*** FridgeBrilliance kicks in here. The current ESRB can tell the violence is not exactly realistic, the 'blood extraction' is laughably fake-looking, and the infamous bathroom scene is barely risque by modern standards, so [[JustifiedTrope its rating has dropped like a rock]], while Mortal Kombat has got MORE gruesome and violent to keep its high rating.

* SeinfeldIsUnfunny: Younger players who try this game for the first time will probably fail to see what what the fuss was about. Like mentioned before, the "violence" is deliberately over-the-top and cartoonish, and the bathroom scene is very tame by modern standards.

Complaining About Shows You Dont Watch is now only about the In Universe usage. Its usage as an Audience Reaction is being removed, as well as usage in criticism on work pages, which is inappropriate regardless.

* ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch: One of the ''biggest'' victims of this trope next to the CD-I system. It received a lot of enemies who had never even played the game (and even ''admitted'' to having never played it). They claimed that the game was about kidnapping and raping women, never mind that if a girl died, you got a ''game over'' because you were supposed to ''save'' the women. As for the scantily clad? The most scantily clad you get are nightgowns... which would be scantily clad to fundamentalist Muslim or Amish people and no one else.

* OvershadowedByControversy: One of the games that contributed to the ESRB ratings; much like ComplainingAboutShowsYouDontWatch above, one bathroom scene in particular led to intense Senate hearings in the United States, although the game specifically calls you out for failing to spare the woman.
