* TheLastOfTheseIsNotLikeTheOthers: There were character groups made to organize the characters. One of these was the "City Trial characters" group. This included characters like Dyna Blade, Shadow Star, Stadium Prediction, Meta Knight, [[ItMakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext Ridley]], etc.

* OffModel: [[https://poyoride.deviantart.com/art/Comic-198-Back-in-my-Day-1-645632465 Comic 198]], one of the last comics of the series. Since it's one of the last comics, you'd expect it to be one of the best looking comics. Nope. It makes some of the earliest comics look GOOD. Every character barring the Shadow Star is off model in some way. Green Kirby goes through some of the panels. Brown Kirby's eye is going through his wing, and virtually everyone else is badly drawn.
** Comic 173 also qualifies. While everyone else looks passable by TARS standards, Mrs. AMP's face was scribbled on, and since she's front and center, it's very easy to notice. To make matters worse, Mrs. AMP's face was never colored in.

''The Air Ride Series'' (also known as ''TARS'') is a comic about the misadventures of kirbies and various other random characters. It was active from 2014-2016, [[note]] Although four surprise comics were released in 2017-18, one being a canonical "remake" to Comic 85, showing how the series ended, an April Fools comic labelled as Comic 201, as well as Comic 202 and 203. [[/note]] Comics were created for the series for almost two years, with the first comic premiering in mid-January 2015 and the final main comic going live in mid-November 2016, with the series being cancelled on November 24th. Characters from this series were active on Facebook since 2014, before the first comic was created, until White Kirby's Facebook account was terminated.

A reboot was announced early November, hopefully featuring only Air Ride characters and only hand drawn comics. On [[MeaningfulReleaseDate November 24th, 2017,]] [[note]] a full year after TARS was cancelled. [[/note]] the first comic in the reboot, The World of Air Ride, premiered, and after [[ShortRunners four comics]] with [[ScheduleSlip long gaps in between]], and the first one not being counted as the first comic anymore, it was scrapped like many of Poyo Ride's other post-TARS comics. [[note]] It was actually the third attempt at a TARS reboot. Two TARS reboots was made mid-2017, but didn't get past a Wiki. [[/note]] A few months later, [[WebComic/DynaBladesMisadventures a new comic premiered]]. This one had Dyna Blade, one of the comic's most recurring characters, promoted to the main character, and it follows her misadventures of being a nuisance to everyone else on the planet.

''The Air Ride Series'' (also known as ''TARS'') is a comic about the misadventures of kirbies and various other random characters. Despite the fact the series was named after ''VideoGame/KirbyAirRide'', [[ArtifactTitle it has little to do with the game]], as many of the comics are focused on various random adventures the characters were happening.

!!TARS contains examples of
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: Nobody likes the Assbot trio, Cloudass, or Mettaton.
* ThirteenIsUnlucky: Miss Robot 13.0. just so happens to have exaggerated bad luck.
* AbortedArc: Silver Kirby spent most time in the background, and then TheReveal happened in Comic 99, and then Silver Kirby just disappeared with an incomplete story made BEFORE Comic 99.
* AbsenteeActor: White Kirby had a track record for appearing in every comic, even if he was shoehorned in. However, in Comic 131, he is completely absent, ending his streak.
** Despite being the CreatorsFavorite out of the four minor kirbies, Brown Kirby never appeared in Comic 200 when the other nine Air Ride Kirbies attacked Mettaton. To make matters even worse, 200 was the final comic.
* AbusiveParent: It's confirmed Dyna Blade eats her chicks.
* AcademyOfAdventure: Thanks to the wacky teachers, and the incorrigible students, anything can happen in Ride School/Crappy Town Academy.
* AdaptedOut:
** The "Top Ride" mode in Kirby Air Ride is never brought up in the series, aside from some wiki edits, while City Trial and Air Ride get several comics.
** While all eight of the kirbies playable in ''KirbyAirRide'' appear as characters, half of them [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome have basically been written out of the series.]]
** Bonnie almost never appears, compared to the other original four animatronics.
** Three of the ''VideoGame/MegaMan2'' robot masters do not appear in TARS, Crash Man, Flash Man, and Bubble Man. Almost every other robot master in TARS was from ''Mega Man 2''.
** Many City Trial events do not appear during the course of the series.
** However Poyo Ride had a comic idea word document on his school hard drive, that had a few Kirby Air Ride event comic ideas.
** Comic 176 was originally made on paper at Poyo Ride's school, then later made as a flipnote, and finally made as an official comic. In each version, the person who [[spoiler: deletes the pictures from the camera]] is different. In the paper version, the person who [[spoiler: deleted the pictures]] was Granny Torrelli. [[labelnote:Explanation]]Granny Torrelli is the only one of the three who admits to it. Granny was used because Poyo's friend didn't like comics Poyo Ride made that weren't using the Granny Torrelli characters, so Poyo made Granny delete the pictures in the comic.[[/labelnote]] In the flipnote, since Poyo Ride had no intention on sharing the flipnote with his friend, the culprit was changed to Miss Robot, as she was a much more fitting character for the role. However, in the comic, Mettaton randomly appeared instead.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Quite a few characters get this.
* AdultsAreUseless:
** Mrs. AMP usually fails to stop Kirby and Miss Robot from destroying the school.
** Mrs. Bairis also doesn't care if her kids act up.
* AllThereInTheManual: The TARS Wiki has various trivia bullets never brought up in the series. [[labelnote:example]] One trivia bullet for Ridley's page claims White Kirby called Ridley bigger than the city, [[VideoGame/SuperSmashBros the Smash Run stage]], and the Phyrosphere. White Kirby never said anything like this in any comic or story.[[/labelnote]]
* AiGettingHigh: Miss Robot and Mettaton are both drug users. They both get caught with a drug stash in comics 170 and 168 respectively.
* AlternateSelf:
** There was originally going to be a story revolving around the characters traveling to a dimension where the characters are replaced by the original ideas for the characters, such as White Kirby becoming Brown Kirby.
** Another Story featuring the kirbies traveling to various alternate universes has a dimension where Blue Kirby and White Kirby swap roles, as well as another dimension where Ridley got into ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBros''.
** Miss Robot's 23 models can be interpreted as alternate selves, due to the fact they behave extremely similarly, except for one minor trait.
* AllJustADream: [[spoiler: The ENTIRE SERIES is a dream of TWAR White Kirby's, as Dyna Blade put him in a deep sleep for almost three years because he was promised 2 million dollars. He only wakes up because something blew up in Dyna Blade's lab.]]
* AlternateUniverse: Oh boy, here we go.
** Kirby is arguably the most changed character from his source material. In 2014 & 2015, he was similar to his game counterpart. However, when his personality took a sharp left turn in early 2016, Kirby was changed from a fun loving hero to a [[SchoolIsForLosers naughty student]] who was constantly making the school day go wrong.
** Ridley in the Metroid games is a giant flying dragon thing who appears as a boss that fights Samus, without any lines. Here, all Ridley does is whine about not being in Smash Bros.
** King K. Rool has 3 traits. His first two traits are quite similar to his game counterpart, but his third trait, which also happens to be the one used 90% of the time, basically makes him a Ridley clone who isn't as destructive.
** Dyna Blade's game counterpart is a loving mother who protects her chicks and occasionally helps out kirby. Here, she EATS her chicks, constantly screams and destroys stuff, and hates the kirby race, so much that according to the wiki, she caused a Kirby genocide in 1987.
