* FashionVictimVillain: Daemon Spade. For the most part, the EvilIsSexy trope is in effect and then he went and [[spoiler:possessed Mukuro and the result has him growing out his hair and wearing a gaudy military outfit.]] The standard fandom response is laughing your ass off.

* ShippingGoggles: Prevalent in the series as the intended audience is for women, and that you can see so many bishoujo tropes if you squint really well. There is a reason why it has one of the biggest Yaoi fandoms to this day.

** Kyoko is really divided among the fandom, some fans regard her as TheCutie with only good intentions who bring normalcy to the cast, the other half find her hopelessly bland and thinks her goody two-shoes personality is extremely frustrating to watch, also her common schtick of DistressedDamsel and staying in the kitchen makes a lot of fans either offended or annoyed.

* AudienceAlienatingPremise: The [[WidgetSeries reliance of the Daily Life arc]] in CringeComedy and nonsense plots fail to attract many potential western viewers at the start before its GenreShift to action. While the show is still one of the biggest manga series in Japan even after many years, it failed to launch on western shores as the anime was never dubbed and never aired on TV in America and Viz Media only translated 16 of 42 volumes before canceled due to low sales.

** Varia. Throughout the series, they're constantly described as literal demons in flesh with inhuman levels of assassination skills, and generally treated as TheDreaded. However, after their respectful arc, they mostly show up for the [[EnsembleDarkhorse hype]], but never do anything big or important story-wise. In Future Arc, Xanxus killing Belphegor's brother Rasiel, feels less impactful after the reveal that he was [[RedHerring fake Funeral Wreath]]. Then Squalo, the Legendary Sword Master with an almost perfect win to lose ratio, gets [[CurbStompBattle curbstombed]] by Zakuro offscreen just to raise the stakes. And during the Final Battle in the Future Arc, the Varia was outmatched by Kikyo, Zakuro, and Bluebell, who effortlessly deflected their attacks and managed to almost kill the Varia officers, if they weren't illusion doppelgangers generated by Fran. To add insult to the injury, during the Rainbow Curse arc, the less popular Varia members are reduced to jobbers. Fon effortlessly kicks out of the game Levi,[[ButtMonkey Lussuria]], and ''even Bel'', who's supposed to be an assassin prodigy. And then Xanxus and Squalo team up with a bunch of other characters, hyped up to be a big team for final BigBad beatdown...only to get defeated by said BigBad in a single hit.

*** Creator/KenjiroTsuda who voices Adult Lambo, Lampo, and Spanner, voices [[BadassBaritone Tiziano]]. He even gives him the same deep inflections that Adult Lambo has.

