* TheyJustDidntCare: More or less averted in terms of writing and voice-acting, but played straight with the animation. Errors abound, characters move like they have a stick up their asses, and nearly every character outside of the core team look like repaints of other characters. One memorable scene has Cyrax and Sektor get blown to pieces by Sub-Zero only to reappear on the opposite side of the room in the very next shot.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: Scorpion. You'd think that by being the poster boy for the entire franchise, a formidable rival to [[StoryBreakerPower Sub-Zero]] and described (and shown) as a huge threat by the team would warrant him more appearances, right? Nope, he's gone by the second episode, never to be seen ''again''.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter: SoBadItsGood: As mentioned under NarmCharm, the show manages to be kind of endearing in it's stupidity.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Due to the show getting CutShort, ''a lot'' of stuff that was set up early on simply disappears because the writers were apparently saving it for later seasons:

** Rain never fights the heroes again, despite clearly intending to do so, not even putting in an appearance for the season finale.
** The Smoke subplot vanishes after his introductory episode, and nobody really mentions it again.
* UnintentionallySympathetic: Raiden is clearly meant to come off as an overly-aloof and unhelpful jerk, but the way it's presented instead comes off as everyone on the team being ungrateful dicks to him.