** Mettaton is significantly more idiotic than he is in Undertale.
** In Five Night's at Freddy's 2, the Marionette [[labelnote:Explanation]]Also known as the Puppet[[/labelnote]] is one of various animatronics out to kill the night guard for whatever reason. In TARS, he hates his job and only comes out of the box because Freddy pays him to do it.
** King Bob-omb is a heavy drug addict.
** The mooks from Mega Man 1, known as Big Eye, Sniper Joe, and the Foot Holder are all known as Jumping Assbot, Shooting Assbot, and Flying Assbot, and they cause trouble for Crappy Town.
** The Ice Climbers hate each other, and have never made it to the top of a mountain.
** The VideoGame/AnimalCrossing Sea Bass knows he's hated, and lies to everyone saying he is a Coelacanth.
*** The real Coelacanth does the opposite, and convinces everyone that he is a Sea Bass.
* AmazingTechnicolorPopulation: While this doesn't apply to all the characters, the main kirbies have varying skin colors.
* AmericanKirbyIsHardcore: In Universe Example. There's a character named "American Kirby" who is always angry.
* AntiRoleModel: Kirby, Miss Robot, Dyna Blade, and Mettaton.
** Mettaton is arguably the worst of the four. He will kill people so he doesn't have to pay them the amount he promised to pay them to come on his show. He's been arrested for stashing drugs in his closet. Worst of all, in Comic 163, Mettaton blows up a building for no reason, [[labelnote:Explanation]]Considering in Comic 174, he says that he finally has something to report on when Kirby falls into Harambe's pit, it is possible that Mettaton had nothing to report on, so he just blew up a building so he could report on it.[[/labelnote]] killing over 200 people and injuring almost 500 more.
* AntiPoopSocking: If you translate the Shadow Star's essay in Comic 202, it asks why you bothered to translate it, and tells you to go outside
* AprilFoolsDay: The comic actually didn't do anything for April Fools in 2015 or 2016, and then it was cancelled. However, it was announced Poyo Ride had changed his mind about cancelling the comic, and was returning to making The Air Ride Series! He said Comic 201 was coming later that day. And he delivered. [[https://stiltlet.deviantart.com/art/Comic-201-BLUE-KIRBYS-TRUE-POWERS-672382261 Comic 201]] started with Blue Kirby having finally gathered the three Hydra pieces! Oh no! He uses them to tranform [[spoiler: into Rick Astley, and White Kirby gets hit with a JustForFun/RickRoll.]] This outcome was even treated as [[http://theairridegroup.wikia.com/wiki/Blue_Kirby?direction=prev&oldid=14919 canon by the wiki]], although later reverted at the end of the month.
* ArcVillain: Nightmare in the Fright to da Finish trilogy.
* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: In Technology School, Metal Man is hired by the students to show up every lunch detention. In order to get a lunch detention, Metal Man disconnects the projector, knocks everything over, hides the grade book in the sewers, and draws dicks on the whiteboard.
* ArtEvolution: Up until comic 26, the oval tool was used for kirby feet.
* ArtShift: Comic 188 was the first comic not drawn using MS Paint. However, the comics actually didn't look as good, due to Poyo Ride's lack of experience. Comic 198 had it the worst. Everyone [[note]] Except the Shadow Star [[/note]] is OffModel, and Poyo Ride considers it one of the worst comics in the series.
* TheArtifact: White Kirby, Blue Kirby, and Red Kirby.
** White Kirby was the main character in 2014 and 2015, and as the series took a very sharp turn in 2016, he stayed around, as he was technically the main character.
** Blue Kirby still appeared in 2016, as he was a classic villain and one of the main characters, and removing him wouldn't feel right.
** Red Kirby was almost dropped in the series, but was one of the main four kirbies, so Green Kirby was trashed instead.
* ArtifactTitle: The Air Ride Series was an air ride series when it began in 2014, but as more non air ride characters came in, they started to overshadow the air ride characters.
* AscendedExtra: While the first two SMSB rosters had a good chunk of throwaway characters, the third roster cut down severely on these useless characters. However, some throwaway or minor characters retained a roster spot. These include Bowser, who only appeared way back in Comic 17, Charizard and Blastoise, [[note]] Paired together with Venusaur, who hasn't made a comic appearance. [[/note]] who only appeared in Comic 130, Raikou, several Miss Robot Models who never got a comic appearance, [[note]] 2.0., 3.0., 10.0., 5.0., and 17.0. [[/note]] and 3 of the air ride patches besides All Patch. [[note]] Charge, Offense, and Defense. The latter two share a roster spot. [[/note]]
* AuthorAvatar:
** You see that Kirby with the blue headband. (Throw Kirby.) That's Poyo Ride, the creator of the series.
** The creator of ''Webcomic/GreenKirbyAirRide'', Green Kirby 121098, appears in Comic 127. He's the grey kirby with the blue headband.
* BackgroundMusicOverride: Despite none of these videos having background music in them until music suddenly appears, this happens in every episode of Kirby Annotation Ride. [[note]] A series of Youtube videos showing the events of TARS in actual Air Ride matches. [[/note]]
** In episode 1, a rock theme plays. However, it randomly starts playing at a normal part of the video.
** In episode 2, [[spoiler: the Muffin Man song starts playing late into the video. The Stadium Prediction claimed that the kirbies will be meeting with the Muffin Man early on in the video.]]
** In episode 3, rock music again comes on. Unlike the last two videos, this song comes on as soon as White Kirby eyes the box containing the third Hydra piece.
* BasedOnATrueStory: [[https://poyoride.deviantart.com/art/Comic-149-Ryu-s-Bag-611015236 Comic 149]] is a real conversation that Poyo Ride and his friend had after a Smash match. [[note]] Poyo Ride is White Kirby, his friend is Red Kirby. [[/note]]
* BeachEpisode: Comic 29, where White Kirby replaces the beach.
** Comic 1 kinda counts, but in that comic, the beach has been trashed by Dyna Blade.
* BerserkButton:
** Mrs. AMP in her earlier days, where she would get mad at the most minor offenses.
** Calling Mettaton not fabulous.
** Calling Ridley too big.
* BigBad: While TARS does not have a main villain, there are various different villains in the series.
** Blue Kirby: Blue Kirby is responsible for starting TARS due to finding a Hydra Piece in a match of Kirby Air Ride, which is usually claimed as taking it. He is often taking pieces from White Kirby. After 2014, he started to become less of a villain and made less appearances in comics as time went on.
** Mewtwo: An evil Pokemon that often appears as the main antagonist of stories.
** In a fake game made for the series known as White & Red Kirby, Stupidstar Saga. [[spoiler: Miss Robot is the Big Bad of the game, as she is the one who created the virus infecting Crappy Town.]]
* BirthdayEpisode: Comic 67, for Blue Kirby.
* BlackBeadEyes: Every single Kirby except for a few.
* BlackComedy: The series has tons of it. Most infamously are the boatload of jokes about the [[UsefulNotes/TheWarOnTerror September 11th terrorist attacks]], although in 2016, Poyo Ride stopped using them due to heavy backlash.
* BlatantLies:
** One of the Shadow Star's famous lines is "I'm definitely not hiding on the *Insert Hiding Spot Here*". This is usually said when the Shadow Star is on the hiding spot he claims he is definitely not on.
