Pro: The trope is not what Mario is known for (being a hero, plumber, or jumper in canon, and this trope is like a jack of all trades), and Mario mostly fits this trope in spinoff games. Some examples confuse this with Mario himself.

Con: There are fewer misuses, aside from the aforementioned one. Being an all-round character is one of the things Mario is known for. What he's most known for seems to depend on the person.
