* GenericDoomsdayVillain: The game has been responsible for so many to the point where players have actually grown to dislike such villain types, because there is not much of a point or variation other than fighting them.
** GenericDoomsdayVillain was parodied with the Evil Exploder, who mentioned that he didn't even ''have'' a motivation to conquer the Multiverse.

* AlasPoorVillain - [[spoiler: Incarnate!VideoGame/MegaMan]] seemed to go through this. [[spoiler: Incarnate!Raidou]] as well.

** Tama Saisei, an Eyebot, tends to be [[CovertPervert a bit of a pervert]], usually recording women in secret and usually try sell DVD copies of it at least once. Months later, [[FalloutNewVegas the Lonesome Road DLC]] was released and it was revealed that ED-E is also a perv too.

* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap - Players will sometimes play characters with a bad status from their source with this Trope in mind. With some players, it usually works.
** This was apparently what [[{{Tropers/CapedLuigisYoshi}} Cly]] intended with his Osaka due to Midna's handling of the character and because he was somewhat bugged by the fact that that's what Osaka is remembered for in the game. So far, he seems to be doing well.
** To some, Bass was incredibly annoying due to breaking the fourth wall on a near-constant basis. When this was fixed, reception became somewhat warmer.

* HighOctaneNightmareFuel: The Incarnates arc could get ''downright terrifying''.

* AlasPoorVillain - [[spoiler: Incarnate!MegaMan]] seemed to go through this. [[spoiler: Incarnate!Raidou]] as well.

* CompleteMonster - [[spoiler: [[Anime/{{Monster}} Johan]]]], true to form; Tails' Other has his moments, yet [[{{Mnemosyne}} Apos]] managed to top them all, though. In and out of her appearances, [[MegaManBattleNetwork Slur]] seems to be this. Hydrogod manages to somehow enjoy the entire fight against Apos, including the MindRape done to him. And then there's Kasei, who seems more interested in torturing his test subjects than actually doing science.

* ExcusePlot: Most of the Whateververse plots, since they consist of nothing but fighting most of the time.

** "Generic Whateververse Plot", used by Etheru, refers to plots that have to do with the Multiverse. It's a ''specific'' type, in which it involvees having to fight threats that are trying to destroy/take over the Multiverse as we know it, but it's an idea that's been used with absolutely no variation several times. He uses it in a less than affectionate manner.

** A [[ProblemSleuth Death]], Tails, Osaka, Game/MegaMan and two different Tenshi Hinanai play a game of Battleship, which Death turns into one awesome game, Tails even lampshades the trope.
** SaladFingers randomly appears and develops an unhealthy obsession with Game/MegaMan's Buster.

* MarySue[=/=]MartyStu: Sometimes this happens to some characters, if making a character ''too'' powerful occurs.

** AntiSue: Carter/Catherine, in spades. [[IGotBetter She got better, though.]]

** SympatheticSue: Saturn and his characters. Some notable ones are Ty, Skirt, and the player himself in the Discussion itself.

* UnfortunateImplications: The treatment of some of the female characters can be polarizing. Specifically, Saturn just can't play a woman without going into really inappropriate things, to the point that people just got fed up with his extreme view of women, as if he knew nothing about how one would ever think. For a more direct example, the moment in which Rona, his Volcarona Gijinka, talked to an Other of Yanmie about her breasts. Imca slapped the former and called her a pervert, to which Rona responded by threatening to sue the group once they sided with Imca. \\

This sometimes comes the other way around for the male characters as well.

* ShillingTheWesley: Deanna gets this. Wren to a very small extent at first, but that improved.
** ShowDontTell: About the only way to reprimand this. Likewise, this is also important in general for roleplaying.

* TheWesley - Depending on your opinion, the Grayson family. Although players admit they're somewhat decent.
** As an inverted/averted example, though, Victoria in particular was this ''to her own player'' for a time. Other players found her decent or interesting. Said player eventually regretted ever throwing away any possible (and positive!) characterization due to her hating the character so much.
** Another inverted example is Andros. Some players loved his jerkass attitude, [[WriterOnBoard The]] [[NeverLiveItDown Rant]] notwithstanding. The player herself loathed him, especially his canon attitude, to the point where she [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation saw him]] as a whiny, self-centered jerkass--exactly the kind of characterization she was mostly going for.
** This was Midna's opinion of 3Dee (semi-clone of Dee) and Anne (giantess introduced to throw Sapph a bone at first, due to not getting Mana, [[DivergentCharacterEvolution before becoming her own character]]). [[AvertedTrope Nobody agreed with these statements]].

* ArchivePanic - Averted. Several new participants have expressed concern over having to read the 10,000+ page long conversation to fit in, but it is in no way necessary.

** {{@/Arcadiarika}} has also finally reached the status, being guilty of {{wangst}}, {{Writer On Board}}, refusing to do arcs and ruining them when she joins in, being meta at times due to her "attempts" to correct her behavior, and blatantly refused to change her behavior.

*** Alyx went from a weak, shy whiner to a happy and outgoing young woman who's completely capable of fighting.
*** [[PowerRangersInSpace Andros]] turned from a complete {{Jerkass}} to a kind hero who only wants to help in order to make up what he did in the past.
*** Victoria simply became much more positive overall, continuing her past personality prior to her changes in the "Witches' Game" arc.

** GodModeSue: The worst offenders of that particular type of Sue include Other!Yukari, Incarnate!Yukari, and the Retconinator.\\
And since his body was used for the machine, shared a few such characteristics, and [[OnlyICanKillHim ended up being the only person who could stop the Retconinator]], [[MyLittleEye Matt]] is also this. [[hottip:*:Just as powerful as the Retconinator itself--which makes sense, as it was his own body that he was dealing with--and sporting a {{Determinator}} attitude during such fights, the only true way to stop him was his second HeroicSacrifice.]][[hottip:**:Put it this way: Matt can take hits and become unaffected by most of them, being a ghost. He can unleash [[SignatureMove Shadow Balls]], among other Ghost-type attacks, like there's no tomorrow. When he shows even the darkest attitudes, the group loves him regardless. Hell, if given the chance, he can even take down three of ''PowerRangers''' toughest {{Memetic Badass}}es--Tommy Oliver, Adam Park, and ''even his own Other, Carter Grayson''--if he wants to. ]] Not that it's a bad thing, mind, as his power didn't hurt his likability.

* HarsherInHindsight: When the group first appeared in the Naruto world, Michael hated it for...reasons unknown. Said world had ninjas in it, so why is it harsh? In Castlevania, where he took a break, he had to fight against [[{{Umineko}} Maria]] and [[{{Trigun}} Legato]], and the resulting battle caused him to gain a cyborg ninja body in order to survive.