** Metal Man telling everyone that he is definitely not weak to his own special weapon.
** The Sea Bass tells everyone he is a Coelacanth so he is caught. The Coelacanth does the reverse.
** Comic 15 is named "Earth Awakens", when it's really just a battle against Earthwake.
** In Comic 63, Arceus claims he has 80 base power in Pokemon Shuffle, when it's actually 90 BP.
** In Comic 66, White Kirby claims that kirbies cannot drown in TARS. However, in Comic 1, Comic 27, and Comic 68, two comics later, Blue Kirby is drowning. It's not like he has a problem, as he appears just fine in Comic 66.
*** Silver Kirby is also drowning in Comic 80.
*** Poyo Ride has confirmed that statement was a way to keep White Kirby's appearance in all comics ongoing.
* BloodOnTheDebateFloor: Mettaton tries to kill Trump, after the latter calls him "not fabulous". He proceeds to burn down the debate hall as well.
* BookDumb: Dyna Blade is not the dumbest character in the series, but it is shown in Comic 95 she cannot solve basic addition.
* BreakingTheFourthWall:
** All Orange Kirby, Ridley, and King K. Rool do is whine about not being in a certain game.
** In Comic 8, Orange Kirby asks if there will be a sequel to Kirby Air Ride.
** In Comic 11, Blue Kirby comments on Antasma being blurry in the comic.
** In Comic 13, the Wagon Star states he's the best star in the game.
*** The Formula Star does the same thing in Comic 16, claiming he's the fastest star in the game.
** Comic 18 focuses on the kirbies fighting a [[MarioAndLuigiDreamTeam video game]] boss in reality, with levels and the boss itself being mentioned.
** Comic 31 is all about introducing characters [[ChuckCunninghamSyndrome who have not been appearing in the series]]. Likewise, Comic 32 is all about introducing new characters.
** Comic 42 obliterates the fourth wall by having the VideoGame/MarioParty10 characters talking about that game.
** The same goes for Comic 44 & VideoGame/PokemonShuffle.
** Comic 58 has various characters sign up to be DLC for VideoGame/SuperSmashBros.
** In Comic 59, Nintendo's Logo personally shows up to tell White Kirby and Red Kirby to stop using red and brown ink in {{VideoGame/Splatoon}}.
** In Comic 63, Arceus says [[BlatantLies he does not have 90 base power in]] VideoGame/PokemonShuffle.
** The remake of Comic 95 has Miss Robot appear, commenting on how bad the comic was, [[labelnote:Explanation]]The reason she thinks it's bad also breaks the fourth wall, as Miss Robot tells Poyo Ride the comic sucked, because this was the last comic before she made her first appearance in Comic 96.[[/labelnote]] and later asks Poyo Ride to do a remake of Comic 96.
* TheBusCameBack: When first introduced in 2014, Kirby was nothing more than a very minor character, and he didn't appear much in stories and comics in 2015, only getting one comic appearance during the year. Then 2016 came and Kirby became one of the main characters in a matter of a few comics.
* ButtMonkey: Blue Kirby is this in a few comics.
** Mettaton is either getting arrested or harmed in the series, much, much more than Blue Kirby.
** Cloudass also gets this treatment.
* CallBack:
** Comic 101 is this, as it shows events from some of the first 100 comics.
** Comic 162 describes four event ideas for a sequel to VideoGame/KirbyAirRide, one of which being "Dyna Blade eats the city". This is a reference to a Facebook post by Dyna Blade where she discusses ideas for new Kirby Air Ride events, most of them involving her eating something in the game.
** In Comic 172, Miss Robot throws the sun into a garbage dump. When the dump is shown, Comic 2 and Comic 38 can be seen in the dump, due to the fact series creator Poyo Ride regarded them as the worst comics at that time.
** In the Comic 85 remake, the original Green Kirby points out that back in his day, the main eight kirbies were not swapped out.
** In her essay in Comic 202, Dyna Blade claims she wants [[PutOnABus Mrs. Bairis]] back, as she didn't care if Dyna Blade burned the school down.
** In the fanmade "TARS Animated," the "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgtMh8kkX-c Shorties 1]]" episode references Comic 190's Deviantart description where Poyo Ride claims he's voting a pebble for president.
* TheCameo: Comic 150's remake is littered with posters and schoolwork all over the hallway. One piece of schoolwork, a science fair project, happens to be [[spoiler: Comic 84: Splatfest: Art VS Science, albeit redrawn to fit the frame]].
* CapsLock: Dyna Blade speaks in all caps in almost every comic. In one Facebook post, she "forgets" to type her sentence in caps and comments about it in the post.
* CatchPhrase:
** The Shadow Star's line, [[BlatantLies "You Can't Find Me"]]
** Dyna Blade's VerbalTic "SQUWAK", used in various sentences. It is misspelled throughout the comic's entire run. [[labelnote:note]] The correct spelling is "Squawk."
** [[LargeHam STADIUM PREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDICTION!]]
* CatSmile: Blue Kirby has one in Comic 182.
* CharacterBlog: In 2014, before the comic era, most of the main/recurring characters had a Facebook account, including White Kirby, Blue Kirby, Yellow Kirby, Red Kirby, Green Kirby, Pink Kirby, Dyna Blade, Shadow Star, All Patch, Lucario, Mewtwo, Darkrai, Stadium Prediction, Poorly Drawn Kirby, Orange Kirby, Mega Man, Quick Man, Air Man, the Bulk Star, Charge Patch, Dyna Blade's Mom, Jumping Assbot, the Swerve Star, and Tom Nook. The Facebook era ended when White Kirby was terminated. [[note]] Following him getting terminated were Mega Man and Mewtwo. Orange Kirby also got terminated before White Kirby. [[/note]] Nightmare (FNAF), Springtrap, Freddy Fazbear, and Papyrus got Facebook accounts after White's termination.
** Twitter accounts were made also. The original plan was to move all the facebooks to twitter after White Kirby's termination. [[note]] White Kirby, Blue Kirby, Yellow Kirby (Who later had his account used for Miss Robot) Dyna Blade, Shadow Star, Miss Robot, and Mettaton got twitter accounts. [[/note]]
* ChekhovsVolcano: In Comic 150, Mrs. AMP is teaching the kids about the volcano under the school. Guess what happened...
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: Various characters in the series have been entirely forgotten about, especially in 2016. Examples include: The All Patch, Orange Kirby, Green Kirby, Purple Kirby, Brown Kirby, Pink Kirby, Poyo Ride/Throw Kirby, Darkrai, Lucario Sinnoh, Dyna Blade's Mother, all Mega Man and FNAF characters, Ridley, King K. Rool, Antasma, and perhaps most notably, Silver Kirby, who disappeared as soon as his story arc was about to get started.
** A while after Green Kirby and Purple Kirby were subject to this trope, Poyo Ride decided to replace them, and give a reason why they left. They left to join bigger and better air ride groups.
* CloudCuckooLander: Kirby and the new Purple Kirby.
** And to an extent Miss Robot, though this is caused due to the kids hacking her, including Kirby.
* ColorfulThemeNaming: Literally. Almost all kirbies in the series are named after their body color.
* CounterfeitCash: Miss Robot Bucks.
* CoveredWithScars: Brown Kirby from Comic 55 to Comic 72.
* CrapsackWorld: Crappy Town is Type 2, and they're PROUD of it. In Kingdom Royale, they attempt to preserve their status as a terrible place to be by making sure the kingdom Crappy Town is in does not merge with a very civilized kingdom, and in The New Mayor of Crappy Town, the characters have to defeat the mayor, who is trying to make Crappy Town an ordinary place. ([[WellIntentionedExtremest Although his methods are a bit extreme.]])
