* HilariousInHindsight: The Sub-Zero/Smoke episode, two-fold. One flashback shows Sektor and Cyrax as humans, with Sektor as a large black man and Cyrax as a chinese man. Just reverse their races and the cartoon just nearly called it right.

* WTHCastingAgency: Luke Perry of BeverlyHills90210 fame as Sub-Zero. He looks like the coolest character and the series' equivalent of the Wolverine. Then he starts talking.

* TheyJustDidntCare: More or less averted in terms of writing and voice-acting, but played straight with the animation. Errors abound, characters move like they have a stick up their asses, and nearly every character outside of the core team look like repaints of other characters. One memorable scene has Cyrax and Sektor get blown to pieces by Sub-Zero only to reappear on the opposite side of the room in the very next shot.

* WhatDoYouMeanItsForKids: Bet you would never think they could make a Saturday morning cartoon out of an ultra-violent video game series, huh?

** The very existence of more raptors in "Acid Tongue", when it was established since VideoGame/MortalKombat2 that Reptile is the last of his species. [[spoiler: Note that Khameleon and her backstory didn't exist until Trilogy, long after this show ended its run.]]

** Furthermore, Sub-Zero's MortalKombat3 costume in VideoGame/MortalKombat9 actually looks more like the Lin Kuei uniform he wears in one flashback of the very same episode as well.
** One of the missions in MortalKombat9 's Challenge Tower is named "It's Kombat Time!" and you play it as Sonya...

** The very existence of more raptors in "Acid Tongue", when it was established since MortalKombat2 that Reptile is the last of his species. [[spoiler: Note that Khameleon and her backstory didn't exist until Trilogy, long after this show ended its run.]]

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Scorpion. You'd think that by being the poster boy for the entire franchise, a formidable rival to [[StoryBreakerPower Sub-Zero]] and described (and shown) as a huge threat by the team would warrant him more appearances, right? Nope, he's gone by the second episode, never to be seen ''again''.

* FanonDiscontinuity: Not towards the show itself, but this cartoon's existence makes ''Film/MortalKombatAnnihilation'' easier to ignore, due to the cartoon taking place after the first movie while disregarding the second.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: People generally liked the version of [[DeadpanSnarker Raiden]] in this show. (He is patterned after ChristopherLambert 's portrayal of the character, after all.)

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: At a point of ''Sting of the Scorpion'', Sub-Zero faces a giant snake that has nothing to do with Scorpion's undead army. Justified because they are in Outworld, where [[EverythingIsTryingToKillYou danger is at each corner]].
* EnsembleDarkhorse: People generally liked the version of Raiden in this show.

* NarmCharm: The animation is crappy, the dialog is sometimes stupid and there are lots of really weird things (portal closing device in a police baton?), but there is something charming about this cartoon.
