What would be the best way to fix the page?
At issue:
This is what to do with the "Namespaced" pages that appear linked by icons at the top of works pages. For example, Star Wars has both a Nightmare Fuel and High Octane Nightmare Fuel namespaced page.

There are currently 436 pages in the NightmareFuel/ namespace and 764 in HighOctaneNightmareFuel/.

THIS WILL NOT CHANGE THE DECISION MADE BY THE PREVIOUS CROWNER IN ANY WAY.

Change Nightmare Fuel namespace to Accidental Nightmare Fuel namespace and keep High Octane Nightmare Fuel namespace.

Pros:
  • Less chance of misuse between namespaces
  • The namespaces will match the page names

Cons:
  • The ANF pages are likely to be very short, because it's not as common as HONF.
  • Two pages to maintain per work page.
  • The name "high octane" (formerly "unleaded") is disputed.
  • Adding "Accidental" to Nightmare Fuel in the first place didn't stop the misuse.
-10 (yeas:9 nays:19)
Merge onto one namespace named Nightmare Fuel and divide by type (like the Fridge subpages are). Get rid of the HONF namespaced pages and stop showing that icon on works pages.

Pros:
  • Only one page per work to maintain
  • Whether an example is ANF or HONF, it'll be on the right page (although maybe not the right section)

Cons:
  • May lead to confusion over which are the reactions and which is an index/disambig.
-10 (yeas:10 nays:20)
Remove the Nightmare Fuel namespace and only keep High Octane Nightmare Fuel. All examples of ANF go on the YMMV tab, since there aren't likely to be large numbers of them. Get rid of all NF namespaced pages on works pages and kill the icon.

Pros:
  • Only one page per work to maintain

Cons:
  • Likely to attract some ANF examples that will need moved.
  • Results in more natter on YMMV
-15 (yeas:8 nays:23)
Keep Nightmare Fuel and High Octane Nightmare Fuel namespaces

Cons:
  • "Nightmare Fuel" is no longer the name of the page (it's Accidental Nightmare Fuel now), so it adds to the confusion and misuse.
  • The NF pages are likely to be very short, because it's not as common as HONF.
  • Two pages to maintain per work page.