* {{Crossover}}: Comic 10 focuses on the characters meeting the characters from Green Kirby Air Ride. Comic 47 has them meeting with The Adventures of Yellow Kirby characters. Several GKAR characters have appeared in other comics, like 25 and 67. Characters from some of Poyo's minor series have made appearances in comics.
** TARS crossovers became nonexistent in 2016, with GKAR and Poyo's other series' dying out.
* DadaComics: MISS ROBOT IS BURNING DOWN THE SCHOOL AGAINNNNNNNNN.
* DisproportionateRetribution: In Comic 153, Dyna Blade gathers a team to blow up Nightmare's fortress... because it blocked planets that she could've shot down with her AK-47.
* TheDragon: In White & Red Kirby: Stupidstar Saga, [[spoiler: Kirby]], who the BigBad of the game, [[spoiler: Miss Robot]], has fight the kirbies while she flees to the final area.
** In the Fright to da Finish arc, Cloudass/Kracko counts as one for Nightmare.
* DreadfulMusician: Miss Robot 11.0.'s songs are widely hated by many of the characters, due to their highly mature themes.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The first 25 comics, due to using the oval tool to draw the kirby feet. Special mention goes to the first two comics, and their use of handwritten text, which looks atrocious.
* EasilyDetachableRobotParts: In Comic 117, during a bet, Miss Robot bets her engine, her batteries, and her wheel, while Miss Robot 2.0. bets her head.
* EverybodyHatesMathematics:
** In Comic 95, Dyna Blade cannot solve the simplest math problems, and proceeds to light her test on fire.
** Mr. Mathsuks's personality revolves entirely around hating math. Ironically, he is the math teacher.
* EveryoneWentToSchoolTogether: In Air Ride Preschool, it is revealed all the main characters went to preschool together.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** In Kirby Joins a Gang, [[spoiler: every kid except Kirby thought the gang was a bad idea. These are kids who burn down the school daily.]]
** The Magnetic Field Wiki never mentions Mrs. AMP by name. At least the kids have some respect for her privacy.... [[DownplayedTrope kind of, since there's an image of her on the wiki.]]
* {{Expy}}:
** Silver Kirby is an expy of Golden Kirby from ''Webcomic/GreenKirbyAirRide''. Both are occasional background characters, who peek in from the corner of the comic. [[spoiler: According to Poyo Ride, Golden Kirby was also evil, like Silver Kirby, although the wiki page doesn't directly state it. [[labelnote:explanation]] One line on the page states "Gains his trust, later betrays him...", implying he was a villain in GKAR. (Him is Green Kirby, the main protagonist.) [[/labelnote]].]] Despite the fact TARS was made before GKAR, Silver Kirby was made after Golden Kirby.
* FantasticRacism: The Art Teacher.
* FishEyes: Miss Robot loves doing this.
* FinalBattle: The comic where the kirbies fight [[spoiler: Mettaton EX]] is the second to last comic in the series timeline, and in the last one, no battle occurs, so the battle in that comic is technically the final battle of TARS.
* {{Flanderization}}
** Kirby: While at first he was a hero who saved Crappy Town from danger, he slowly turned into his idiotic self as the comic went on.
** Meta Knight was a wise member of Crappy Town, until all he could say is "I'M FIRST ON THE TIER LIST!"
** Mrs. AMP transformed into the teacher who got angry at the slightest things, to the "generic mean teacher."
** Miss Robot originally got destroyed by the kids, and every now and then she would get hacked. Then all she did was get hacked.
* FireIceLightning: Miss Robot 17.0., 18.0., and 19.0. have these three powers.
* FlippingTheBird
** Kirby's official artwork, which shows him flipping off the audience.
** In Comic 17, White Kirby flips off Bowser.
** Blue Kirby flips off Tom Nook in Comic 19.
** Comic 30 has White Kirby flip off King Dedede.
** Comic 61 features White Kirby flipping off the audience in a panel the comic team didn't bother to make.
** In Comic 89, Poyo Ride flips off Zapdos.
** In Comic 95, Mrs. AMP flips off Dyna Blade.
** Comic 101 was a compilation of several comic moments, and White Kirby's appearance in Comic 30 made it in.
** In Comic 161, where Nana flips off the 3ds shipment plane.
* FlyingSaucer: The Shadow Star & All Patch's favorite hiding spot.
* ForeShadowing:
** Comic 82 foreshadows the events of Comic 83.
** Several comics have a "NEXT TIME" panel as the last panel, hinting at the next comic.
** Dyna Blade flips Mettaton's switch in Comic 147, though [[spoiler: Mettaton EX]] cannot be seen, as the panel graphics are replaced by Mettaton's LCD's showing a penis.
** In the Youtube video [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE9AuoOkH2I Kirby Annotation Ride 2]], based around TARS, the Stadium Prediction says that the kirbies will meet with the Muffin Man. 6 minutes into the video, [[spoiler: [[BackgroundMusicOverride the Muffin Man's theme song starts abruptly playing after minutes of no music.]]]]
** Yellow Devil's stage was confirmed to be in SMSB's M.U.G.E.N. port, when the last stage revealed was another Mega Man stage a few days prior. Then the next day, Yellow Devil got into the game as a playable character.
* FourElementEnsemble: Four of the Miss Robot models make up one of these. There's [[PlayingWithFire 17.0.]], [[AnIcePerson 18.0.]], [[ShockAndAwe 19.0.]], and [[PoisonousPerson 20.0.]]
* FunnyRobot: Miss Robot. Almost any second she is in a comic, Miss Robot is doing something stupid. This ranges from drinking lava, confirming she hacks herself, or the fact her favorite drink, water, causes her to explode.
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: InUniverse with the Ride School yearbook. Nobody joined the yearbook club, which was ran by [[CloudCuckooLander Miss Robot]]. Miss Robot replaced the yearbook with her own book, "Pictures of Miss Robot", which is filled with "interesting" images featuring Miss Robot. [[labelnote:note]] The front cover features Miss Robot exposing her private parts and getting wasted.[[/labelnote]]
* TheGhost: Kirby's parents.
* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: In a Mario & Luigi style fake game that was made for the series, there were several random bosses.
** The All Patch. Randomly fought inside the UFO for no real reason.
** Yellow Kirby, fought at Blue Wood for no reason besides having a Yellow Kirby battle in the game.
** Green Kirby. He is fought in the Icy Cave with no real reason.
** Ridley.
** Mrs. AMP.
** [[spoiler:Dark Kirby, who is supposed to be the final boss, comes out of nowhere and has nothing to do with the plot.]]
** [[spoiler:Alakazam]], one of the game's two hidden bosses, is very random, as said character has nothing to do with TARS.
* GiftedlyBad: In Comic 199, Miss Robot claims her piece of art, the "White Wonder", will have you staring at it all day. The white wonder is [[spoiler: a blank piece of paper]].
* GirlsWithMoustaches: All of the Miss Robot Models are confirmed to be female. Miss Robot 22.0. has a beard in her artwork.
* GoKartingWithBowser: All eight air ride kirbies go to Six Flags together in a story, despite the fact some of them hate each other.
* GoLookAtTheDistraction: As Comic 200 focuses on the Mettaton battle in Undertale, Yellow Kirby uses a very similar strategy that Alphys used to turn Mettaton around, distracting Mettaton by saying something is behind him that actually isn't.
* GoneHorriblyWrong: See GettingCrapPastTheRadar above.
* GrumpyOldMan: This is the New Green Kirby's character trait.
* HalloweenEpisode: Comic 91, where [[SternTeacher Mrs. AMP]] deals with trick or treaters. Originally, a Halloween comic was planned for 2016, but it never was made.
