* TierInducedScrappy: Humans received some flak for [[MasterOfNone not being as specialized as the other races]]. For melee and gun-using classes, they were outclassed by Beasts and [=CASTs=] (especially since they lacked SUV Weapons/Nanoblasts.) For [=TECHNIC=]-using classes, Newmans had better stats suited for those classes.

* IKnewIt: Many theorized that [[spoiler:Hyuga has become a Dewman,]] which is confirmed in [=PSP2i=].

* CompleteMonster: [[BigBad Kumhan, Sun King of the Ancients]], seeks to resurrect his empire by any means necessary. [[DemonicPossession Possessing]] Shizuru Shu, he [[ManipulativeBastard manipulates]] the governing system to commit to a project to subspace travel, which is a farce so that he can bring back him empire. In order to make it into a reality, he invades territories that can be a threat to his plan and gains clues in recovering his kingdom via using people he brainwashes, and uses [=SEEDs=] to eliminate any opposing forces. He finds out that another Ancient, one of his former wives named Mika, has the key to bring back the ancient civilization and is inhabiting the body of Emilia, so he captures her. He then plans to destroy the social construct and become king, abandoning his vessel Shu whether he frees himself or commits suicide. His end goal after being cornered is to summon an armada of [=SEEDs=] in hopes of killing his enemies, and trying to kill the main heroes himself. Willing to destroy his successors, Kumhan only wants to back his world [[AmbitionIsEvil to become the king once again]].

* FanNickname:
** Anga Jabroken, in reference to Anga Jabroga's status as a Gamebreaker.
** Lolitechers, who are [[TokenMiniMoe very small]] Newman female Fortetechers/Masterforces/etc.

** This tendency prompted Sega to introduce the "GUARDIANS Boost Road," encouraging players to run chains of other missions for greater gains compared to spamming a single mission over and over.

* FanNickname: Anga Jabroken, in reference to Anga Jabroga's gamebreaking status.
** Also Lolitechers, who are Newman females Techers who [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin ...yeah.]]
* GameBreaker: Anga Jabroga, however, a future update will nerf this Art. Whether or not it will still be a Game Breaker is something only time can tell.

* MemeticMutation: "Segac," a DetractorNickname for Sega due to their lackluster management of the game outside of Japan. * StopHavingFunGuys: You don't have to do much to get booted from a party. Especially when you're at the end boxes in certain missions.

She even has [[spoiler:a tragic backstory, that requires other characters acting out of character to even happen. Neither Obel nor Laia seem like the types to greenlight Project Tenma. [[FridgeBrilliance Perhaps]] the ones who greenlighted Project Tenma are the same ones who deemed Vivienne (who was an unknowing ''and'' unwilling Illuminus spy) and the player character (For going after her) traitors.]]

* BlackHoleSue: Laia in ''Ambition of the Illuminus''. Though she's actually a well-rounded character, the fact remains that the Story Mode of ''Ambition'' is all about her. Your character is nothing more than a background extra.
** Subverted in Episode 3. While a good amount of focus is placed on Lumia becoming a full-fledged Guardian, your character is no longer just a background extra. The player character can now make decisions that can impact the story and which ending you receive, leading up to [[spoiler:becoming the new commander of the GUARDIANS Mobile Defense Force. ...Too bad it's implied that you stepped down and gave the position to Orson.]]

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: No one seems to mind that you can find random traveling cake shops, Pizza Huts and [= KFCs =] in dungeons ranging from VR simulations to military complexes. Or ''Portable 2's'' random BonusBoss subspace dragon at the end of some dungeons. Or when [[GuestStarPartyMember Colonel Sanders]] joins as a party member. Gurhal is a strange place.

One of the noisier outcries involved an early change to mission ranking mechanics so that merely dying did not penalize the team. Goes hand in hand with the previous "ItSucks."
