[[FromBadToWorse that everyone thought would be fatal...]] [[UpToEleven and now her whole family has moved in to celebrate]]. Understandably, Sebastian's already shaky resolve is jolted considerably.

(Amusingly, Squib ''does'' work pretty well as a weapon...for [[spoiler:Agustus, to defeat "Carl", whom Xaneth was bizarrely fond of]]. On a less serious note, [[spoiler:it also reveals why Xaneth put together such a strange [[EvilCostumeSwitch ensemble]] for Sebastian, and why he seemed so put out when Sebastian first refused to wear it: his refusal at that point in time meant he wasn't going to become powerful until a later time]].

Added Mia's wish-list-for-golem deals to Pet The Dog as an invoked trope. This might better fall under something else, but I can't think of a better fit (something to do with soliciting bribes, maybe). And anyways it's hilarious to put it under Pet The Dog.