** There were also 6 short Halloween themed stories made in 2014.
* HarmlessVillain: Name a time when Brown Kirby was a threat to Crappy Town.
* HistoricalInJoke: Comic 21 & 83 (9-11) 38, (The Boston Tea Party) 40 (Mayflower), 96 (JFK assassination), 105 (Boston Marathon Bombings), 108 (2015 Paris Attacks) 174 (Killing of Harambe), and 179 (Bunker Hill).
* HostileShowTakeover: Occasionally, Mettaton will take over the comic descriptions on Deviantart.
** Dyna Blade is revealed this way in SMSB M.U.G.E.N. The post confirming her appearance is written in her point of view, and it's heavily implied she wasn't supposed to be the character revealed that day InUniverse, and she trampled whoever was actually planned to be revealed.
* IdiotBall: Happens very frequently in TARS. The most common idiot balls are Kirby and Miss Robot.
** Comic 40: The Shadow Star sticks his Iphone into the mayflower, causing it to sink.
** Comic 95: Dyna Blade lights her math worksheet on fire and shows it to Mrs. AMP, due to the fact she likes teaching the kids about heat. The school burns down because of this.
** Comic 113: Dr. Mario lights the hospital on fire after Kirby eats the doorknob.
** Comic 123: This comic revolves entirely around 10 scenarios where Kirby ends the world.
** Comic 140: Miss Robot drinks lava, causing the science club to become filled with lava.
** Comic 172: Kirby takes the sun out of the sky and gives it to Mrs. AMP, because she likes talking about it in class.
** Comic 175: Kirby cuts the school in half because it's a half day.
* IncrediblyObviousBomb: In Comic 163, Mettaton forgets to disguise one of his bombs, and when White Kirby finds it, he lights it and the news station goes BOOOOM.
* InNameOnly: Comic 15 and 85 were some of the remade comics, with 85 being made after the series was cancelled. Remake really stretches it, though. Comic 15 remakes the original comic... as a panel for a long panel comic that greatly expands on this comic's background. Comic 15 definitely feels like a remake though, when compared to the Comic 85 remake. Comic 85's remake is not anywhere close to the original. It's also been turned into a long panel comic. Rayquaza's role in the comic remains intact, but that's literally the only thing similar to the original. Zygarde doesn't find steroids on the ground, he instead buys them from someone. Also, he doesn't buy steroids, he buys 100 cells instead. The comic features many characters who didn't get into the original comic. Mettaton tries to stop Zygarde, but gets blown up. [[spoiler: Zygarde destroys Crappy Town as well, because his game was skipped. The characters who returned for ''Webcomic/AirRideAdventures'' show up on a cruise, only to see their home destroyed.]] What's the original like? Zygarde shows up in his new form to attack everyone, with a few characters commenting on it. In fact, Comic 85's remake is considered a sequel to the original, and it's even mentioned in the comic remake Zygarde's done it before.
* InternalHomage: Several comics were remade.
* JobStealingRobot: Miss Robot 6.0. has every job in the world.
* KilledOffForReal [[spoiler: Of all things, the first school (Ride School) was destroyed for good, because Miss Robot was throwing rocks in the volcano underneath the school. The reason why it didn't come back, unlike every other time it was destroyed, was because of the lava in the area preventing it from restoring itself magically without being destroyed again.]]
* KillerRobot: Mettaton will kill you if he doesn't have to pay you the 2 million dollars he promised you if you came on his show.
* KillItWithWater: Dumping water on Miss Robot will cause her to explode. However, she later comes back in a new body. Miss Robot actually loves drinking water, despite the fact it causes her to explode.
* LastEpisodeNewCharacter: Comic 203, the finale, introduces one new character to TARS. [[spoiler: Red Kirby. The one from The World of Air Ride.]]
* LawOfWikiExpansion: An [[InvertedTrope inversion]]. The Air Ride Group originally covered all of Poyo Ride's comics, and some other random things too, but later the other comics were given their own wikis, and a chunk, but not all, of the pages that weren't TARS related were deleted off of the wiki.
* LazyArtist:
** Poyo Ride prefers not to draw most characters, and instead uses preexisting images to represent them.
** Poyo Ride also rarely uses his own characters, and usually takes characters from preexisting media.
** The final boss of White & Red Kirby: Stupidstar Saga, is a recolor of Blue Kirby's sprite.
*** The final boss is also a clear ripoff of [[spoiler:Dark Bowser, the final boss of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story.]]
** Comic 61 has a panel that states that the comic team was too lazy to draw that panel, complete with a picture of White Kirby flipping off the audience.
** Comic 173 looks more like artwork than a comic. Mrs. AMP in particular has her face scribbled on, and wasn't even colored. The creator considers this to be one of the worst comics in the series.
* LegacyCharacter: Dyna Blade. After TARS was cancelled, she appeared in all of the major "series" in between TARS and the reboot.
** Also, Blue Kirby, appearing in TARS, the reboot, both Poyo and Kidsy's ARA's, and ''Webcomic/GreenKirbyAirRide''.
* LethalKlutz:
** Kirby and Miss Robot. This dynamic duo love to mess around in the school. Everywhere they go, they destroy something and cause havoc to break out in the school. They are also some of the dumbest characters in the series.
** Purple Kirby. Despite the fact he got little comic appearances due to being added late into the series, he has shown he can be super destructive in City Trial.
* LoneWolfBoss: Every single boss in the aforementioned Stupidstar Saga except Kirby, Rayquaza, Mewtwo, and Miss Robot.
* LoopholeAbuse: In The New Mayor of Crappy Town, several characters try this. The Mayor tries preventing [[UsefulNotes/TheWarOnTerror 9-11]] [[BlackComedy from happening]]. His solution is to put a forcefield around the towers that blocks planes from coming close to the towers. Then, Maxwell suddenly appears and writes a flying truck into existence. This causes a flying truck forcefield to get installed too. Dyna Blade then comes in and tries trampling the Twin Towers. A bird forcefield is later installed. The UFO then comes flying in, but it's flying slowly, so it's not a threat, until it suddenly speeds up and crashes into the towers.
* MisplacedKindergartenTeacher: The Bus Driver. He treats the kids as if they're in kindergarten. His bus doesn't help, as it's filled with kiddie decorations.
* MoodWhiplash: After [[spoiler: Dyna Blade]] is done revealing everything in Comic 203 in a more serious sounding tone than usual, White Kirby says that he doesn't care and wants the 2 million dollars he was promised. [[spoiler: Dyna Blade]] promises him the 2 million dollars [[spoiler: in Monopoly Money]] tomorrow, then calls up Red Kirby [[spoiler: (The one from The World of Air Ride)]] and asks for two million dollars [[spoiler: in Monopoly money.]]
* MoralityDial: In a way with Miss Robot. While there's no good/evil switch, the commands given to her via Missrobothacking.com can range in morality.
* MythologyGag: Poyo Ride made a [[https://stiltlet.deviantart.com/art/Super-Bell-Stamp-Post-Remake-714006830 comic]] that was a remake of one of his old stamp comics on Miiverse, featuring the Super Bell from VideoGame/SuperMario3dWorld on the beach, with one of the Sprixies having killed Cat Toad. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with TARS. However, [[spoiler: Dyna Blade appears in the background, flying towards the beach. This heavily implies that the events of this comic take place moments before the events of Comic 1: Dyna Blade & the Beach.]]