* AuthorsSavingThrow:
** The anime does this in terms of their pacing. The Kokuyo arc starts at the 20th episode after 19 episode adaptations of the Daily Life Arc, before it returns to a few more adaptations of the Daily Life Arc before the Varia arc starts. After the Varia arc, is another adaptation of the Daily Life Arc before the Future arc starts. This makes the remaining Daily Life Arc chapters that are adapted into the anime feel more like a BreatherEpisode arc to the serious plots preceding it as a result and is generally a more accepted and used timeline frame that most viewers follow with the addition of the manga exclusive arcs after the Future arc.
** M.M was hated instantly after slapping Chrome in the Future Arc and expressing disgust towards her admiration for him. The next time the two interacts, M.M specifically warns Chrome that Mukuro is likely just using her to escape prison and is warning her out of concern.
** A common complaint about Lambo was that he was the most underused guardian of the Vongola, he gets ''one'' major fight against Leviathan before getting abruptly cut short and he spends half of the series being sidelined with the girls and being involved in comedic relief scenes, which can especially be jarring considering how much his teenage counterpart is advertized in promotional material. The latter half of the Future Arc tries to give Lambo more relevance by using his Cambio Forma to defeat Kikyo's Box Animals, and the Inheritance Ceremony Arc, where he gets some CharacterDevelopment during his battle against Rauji.
** After most of the supporting cast [[note]]These being: Kyoko, Haru, Bianchi, I-Pin, and Futa.[[/note]] received backlash from fans in the Future Arc for being involved in the more serious story despite their overall lack of relevance in anything that was happening, they only appear in small sections of the Inheritance Ceremony and Curse of the Rainbow Arc, with Tsuna himself even refraining from telling Kyoko and Haru about the battle against the Simon Family out of fear of ever involving them in the mafia ever again.
** A major complaint about Gokudera's character was his UndyingLoyalty towards Tsuna occasionally bordering obsessiveness to the point that he seemed unaware of any of Tsuna's flaws. In the Inheritance Ceremony Arc, Shitt. P calls him out on these actions and Gokudera admits that he was fully aware of Tsuna's flaws from the start, but still respects him regardless.
** Mukuro was criticized for being a selfish {{Jerkass}} who only cared about Chrome for his own self-centered reasons, such as needing a body to possess while being trapped in Vindice Prison, and later abandons her after finally being let out of prison. Tsuna himself calls Mukuro out on this during the Representative Battle, who replies that his reasonings for kicking Chrome out of his group were so that she could become a powerful illusionist and that he's been trying to provide her with illusionary organs the entire time, but Chrome is the one who refuses out of a desire for independence. Additionally, an artbook released after the manga was completed, titled "Rebo to Dlive", depicts Chrome carrying groceries with the Kokuyo Gang, subtly confirming that Chrome likely made amends with Mukuro and was accepted back into his group.
** Chrome herself was criticized as well for being a FauxActionGirl in practically all of her major battles, constantly needing Mukuro in her fights to save her. The Curse of the Rainbow Arc attempts to address this by revealing that Chrome intentionally makes herself vulnerable because she ''wants'' to depend on Mukuro and strives to prove her competence as an illusionist.

** A common complaint about Lambo was that he was the most underused guardian of the Vongola, he gets ''one'' major fight against Lussuria before getting abruptly cut short and he spends half of the series being sidelined with the girls and being involved in comedic relief scenes, which can especially be jarring considering how much his teenage counterpart is advertized in promotional material. * RelationshipWritingFumble: Tsuna's relationship with Kyoko is up in the air as of the final chapter, as the development is almost non-existent and it doesn't help that she still sees him as a friend after all the sacrifices he made for her. Compare that to Haru who has more romantic interactions with him, explicitly telling him that she wants to marry him to his face many times in the series. Couple that with all the HoYay happening everywhere, it's one of the reasons why fans prefer to ship him with everybody else, or, in some fanfictions, set Tsuna up with an OriginalCharacter instead.

* UncannyValley: [[spoiler:Bermuda's true form resembles a doll whose proportions are too unbalanced. His eyes are too large for his baby like face, has a nose that is practically nonexistent and has the arms of a bodybuilder attached to an adolescent body.]]

* CompleteMonster: The [[AlternateTimeline future version]] of [[MultiversalConqueror Byakuran]], from the Future Arc, is the head of the Millefiore Family. Using his ability to communicate with and gain knowledge from every other Byakuran in a different parallel universe, he conquered each and every one of them until the only one left was the main universe. He planned to cement his grip on all reality by obtaining the [[AmplifierArtifact Tri-ni-set]]; first ordering the slaughter of the Vongola family itself and their friends and families, then releasing Non Tri-ni-set radiation into the atmosphere in order to kill all Arcobaleno members. While he displays a [[FauxAffablyEvil cheerful disposition]] around his subordinates, it's only if they hold his interest. In reality, he's ruthless and cruel. Once he "gets bored" of someone, he won't hesitate to have them killed. [[ItsAllAboutMe He will do anything to achieve his goal]], not caring if it would mean sacrificing innocent people--who he refers to as his toys--or destroying the world.

* EndingFatigue: The Future Arc. In this arc, there are two times where Tsuna and his guardians are given the opportunity to defeat the Millefiore Famiglia and return back to their original time period, once during the [[StormingTheCastle Melone Base infiltration]] and another during the [[TournamentArc Choice Arc]]. Both occasions involve [[TheBadGuyWins something going off course]] and resulting in them failing to defeat Millefiore, which makes the Future Arc go on for even longer, usually to introduce more [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters new characters]] or [[NewPowersAsThePlotDemands new powers for the guardians]]. This is even more noticeable in the anime, which involves two filler arcs in between major story events that involve Tsuna and his friends returning back to the present as a means to [[HistoryRepeats introduce more new characters and introduce new powers for the main characters]].

