* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: In one episode, Yuuko's wallet is lost when she gives it to Mio for safekeeping in an amusement park. [[YankTheDogsChain Later she manages to retrieve her wallet back only to find out her money was gone]], and then she makes a face that can be best described as a combination of ThousandYardStare and DullEyesOfUnhappiness. [[CosmicPlaything Was Yuuko cursing her own constant misfortune]]? [[SuppressedRage Was she angry at Mio for being careless, but unable to express her anger properly]]? Or was Yuuko trying to invoke ForgivenButNotForgotten trope, but Mio was too dense to be aware of it?

* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: Most of the soundtrack consist of beautifully composed orchestral music that manages to set the situations of comedy, sadness, madness, or just ordinary moments of everyday.

** Fans in the west -- where ''Nichijou'' is one of the most popular comedy anime -- are often surprised to hear how badly the anime bombed in Japan and how similarly poorly the manga has sold. * SugarWiki/AwesomeArt: Despite the fairly simple character designs, everything else about the anime is drop-dead gorgeous, even by Creator/KyotoAnimation's high standards. The backgrounds are very highly detailed, seeing real-time perspective shifts in a 2D plane is not uncommon (although some [[TwoDVisualsThreeDEffects CG is used]] where it would be otherwise too difficult and expensive to animate by hand, see below), and the frames-per-second rate is remarkably high for this sort of anime.

** Three of the voice actors doing major roles in ''LightNovel/FateZero'' turn up within the same scene together during [[TheCameo the airship sequence]] of Episode 21 as [[RedShirt a bunch of red shirts]], namely [[Creator/JojiNakata Kirei]], [[Creator/AkioOtsuka Rider]] and [[Creator/ShowHayami Tokiomi]]. [[spoiler: The first two are killed by the ImagineSpot Mio within a minute of each other.]]

* AmericansHateTingle: The Professor is disliked by Western fans, who don't gravitate towards the bratty mini-{{Moe}} archetype nearly as much as the Japanese fanbase does.

* SpiritualSuccessor: The show is often viewed by some to be one of the closest things to an anime based on the ''VideoGame/WarioWare'' series, since it is a comedic SliceOfLife WidgetSeries with a focus on SurrealHumor and wacky characters with unique gimmicks who often find themselves in odd scenarios in an equally odd setting.

** Part 96 from Episode 22 where Professor is crying out loud in front of fainted Sakamoto is lately becoming a popular reaction meme. Others believed that Sakamoto was flatten to the point that memes ran on that idea.

* TheScrappy: The Professor, [[AmericansHateTingle at least to Western fans]], who don't gravitate towards the bratty mini-{{Moe}} archetype nearly as much as the Japanese fanbase does. She's meant to be funny but her behaviour more often than not comes across as selfish, annoying and very obnoxious. The fact her antics make life hard for Nano, [[TheWoobie the show's biggest woobie]] does not help. Like promising Nano can go to school (the thing Nano wants more than anything) only to welch on it the next day and throw a tantrum until Nano promises her piles of treats.