** While several comics were remade, Comic 143's remake [[note]] Made after the comic was cancelled. [[/note]] was made on the computer that was used for comics before the shift to the laptop and a current version of MS Paint. Comic 143 was the first comic that was made using the laptop, so it made sense that its remake was made on the original computer.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Mrs. Anger Management Problems.
* NegativeContinuity:
** In Comic 123, Kirby ends the world in ten different scenarios in this comic, yet in the next comic, everything is fine.
** The explosion in Comic 136 should have killed off White Kirby, but he's fine in the next comic.
** Kirby slashes the school in half in Comic 175, though it's perfectly fine in the next comic.
** In Comic 186, Miss Robot 17.0. burns down the school, while Miss Robot 4.0. runs over the school in the same comic.
** Mettaton has a grave in Comic 200, implying he died, but is perfectly fine in the Comic 85 remake.
** Blue Kirby is drowning in Comic 68, despite 2 comics earlier, White Kirby tells the audience kirbies are unable to drown.
*** Silver Kirby seems to be drowning in Comic 80.
* NewJobAsThePlotDemands: Miss Robot 6.0., although she only gets one comic appearance and a mention, so her only jobs are being a firefighter and host of the Olympic Games.
* NewYearSameClass: Downplayed. Kirby still had Mrs. AMP after his Ride School years were over, though WordOfGod states that she was not his homeroom teacher.
* NiceMeanAndInBetween: The school trio, Kirby, Mrs. AMP, and Miss Robot. The nice member is downplayed with Kirby being the nice one, as although he disrupts the class, he often acts innocent and childlike. Mrs. AMP is the mean one, (Hence her name being Mrs. Anger Management Problems) as she hates Kirby. Miss Robot is in between, as her hacking usually results in random things happening, ranging from just playing in the basketball tournament to destroying the school, including [[spoiler: permanently destroying Ride School in Comic 150 by erupting the volcano underneath the school.]]
* NoIndoorVoice:
** Dyna Blade is constantly screaming.
** Mrs. Loudness also has this problem.
* NotWhatISignedOnFor: In Comic 38, Brown Kirby is invited to the discussion on how to beat Antasma, being told it's an evil villain club. He proceeds to complain.
* NumberOfTheBeast: 666 used to be a common joke in TARS.
* OneWheeledWonder: Miss Robot and many of her models. Mettaton counts too.
* OhCrap
** In Comic 1, when Mega Man reacts to the beach getting destroyed.
** Blue Kirby in Comic 1, 27, and 67, as he appears drowning.
** In Comic 26, when Blue Kirby falls off of the plane, and Silver Kirby is barely hanging on.
** In Comic 34, when Yellow Kirby realizes he has to fight Meta Knight.
** In Comic 56, when Kirby is being eaten by Dyna Blade.
** In Comic 64, when the villains realize Dyna Blade has destroyed the rollercoaster.
** The kirbies reacting to Metal Man appearing on the plane in Comic 83, minus Blue Kirby, who doesn't seem to care.
** In Comic 92, when Christopher Columbus is attacked by the characters.
** Various characters react shocked when Dyna Blade drops the New Years ball early in Comic 121.
** A random pedestrian gets caught by Red Kirby in Comic 129, running across the football field. He says "Oh Shit" when he is caught.
** In Comic 136, when the Creeper is about to blow up White Kirby's house.
** In Comic 150, when Kirby realizes that the TNT factory is going to be hit by the lava flooding the school.
** In Comic 159, when the Shadow Star and Blue Kirby are about to get hit by fireworks.
** In Comic 161, when the police arrive to arrest the Ice Climbers for burning down Mt. Everest.
** In Comic 162, when White Kirby and Blue Kirby realize a time bomb is about to explode on them. The Shadow Star also has an "Oh, Crap!" moment in the next scenario, when the UFO is about to crash.
** In Comic 163, when Mettaton realizes that people have found out he blew up a random building.
** In Comic 167, where Mettaton gets caught selling fake cars.
** In Comic 168, when the cops find out about Mettaton's closet.
** Nurby's reaction to Miss Robot throwing chemicals at him.
** In Comic 178, when Mettaton gets stuck in the UsefulNotes/McDonalds slide.
** In Comic 180, when Dreambert reflects the missile thrown at him by White Kirby onto the Robo Drilldigger.
** In Comic 185, when Mettaton attacks Trump for calling him "not fabulous".
** In Comic 186:
*** When Miss Robot 11.0. comes at Miss Robot 13.0. with a wrecking ball.
*** When Miss Robot 17.0. realizes she is about to breathe fire.
** In Comic 189, when Red Kirby is attacked by a Yellow Box.
** In Comic 194, when TAC is about to be shot by Red Kirby.
** In Comic 199, when Miss Robot [[spoiler: realizes she's been caught painting absolutely nothing in an art contest.]]
** In Comic 200, when Mettaton [[spoiler: realizes the Yellow Devil is about to kill him]].
** Yellow Kirby's reaction to seeing Zygarde's true form in the Comic 85 remake.
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: The assbot trio.
* OnlySaneMan: Mrs. AMP seems to be the only character in the series who actually is sane. This stands out more as the characters she is seen with most are Kirby and Miss Robot.
* OnTheNext: Several comics have a "Next Time" panel, which hints at the very next comic. [[labelnote:*]]Except for [[ScheduleSlip Comic 187 foreshadowing what became Comic 190]]. [[/labelnote]]
* OriginalCharacter: Of the main cast, there's Miss Robot and Mrs. AMP. Dyna Blade's Mom, the Miss Robot Models, some colored Kirbies not present in ''Air Ride'', and others also qualify.
* OtherMeAnnoysMe: In "A dimension in space", when White Kirby gets annoyed that Blue Kirby, his counterpart in that dimension, has the Hydra assembled.
* PaletteSwap:
** All kirbies in the series except for Brown Kirby look almost identical in appearance.
*** Even then, Brown Kirby's only unique feature is his wings.
** Miss Robot has had 23 clones that are very similar in design.
** Mrs. AMP, Mrs. Loudness, and the preschool teacher all look identical except for their body color, and Mrs. AMP's brown hair.
* PaperThinDisguise: In Kirby Joins a Gang, Miss Robot disguises herself by painting herself black, and gluing a globe to her head, making her look like a human. Kirby does not notice Miss Robot's wheel until later on in the story. Later on, she tries painting herself a "slightly lighter shade of orange."
* PinkGirlBlueBoy: Pink Kirby, the only female kirby, is Pink (hence the name) while Blue Kirby is male.
* PrankCall:
** Kirby prank calls Bill Cipher in Comic 123, and jokingly asks him to destroy the world.
** In the story "The School Phone Network", Kirby and Miss Robot prank call Nurby saying he has won a million dollars, and give him coordinates to a volcano.
* PromotedToPlayable: In the fake SMSB when TARS was still going on, the Yellow Devil was the boss of Wily's Castle. Even though Wily's Castle and his Mega Man 1 arena were confirmed as stages in the M.U.G.E.N. adaptation of SMSB, Yellow Devil was confirmed to not reprise his role as a boss. Instead, he's going to be added in as a playable newcomer.
* ProtagonistWithoutAPast: White Kirby is never given any backstory aside from Air Ride Preschool, which doesn't really give anyone aside from Mrs. AMP a backstory, and Blue Kirby's backstory, where he appears and meets Blue Kirby, which has been confirmed to be non canon by Poyo Ride, therefore giving White Kirby no backstory.
