.

Pros:
  • Will not replace the page image,
  • Will still probably to bring in views
  • Can provide a more in-depth look at a trope

Cons:
  • Aesthetically unpleasing (YMMV)
  • Breaks the flow of reading the page.
  • Have to scroll further to get to the examples.
-10 (yeas:4 nays:14)
  • Leave them on the main trope page, as a permanent replacement for any previous page image.

Pros:
  • Will probably bring in more traffic, due to it being such a huge thing,
  • is hard to miss,
  • is a fun way to illustrate a trope.
  • can provide a more in-depth look at a trope than page images can.

Cons:
  • Does not illustrate the trope quickly
  • may or may not illustrate the trope clearly
  • is imposing and unmovable,
  • increases loading time on page
  • Page images aren't intended to be "in-depth"; they're intended to be a quick way of illustrating the trope, (or making a joke)
-10 (yeas:3 nays:13)
  • Leave them on the page as an embed, but move them down to the very bottom of the examples section.

Pros:

  • Will not replace the page image,
  • Will probably continue to bring in some views

Cons:
  • May look awkward (YMMV)
  • Easy to miss for anyone who doesn't read the page all the way to the bottom.
-16 (yeas:0 nays:16)
Remove the embed after a set period of time, and put a button in the button bar (i.e., with the "Edit", "Source", "History", "Related to" buttons.)

Pros:
  • we could link to anywhere, including a page with the other vids, instead of just the imbed vid,
  • will look completely normal.

Cons:
  • Not very noticeable; it would be just another button in a panel that's already six buttons wide and three tall.
    • Nineteen buttons is really difficult to come up with a balanced aesthetic arrangement of.
  • would make it harder to find the trope of the week,
  • may decrease number watching video.
