* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: The song "Holding Me" (sung by Liz Callaway) is actually quite beautiful.

** Oddly enough, the uncut version does have one attempted emotional moment that almost works, when Winnie (the GoldDigger) and [=McTweed=] (the banker) come clean about their respective lies as the ship is going down and resolve to [[TogetherInDeath stay together rather than escape on the lifeboats]], deciding that though they have nothing of monetary value, they at least have each other.

* BrokenBase:
** Which version is more laughably enjoyable to watch, the uncut or recut version? The recut has "Party Time" going for it, but the editing sometimes makes it a lot harder to follow (see SpecialEffectsFailure). It also doesn't have any of the repeating dialogue issues which removes some of the {{Narm}}. Of course, both are hilariously enjoyable to watch to most people anyway, but which one hits the SoBadItsGood territory better is a subject for debate.

* EthnicScrappy: The Mexican mice.

* OvershadowedByControversy: Even when setting aside the multiple [[CaptainErsatz obvious rip-offs]] of characters from the Franchise/DisneyAnimatedCanon, Creator/DonBluth movies, Creator/HannaBarbera cartoons and ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' shorts, or the infamous "[[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext rapping dog in 1912 on the Titanic]]" scene, this movie as a whole is notorious for its LighterAndSofter treatment of a historical tragedy, with only a few minor characters who drown and the main cast all surviving and going on to live HappilyEverAfter. In RealLife, out of around 2,200 total passengers and crew on the ship, approximately 1,500 died, making the film look like it's insensitively glossing over a horrifying incident.

** It's made the top of several "worst movies ever" lists. Whether it's so soul-tainting bad that you can't bear it or whether it's so soul-taintingly bad it's a joy to mock is a matter of personal opinion.

* HoYay: Both of the Dalmatians are modeled after Pongo, the male dog from 101 Dalmatians. That, combined with both of them sounding rather masculine, makes one wonder if maybe the puppies seen in the ending were just adopted (only in the uncut version does it specify that the red-collared one is female; her name is Kate).
* JustHereForGodzilla: Viewers watch this film because there is a rapping dog and the reviews by The Nostalgia Critic and [=JonTron=].

** Some who have seen the Film comment that the Dog who resembles Lady, from ''WesternAnimation/LadyAndTheTramp'', sounds a lot like Sam Elliot. Elliot would later provide the voice of Trusty in [[Film/LadyAndTheTramp2019 the live-action remake]] of ''Lady and the Tramp''.

** Which animated ''Titanic''-movie is worse? This one or [[WesternAnimation/TheLegendOfTheTitanic the other?]] On this movie's angle, the ones who argue it's the worse of the two will cite its NoBudget animation quality, its blatant purpose as a Disney Renaissance cashgrab, a much heavier presence of corny dialogue, and (of course) the rapping dog.

* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: It cannot be emphasized enough that this film features '''a rapping Scottish Terrier on the ''Titanic''''', among other things. You're certainly excused for wondering if someone spiked the studio's water coolers with something strong.