* RealLifeWritesThePlot:
** In music class, the music teacher had groups of two perform a skit, featuring a song. Poyo Ride and his friend had to do one on "Flight of the Bumblebee". Poyo's friend came up with a joke skit, where the bee flies into an oven, which later inspired Comic 53, and the Bumblebee character.
** The reason Mrs. AMP is a science teacher is because Poyo's current homeroom teacher was a science teacher at the time.
* RedOniBlueOni:
** Kirby is the red to Mrs. AMP's blue.
** Kirby is also the red to Nurby's blue.
* TheRemake: Several TARS Comics have gotten remakes, even after the series was over.
* ResurrectiveImmortality: WordOfGod says that each character in TARS has a life system, similar to a video game, and when they die, they lose a life. This was never explained in the comics apart from Miss Robot's ten billion copies stored in the school's basement.
* {{Retcon}}: Comic 203 reveals Arceus's actual backstory, which causes Comic 79 to be retconned. While it was White Kirby's take on the event, Poyo Ride said it actually happened.
** Earlier on, in mid-2015, a [[http://theairridegroup.wikia.com/wiki/File:New_Blue.jpg teaser for a new Blue Kirby form was posted]]. It is likely this had to do with Blue Kirby getting all of the pieces. A year later, after no appearance from this weird form, Poyo Ride claimed it was cut from the series, and Blue Kirby smoked a lot of pot that day. Then, it was revealed that when Blue Kirby gets three pieces, he transforms into [[spoiler: Rick Astley.]]
* TheReveal: In Comic 203, [[spoiler: it's revealed that the entire series was AllJustADream White Kirby had, because Dyna Blade put him to sleep for 3 years, and gave him some sort of virtual reality world known as "Crappy Town." Dyna Blade even felt like showing up for a lot of the events.]]
* RoboticPsychopath: Mettaton.
* RuleOfFunny: Often used in TARS.
* RunningGag: Mettaton getting caught by the cops at the end of his comics.
** Post-series, [[ButtMonkey Blue Kirby]] drowning in three comics despite Comic 66 proving Kirbies are immune to drowning has been referenced and joked about countless times.
* SameCharacterButDifferent: Kirby.
* SatelliteCharacter: Most of the Miss Robot models could work on their own as an individual character if the other 23 Miss Robot's didn't exist, and the #.0. being removed from their name. However, there's Miss Robot 2.0., who only exists to be Miss Robot's rival.
* SchoolIsForLosers: This trope is basically Kirby in a nutshell. Kirby is never paying attention in class, and always causing mischief.
* SeriesContinuityError:
** As said on this page already about 10 times, Comic 66 claims kirbies can't drown, while Blue Kirby is drowning in Comic 1, 27, and 68. Silver Kirby also appears to be drowning in Comic 80.
** The April 1st, 2015 direct was covered as the first extra comic, while the November 2015 Nintendo Direct was a regular comic.
** Kirbys backstory on the wiki claims he killed his parents. Despite this, he is still going to school, despite the fact he is not being supervised, and he is vocal about his hatred for school.
* SequelHook: Poyo Ride posted on deviantart that he expresses interest in bringing back Kirby, Mrs. AMP, Miss Robot, Rayquaza, Kyurem, and Mettaton into their own series's. He also said that the school trio might be reserved for his school notebooks, and not be posted online, while Rayquaza & Kyurem will have to wait a few years.
** The Comic 95 remake confirms the school comic reboot is in the works, although it probably won't be posted online.
** In Comic 203, not only is the ENTIRE comic a connection between the original and the reboot, the comic also drops a heavy hint at a school comic reboot. [[spoiler: When Dyna Blade is explaining how the characters in White Kirby's dream world aren't actual people, she says there could be "a few exceptions" as some of her later character ideas were based on real things she's heard. This is said when the background is a school, with what appears to be Miss Robot inside. Miss Robot is coming back in some form, and its pretty much confirmed that a school comic reboot is taking place in the same universe as TWAR.]]
* ShameIfSomethingHappened: The Creeper does this in Comic 136.
* SitcomArchNemesis: Miss Robot 2.0. is one to [[CloudCuckooLander Miss Robot]].
* SomebodyDoesntLoveRaymond: Mettaton goes ballistic when Trump tells him he is not fabulous.
* TheShowMustGoWrong: The field trip to the play house goes horribly wrong. Kirby steals the bus to buy popcorn, and later gives his body to Bill Cipher. Dyna Blade sneaks onto the catwalk and falls on one of the actors. Miss Robot comes in dressed as Adolf Hitler, despite the fact the play is supposed to be about the war between Athens and Sparta. Blue Kirby makes the school steal more electricity during the play, and also hijacks the bus, causing it to be driven into a black hole by a pigeon. Bill Cipher in Kirby's body also proceeds to burn down the play house. At the very least Miss Robot showed up to pay for all the damage [[spoiler: in Miss Robot Bucks.]]
* SpellMyNameWithAThe: The Shadow Star, most of the time.
* SpinOff: Three:
** TARS X, based off of VideoGame/MegaManX. 100 years after the events of TARS, we see the daily lives of White X and friends fighting off the hectics.
** Air Ride Preschool: The opposite of TARS X, taking place in the past, showing the lives of the TARS crew when they were in preschool.
** A Day in the Life of the Shadow Star: This series revolves around the Shadow Star's daily life of hiding on the UFO.
* {{Spoiler}}: Silver Kirby's wiki page reveals [[spoiler: he is a villain who wants to destroy Crappy Town]] 11 months before this is revealed in Comic 99.
** He is also listed in the [[spoiler: villains]] category.
* SpoilerTitle: The name for Comic 150 tells us how the Ride School era concludes.
* ShoutOut:
** 85% of characters are from preexisting media.
** Rocky is intended to be a reference to ''ComicBook/DreamwavesMegaMan''.
** Dr. Mario's final smash in SMSB is a reference to Mankalor's 100 ways to fail in ''Super Smash Bros. Wii U''.
** Comic 61 has "PURPLE ASS" appear in the lobby. "PURPLE ASS" was Purple Kirby's screen name when ''Webcomic/GreenKirbyAirRide'' made a ''Call of Duty'' comic.
** Comic 144 is a ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'' parody.
** In Comic 169, Papyrus calls the Creeper a "blue penis." This is a ShoutOut to Purple Shep, who mistakes the color green for blue.
** Mr. Yalowitz is named after a teacher from "Loser." This wasn't meant to be anything against the book, (considering what Mr. Y did) but it was an attempt to make his name sound as normal as possible.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: In 2016, seven characters got a much larger amount of attention than the rest of the cast. The seven were [[TheHero White Kirby]], [[TheRival Blue Kirby]], [[HairTriggerTemper Dyna Blade]], [[AntiRoleModel Mettaton]], and the three main school characters, [[SchoolIsForLosers Kirby]], [[OnlySaneMan Mrs. AMP]], and [[FunnyRobot Miss Robot]]
** King K. Rool also deserves a mention for his appearance rate during mid-2015. As Poyo Ride said himself post-series, "Late 2015. If K. Rool would fit into the comic, K. Rool gets into the comic."
** Ridley's appearance rate from comic 23-33 was also very high, with Poyo Ride addressing it as an issue.
** In terms of the minor four kirbies, Green Kirby and Brown Kirby got much, much more screentime than Pink and Purple Kirby.
* SpriteComic: If you count artwork as being a sprite. Downplayed, since there are some characters [[labelnote:including]] Humans, Kirbies and Miss Robots [[/labelnote]] who use hand drawn sprites. A few comics, such as Comic 175, actually don't use ant imported images.
