* [[TaintedByThePreview Tainted By The First Issue]]: Since DC released fifty-two first issues in one month, even people willing to buy all fifty-two #1s were unlikely to give anything they didn't like a second chance. (How many #2s are you going to buy of comics you already have a bad impression of? When there might be ''dozens'' of them?) Ergo, any writer who put something controversial in the first issue, expecting readers to ''stick around'' for justification in later issues, was making a grave mistake. Several of the series died due to their first issue not being as good as later ones.

** One of the reasons for this reaction was that quite a few titles suffered from an AbortedArc in their cancellations - although most of them wrapped up fairly smoothly, there was still a small forest of dangling plot threads left behind, presumably now never to be resolved.

** And then we have what they did to CaptainMarvel, now called {{Shazam}}, and further retconning CheerfulChild Billy Batson into a cold, sardonic and jaded cynical teenager who flat out tell to the now-unnamed wizard that there is ''no one'' [[SillyRabbitIdealismIsForkids truly good in the world]].

Statement is actually from a pre-New52 story (Birds of Prey 7) and the context of which was that she needed to hide her public identity since there were too many heroes being harmed by their association with Oracle. For all intents and purposes, she retained the same function as she had as Oracle, just without the name. In fact, the New52 has not acknowledged whether or not Barbara was ever Oracle, which is its own problem

*** On top of this, Barbara's statement that "Oracles dies. Once and for all." makes it sound like her time as Oracle was the worst days of her life. So much for a capable, handicapped superhero...

** And of course, the ExecutiveMeddling is still going strong. Some fans are upset that the comics appear to be even ''more'' editorial driven than before the reboot.

** There was also a lot of discussion along these lines regarding Barbara Gordon regaining the use of her legs and ThrowingOffTheDisability to become Batgirl again prior to the reboot (it's ''long'' been the consensus of fans that she's a much more interesting character as Oracle than as Batgirl), although when the books eventually emerged the writers demonstrated they were at least aware of the implications; a common theme is Barbara attempting to overcome her psychological issues around what happened, not just her physiological ones.

* AuthorsSavingThrow: Martian Manhunter told off his Stormwatch teammates for referring to him as a Justice League member, which is apparently shorthand for "established superhero", despite the fact that the Justice League has never had more than seven members (until JLI). So, any author wants to refer to, say, Metamorpho or Green Arrow as "Justice League heroes", ''that's'' what it refers to.

As far as we know, it\'s NOT mere Symbolism. It\'s apparently really Judas.

* FauxSymbolism: The Pandora one-shot. Pandora and two men are facing judgement for crimes against humanity. One of the men begs the wizards passing judgement to "Forgive me as he would!" at which point they throw [[TheBible a handful of silver coins at him...]]and sentence him to WalkTheEarth.
