* SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: Drop-dead gorgeous, even by Creator/KyotoAnimation's high standards. The backgrounds are very highly detailed, seeing real-time perspective shifts in a 2D plane is not uncommon (although some CG is used where it would be otherwise too difficult and expensive to animate by hand, see below), and the frames-per-second rate is remarkably high for this sort of anime.

* TheScrappy: The Professor, at least to Western fans, who don't gravitate towards the bratty mini-Moe archetype nearly as much as the Japanese fanbase does. She's meant to be funny but her behaviour more often than not comes across as selfish, annoying and very obnoxious. The fact her antics make life hard for Nano, the show's biggest woobie does not help. Like promising Nano can go to school (the thing Nano wants more than anything) only to welch on it the next day and throw a tantrum until Nano promises her piles of treats.

* NightmareFuel: When Sakamoto got stuck in the superglue. Unlike the Professor and Nano, he was entirely engulfed. "I might die," indeed. The same thing happens to Nakamura later on.
** As with Manga/KOn, the use of the song "Tsubasa wo Kudasai" in one of the endings might cause MoodWhiplash for some after watching Anime/RebuildOfEvangelion.
** The elevator scene in episode 8. You can't help but laugh along with the girls, but be creeped out as well. The fact that part of what they laugh at is the fact that Mai appears to have died doesn't help, either.
*** The elevator scene is incredibly, incredibly surreal. It almost seems to be a mockup of Creator/DavidLynch-style surreal horror (see Rabbits), what with the disjointed dialogue and strange, atonal soundtrack. The part where they start going into hysterics is the least creepy thing about it.

Centipede's Dilemma isn't YMMV

* CentipedesDilemma: It's established firmly (especially in Ep. 19) that Mio is TERRIBLE at sports and basically any physical activity. Yet, she's shown to be an excellent fighter several times, and suddenly has great reflexes, balance, etc. (For example, jumping into the air to grab her manga sheets, twisting around to land on her feet only inches from hitting the ground; or when her sister messes with her cake, and she trips down the stairs, yet manages to land gracefully). It could be that Mio is only terrible at sports and coordination *when she's thinking about it*. When she's filled with rage, she's an Olympic-level athlete because she's not thinking about what to do with her feet, she's just furious.