* StatusQuoIsGod:
** Every time Ride School/Crappy Town Academy gets destroyed, it magically comes back [[spoiler: except in Comic 150.]]
** When characters die, they come back to life without any explanation. While never explained during the series's run, Poyo Ride says each character has "lives", like in a video game, and when they die, they lose a life.
* SuckySchool: RIDE SCHOOL!
** Firstly, there's [[CloudCuckooLander Miss Robot]] and all of her [[PaletteSwap Palette Swaps.]] Special mention goes to the vanilla, who gets the most screentime, and therefore causes the most trouble, 4.0., 10.0., 16.0., 17.0., and 23.0. [[note]] From left to right, these five are [[DidntThinkThisThrough ten times the size of the school]], made to be evil, a bee with a STINGER, has fire powers that go off at random WITHOUT the influence of the kiddies, and 23.0. IS A FUCKING BOMB! [[/note]] Seriously, who approved [[https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/theairridegroup/images/6/6a/Miss_Robot_23.0..png/revision/latest?cb=20161024033136 THIS]] as a teacher?
** The Miss Robots aren't the big problem though. That would be the kids. The characters in TARS really don't like school. They're consistently burning down the school, destroying property, disrupting class, hacking Miss Robot, causing the problem mentioned above, and much more. For example, during the aquarium visit mentioned on the wiki, the kids fed Mrs. AMP to the sharks, drained all the water, shot one of the dolphins, stole a Shark, Coelacanth, and goods from the gift shop, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking banged on the glass.]]
** The staff aren't much better. While the Principal Mr. Ridaire seems normal, the school district seems to be run by morons. They've approved of Miss Robot clones like 23.0., sponsored an event that harmed school staff, and agreed to a TnT factory being built on school grounds. There's also weird staff members. Examples include the aforementioned Miss Robot, Mrs. Bairis, who doesn't care what her kids are doing, Mr. Yalowitz, who ran a cocaine store, [[TechnologicallyBlindElders Dyna Blade's Mom]] as the TECH teacher, and a SANDWICH.
** Crappy Town Academy also deserves a mention, despite not appearing in stories as much as Ride School. As the successor to Ride School, some of the teachers moved to that school, and all of the kids came back too. This basically caused the whole Ride School problem to simply restart.
* TerribleArtist: In Comic 199, Miss Robot enters into an art contest by [[spoiler: entering a blank piece of paper.]] Mrs. AMP calls her out for this and Miss Robot is disqualified.
* TheStinger: Miss Robot's shown up for two. One of which is in Comic 186, where she tells the reader to [[PleaseSubscribeToOurChannel leave a comment]] and donate to her fake website. The other one is in Comic 95's remake, where she comes in, [[SelfDeprecation insults the comic,]] asks Poyo Ride to make a remake of Comic 96, [[note]] Miss Robot's first appearance. [[/note]] and gets excited over a school comic reboot.
** Mettaton showed up at the end of A Day in the Life of the Shadow Star 4 to announce that Comic 200 is coming soon.
* TookALevelInDumbass: Kirby's {{flanderization}} in early 2016 caused him to become one of the most idiotic characters in the series.
* TookALevelInJerkass:
** 2014/15 Kirby was a kind hearted kirby who saved the world, very similar to his game portrayal. Come 2016 and Kirby transforms into an idiotic jerk who thinks SchoolIsForLosers.
** In his first appearance, Mettaton just interrupts people's days by making them take his quiz show. In his next few appearances, he breaks into someone's house, kills over 200 people, scams people, and stashes drugs in his closet.
* {{Troll}}:
** Miss Robot does this a lot. One example is in "Field Trip to the Play House", where she personally shows up to pay for all the damage done to the play house and the bus [[spoiler: in Miss Robot Bucks.]]
** True to his real life counterpart, Sakurai is one in TARS. The quotes below from a Facebook post are an example.
->"''... Pic of the day: Ridley confirmed for Smash Brothers.''"
-->-- '''Sakurai''
->"''... OH HELL YES, I FINALLY MADE IT INTO THE GAME. ''"
-->-- '''Ridley''
->"''... Oh, I'm sorry, I put the wrong picture on the post. Here is the correct picture. *Posts picture of Creator/RidleyScott*''"
-->-- '''Sakurai''
->"''... WHO THE HELL IS THAT?''"
-->-- '''Ridley''
* TwoTeacherSchool: [[DownplayedTrope Downplayed.]] Mrs. AMP and Miss Robot are the only teachers that consistently appear in the school. However, there are more teachers, though they rarely appear.
* UnfortunateNames: Everyone calls Kracko "Cloudass." There's also the assbot trio, but they don't seem to mind.
** Do you wanna live in a town called CRAPPY town.
* UpgradeVSPrototypeFight: The unfinished Five Nights at Freddys 2 story was going to have the original animatronics and the kirbies fight the toy animatronics.
** Miss Robot and Miss Robot 2.0. also tend to get into petty fights.
* VerbalTic: Dyna Blade says "SQUWAK" [[note]] Spelled incorrectly in the comics. Correct spelling is "Squawk." [[/note]] in about half of her sentences.
* VirtualCelebrity: Miss Robot 11.0. and Mettaton. Being robots, they fall under this category. Unlike some characters that have this trope, people do know that they are robots.
* {{Villains}}: Main villains in TARS include Blue Kirby, Yellow Kirby, Dyna Blade, Mewtwo, and Mettaton.
* VillainDecay: In the 2016 comics, you can't even tell Blue Kirby is a villain anymore.
* VillainEpisode: Mettaton's comics usually focus on only him and his shows.
* WackyHomeroom: Kirby managed to make Mrs. AMP's homeroom a place where he does whatever he wants. His feuds with Mrs. AMP usually cause interesting things to happen. Let's not forget those times Miss Robot decides to barge in.

* WhamShot: Comic 203 has a big one. It starts at the end of Comic 85's remake. Super Mettaton is blown away, and Zygarde destroys Crappy Town. However, instead of the cruise ship with the ARA characters, we instead get a shot of White Kirby [[spoiler: [[AllJustADream waking up]]]] as the comic continues.
* WellIntentionedExtremest: The Mayor in the story "The New Mayor of Crappy Town." He wants to get rid of Crappy Town's status as a CrapsackWorld, but some of his methods aren't too kind.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse:
** In Comic 178, White Kirby poisoning the [=McDonald's=] food is suddenly forgotten about in favor for Mettaton getting stuck in the slide.
** In White & Red Kirby: Stupidstar Saga. The virus, a critical element of the story, is thrown out of the plot late into the game in favor of [[spoiler: Dark Kirby consuming Crappy Town in darkness]].

** Purple Kirby's parents being professional Air Riders.
** Green Kirby and White Kirby got new personality traits that were quickly forgotten about.
* WhatIf:
** TARS: A dimension in Space is a story where the characters travel to different dimensions. These dimensions have minor changes from the basic dimension, such as White Kirby & Blue Kirby swapping roles.
** Another unfinished story revolves around the characters going to an alternate universe, where the characters are replaced by Poyo Ride's original ideas for the characters. One example is White Kirby becoming Brown Kirby.
* WhoShotJFK: In this universe, it was Miss Robot, in her very first appearance. She was hacked by [[spoiler: Dwight D. Eisenhower]] to do it.
* WickedWitch: Generic Witch 47 is a parody of how common witches are in fairytales, and how similar they are to one another.
* WrongRestaurant: Miss Robot tries ordering drugs at [=McDonald's=].
* XtremeKoolLetterz: The series LOVES this trope.
