* SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome: One of the accolades has to go to Lisa. Ever the ScreamingWoman, she takes her mascara purse and fights back against the Augers attacking her before escaping through the window (and all this after you have saved her). This can also count as a DyingMomentOfAwesome if you failed to save her, as not even getting her blood extracted from her by the Augers can deter her from screaming all the way to the very end. Many civilians get their blood extracted from their necks by Augers and either faint or die quickly as a result of blood loss, but not Lisa, as she is MadeOfIron and refuses to die easily, but just keeps going. Even her Auger captors/executioners are getting annoyed by her screams while they are dragging her through the secret passageway, as if to say, "''[[WhyWontYouDie Shut up and die already!!]]''" For a kid who grew up in TheNineties and saw this bathroom scene that provoked the U.S. into having the 1993 Senate hearing on video game violence that would lead the the creation of the ESRB, you might even say that it's "the cry (of Lisa) heard 'round the world".

* PlayTheGameSkipTheStory: Odds are, you're too busy looking for Augers to actually care about the story. ''25th Anniversary Edition'' fixes this problem by letting you unlock a mode that lets you watch the story details on thier own.

** Also, when SCAT member Jason barges in to the Downstairs Hallway and crouches down, you can hear some stifled laughter from the crew before he speaks through his walkie-talkie.

** In the second part of the driveway, when Weird Eddie flees from the threatening Martin cousins Jeff and Tony, if you listen hard, you can hear the boys' laughter followed by a director calling out "Cut!" from the background.

* SeinfeldIsUnfunny: Younger players who try this game for the first time will probably fail to see what what the fuss was about. Like mentioned before, the "violence" is deliberately over-the-top and cartoonish, and the bathroom scene is very tame by modern standards.

This is probably the reason the re-release got a T for Teen rating.

* CultClassic: Its legacy as a legendarily bad FMV game with corny acting has given it a following that continues to the present day, to the point that it is being rereleased for a ''modern'' platform.

** The [[SameContentDifferentRating Teen rating]] from the 25th anniversary remaster. This came from a game which, alongside VideoGame/MortalKombat and VideoGame/Doom, was responsible for the ESRB in the first place.

*** FridgeBrilliance kicks in here. The current ESRB can tell the violence is not exactly realistic, the 'blood extraction' is laughably fake-looking, and the infamous bathroom scene is barely risque by modern standards, so [[JustifiedTrope its rating has dropped like a rock]], while Mortal Kombat has got MORE gruesome and violent to keep its high rating.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: While the Augers were interesting enemies, it would've been more fun to see more normal vampires. We don't get those unless you let [[spoiler:one of the Martins]] escape. Wouldn't it have been cooler to see [[spoiler:the previous sleep over guests now vamped come attacking you for blood]]? Heck, they could've allowed at least [[spoiler:Cindy to be bitten so you'd have to face her undead form later]]. Even if you do save all the girls, most of them are last seen running away from augers to who knows where. It might have been cool if they all showed up to help Kelly and you for the big finale.

* HilariousInHindsight: The game's "watching security cameras" mechanic becomes this in the wake of ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys''. The whole idea of the game being the subject of hearings in regards to its content, since it is downright chaste compared to ''Mortal Kombat'' and later Mature-rated games.