* ShockingSwerve: The real identity of Checker Face is [[spoiler:Kawahira, the Ramen shop owner...[[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome who is that again]]? Not only that, but he and Yuni's ancestor are secretly from an ancient immortal species that have existed on Earth since before humans]]!

* FoeYay: [[FoeYay/Reborn2004 Now with its very own page!]]

** Tsuna. [[YaoiFangirl The fandom]] ships him with his {{Bishonen}} Guardians, almost every girl his age, his allies, [[FoeYay his enemies]], the list goes on. There's actually a name for shipping Tsuna and basically everybody else in the series: All 27 or All/Tsuna. Funnily enough, fans ships Tsuna with the guys more than his [[TagalongKid two tagalong girlfriends]] since the implied romance lacks so much significance a lot of fans decide to seek romantic tension [[HetIsEw elsewhere.]]

** DepravedHomosexual Lussuria of the Varia. Who during his fight with Ryohei expresses blatant [[FoeYay interest]] in him while simultaneously revealing himself to be a necrophiliac.

* ShipsThatPassInTheNight: Hibari/Chrome is a popular pairing for Chrome, despite the fact that the two of them barely interacted with each other, and there's the problem of Chrome being the vessel of [[FoeYay Mukuro]].

** Chrome, due to the hell she goes through. Her parents abandoned her to die, half her organs are missing, she's homeless and more often than not starving, she's constantly belittled, gets harassed physically, emotionally, and sometimes even sexually by villains, and in the Inheritance Ceremony arc [[spoiler:she's {{hypnotize|ThePrincess}}d and tortured by Daemon Spade purely to push Mukuro's BerserkButton]]. There's also the possible implications that Mukuro may not truly care about Chrome and that he was simply using her so that he could have a body to possess.

** A decade after Reborn!'s airing, some of the voice actors from Reborn! voices characters from ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureVentoAureo'', which is another story about teenage heroes joining the Mafia. Reborn! would later be serialized at Shounen Jump at the same time with ''Vento Aureo'':

* FanPreferredCouple: A huge majority of the [[YaoiFangirl fandom]] ships Tsuna with Hibari rather than his two canon female interests as evident in their massive doujinshi numbers and fanfiction in both [=AO3=] and Fanfiction.net. It has to do with Hibari's fixation with Tsuna's growing strength, obsessively challenging him to fights, his suggestive catchphrase[[note]] I'll bite you to death[[/note]], and him being the stoic Bishounen to Tsuna's naïve personality has fans shipping both by droves. It helps that Future Hibari actually respects Tsuna's leadership in the Future Arc, which made the shippers ship them harder.
** this can extend to other Tsuna pairings as well, just know that almost [[YaoiFangirl everyone]] prefer Tsuna being paired with any other character rather than his female love interests.

** A common misconception in the series is that Tsuna's powers are constantly [[BagOfSpilling "reset"]] and that constantly loses at the beginning of an arc. This is not entirely true since it only happens in the Varia Arc where he only lost his first battle against Superbi Squalo because his five minutes in Dying Will Mode ran out. In the proceeding arcs, Tsuna manages to win his first battle and only starts to struggle later on.

** The Arcobaleno [[spoiler:remaining babies]] even after [[spoiler:their curse was lifted and now being forced to age regularly]] angered a lot of fans, especially those who were really looking forward to them finally [[spoiler:becoming adults again]]. What made this seem even more confusing to a lot of fans was that Checker Face previously had the ability to [[spoiler:turn the Arcobaleno back into adults]] with the use of their [[spoiler:boss watch]] and later shows that he is unable to [[spoiler:turn them back into adults again]], which to some felt like a way to invoke StatusQuoIsGod.
* FanPreferredCouple:
** A huge majority of the [[YaoiFangirl fandom]] ships Tsuna with Hibari rather than his two canon female interests. It has to do with Hibari's fixation with Tsuna's growing strength, obsessively challenging him to fights, his suggestive catchphrase[[note]] I'll bite you to death[[/note]], and him being the stoic Bishounen to Tsuna's naïve personality has fans shipping both by droves. It helps that Future Hibari actually respect's Tsuna's leadership in the Future Arc, which made the shippers ship them harder.
** Sidekicks Yamamoto and Gokudera are the most popular ship among American fans, as they like to turn Gokudera into a {{Tsundere}} for Yamamoto while kicking Tsuna out of the narrative or ship him with [[ShipMates Hibari]]. Some keep Gokudera's obsession with becoming Tsuna's right-hand man and give all the romantic teases to Yamamoto.
** As for the het couple fans, a lot of rare male fans find Tsuna and Haru’s relationship much more enjoyable due to Haru’s unique personality than Tsuna and Kyoko’s stereotypical puppy love TokenRomance.

