Broken base is a bit too skewed twoard the "hate" end of this movie's Love It Or Hate It status, so put it in a few praise points.

* BrokenBase: While the movie is regarded as one of the better Pokémon movies by fans, there are those who dislike it for various reasons, such as the overabundance of telepathy-using Pokémon (of the five Legendary Pokémon featured, all of them use telepathy), the shorter-than-average runtime, a somewhat thin plot and the Pokémon outshining the humans to the point of rendering their inclusion unnecessary. There are those who actually like the Pokémon overshadowing the humans. Overall, fan opinion is basically split between those who were pleasantly surprised by the movie and those who still found it lackluster.

[[Anime/PokemonGenesectAndTheLegendAwakened Come the very next movie]], and many fans ''did'' feel betrayed thanks to Yuyama's [[ReplacementScrappy questionable creative choices]].

* {{Asspull}}: Kyurem is able to change into its Black or White Kyurem forms at will, without needing to absorb Reshiram or Zekrom like it has to in the games. The only explanation you get is how it can "harness their powers" due to being born at the same time as them, but not much more beyond that.

* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: Many fans agree that this is the best ''Pokémon'' movie in years thanks to its [[HumanFocusedAdaptation greater focus]] [[InvertedTrope on the Pokémon]] and its decent character development for Keldeo, Kyurem, the Musketeers and even Ash himself. * FanFavorite: This movie may have done for Kyurem what the [[Anime/PokemonLucarioAndTheMysteryOfMew similarly-loved eighth movie]] did for Lucario, by depicting it as a {{Badass}} BloodKnight. It helps that it was already popular from its mascot role in ''VideoGame/PokemonBlack2AndWhite2''.
** Keldeo too, for being a BadassAdorable, and VicMignogna's casting in the English dub being viewed as a nod to the older anime fans who watch ''Pokémon''.