* DamselScrappy: Kyoko. While she is likable to some extent—she is also known for being THE {{Satellite Character}} in the entire franchise, which made a lot of people and fans alike unable to bring themselves to care about her well-being when she’s in a bad situation.

* DesignatedLoveInterest:
** Kyoko is this to Tsuna. Despite all of the hints that point to Kyoko being Tsuna’s OneTrueLove, their interactions with each other are so insignificant that [[YaoiFanGirl fans]] usually seek for excitement [[HoYay elsewhere.]]
** The relationship between Mukuro and Chrome, while Mukuro does rescue her from dying of a fatal accident and provides her with illusionary organs, causing Chrome's admiration towards him, Mukuro is considerably neglectful to her at times. Essentially dumping her in an abandoned amusement park without orders on what to do next, where she's mostly starved and verbally abused by Mukuro's subordinates, and eventually kicked out of his group after finally getting his body back. Even M.M and Tsuna both seem disturbed by how Mukuro treats her at times.

** An unusual case with Lambo thanks to time-travel shenanigans. Many people find 5-year-old Lambo to be an annoying BrattyHalfPint rather than an endearing one, yet his older self is one of the more popular characters in the fandom as revealed in popularity polls. Unfortunately, the older one rarely appears in the story, and Lambo's status as TheLoad and causing tons of trouble for the main characters sours him in the eyes of the fans.

* {{Fanon}}:
** A generally accepted headcanon amongst the fandom is that Yamamoto's mother is deceased given that she's never seen or mentioned despite Yamamoto's close relationship with his father. Likewise, it's often inferred that Hibari's parents are absent, or simply negligent.
** Kaoru is the only member of the Simon family not to have revealed his Earth Flame. People have thus theorized it to be either Ocean or Meadow, given that each Simon member has had the kanji for their Flame name in their actual name.
** A good number of fans in the fandom believed that Tsuna's hyper intuition and flame being sealed caused an imbalance which was the reason why Tsuna is so clumsy and BookDumb.
** The headcanon of Hibari and Fon having familial relations to each other as an uncle or great-granduncle due to their physically similar resemblance.
** With the implication of the tenth generation being the reincarnation of the first generation of Vongola. A good number of fans believed that Chrome is the reincarnation of [[TooGoodForThisSinfulEarth Elena]] as she's the only odd one out among the tenth generation and was slightly supported in canon with her close relationship with Mukuro, who was implied to be Daemon's reincarnation.
** Characters being influenced by their flames and such are popular headcanons in the fandom as well. In the series, flames are only defined by their properties and everyone uses them for fighting. Meanwhile, read one fanfic and you will see ''many'' detailed descriptions as to how a flame will define a certain character's personality and how it influences ''everything'' around them. Which does have some precedence in canon but not to the point where it influences their life.
** The idea that Lambo's last name is "Bovino" and Dino's last name is "Cavallone" are generally accepted as their real last names since Amano had never officially given them one.
** A good chunk of the fandom have very different interpretations on Kyoko’s character; her not being as naive as the the storyline portrays her, or that she’s [[UncannyValleyGirl not as kind as she appears.]] of course, these headcanons are met with varying reactions.

* GottaShipEmAll: Thanks to Tsuna being the cute and innocent looking protagonist and that he seems to attract nearly everyone in the series, shipping is very rampant in the fandom and everybody is able to ship whoever they want.
