** I've seen MatPat's videos. There's no reason to think that Rosalina is related to Princess Peach - as stated above, they look marginally alike as a remnant of the game's beta stages. There isn't any other evidence to suggest a connection, and saying that Rosie's mother wasn't actually dead would undermine the significance of the events in the storybook.

They do look alike, don't they? Kammy (which could be short for "Kamella") could be harnessing the energy of the Power Stars to battle Mario in a Super Mode.

* The game was made in Japan first. "Rosetta" was her name originally, and then was changed for the international versions. (Not just to Rosalina, either - in the Italian version, I believe it is, she's named "Harmonie.") The reason she was named Rosetta originally is because Rosetta is a special type of orbit.

sister. In her storybook, she made it somewhat explicit that her mother was...dead, so it can't really be Peach. The storybook never says anything about her brother having a green hat. And if any of her family members were the same people she met in this game, don't you think she would've receognized them? And all of this is ignoring the fact that Rosalina's family lived and died ''eons'' ago - none of them, their children, or even their children's children could possibly be alive during the time this game takes place.

* Then why would she include them in the book at all? If they were abusive towards her and she just wanted to get away from them, she could've just made it a story about her and her mother, especially since the Lumas don't ever show any understanding of fatherhood.

* I think she's immortal because she spends all her time in the observatory travelling at faster-than-lightspeed. (It would have to travel that fast in order to move through the universe, but return to the Mushroom World every 100 years.) She ages so slowly because time is moving faster outside the observatory, which is also why she was still a young child when she realized the other members of her family were dead.

Bowser thought that maybe if he could utterly disintegrate Mario at the molecular level, he might bypass all the extra lives and [[DeaderThanDead keep Mario from coming back]]. It didn't work, obviously, which is why it's never seen again after that one level -- it's probably more expensive to make than good old fasioned lava, so no point to keep making it if it doesn't kill him better than anything else.

[[WMG: Rosalina's parents were Timpani and Blumiere, from ''Super Paper Mario'']]
* Basically, this theory proposes that Tippi and Blumiere were actually sent from the ''Paper Mario'' universe into the main-series universe after they destroyed the Chaos Heart, which would also explain how they and Rosalina could meet the same Mario - it actually ''wasn't'' the same Mario. There's a lot of evidence in support of this, so hear me out:
** Tippi and Blumiere are shown atop a hill near a tree after the credits of ''Super Paper Mario'', just like the hill described in Rosalina's storybook as being near her home. (Also, we see them walking away from the camera, indicating the world they ended up in ''was'' three-dimensional.)
** Rosalina and Count Bleck can both levitate, project barriers around themselves and others, and (possibly, in Rosalina's case) have vision problems. Bleck wears a monocle throughout the game, while Rosalina has PeekABangs that cover one of her eyes.
** In her storybook, Rosalina mentions stargazing with her father, just like Blumiere did back when he first met Timpani. (Described in one of Tippi's flashbacks.
** At the end of ''Galaxy 2'', when she's reunited with Luma, Rosalina makes a statement about how her desire to be reunited with Luma was stronger than some "mere whim of the stars," which is a similar concept to what Tippi tells Dimentio before he's defeated. ("All things determine their destinies.")

...is because to Japanese people, the pronounciation of the name "Rosalina" would have been too ambiguous ("Rosalina"? "Rosarina"? "Loselina"? All the spinoffs - and maybe even a few mainline platformers like 3D World and Galaxy 2 - take place in the new universe where Bowser and Mario aren't ''really'' sworn enemies, but are at worst indifferent towards each other. Bowser tries to keep up a villainous image, slowly sinking to the point where the worst thing he does is crash Mario's parties, before finally giving up and going to their kart racing tournaments.

[[WMG: Super Mario Galaxy is the last game in the "main" timeline.]]
In many of the Mario platformers, Mario and Bowser are sworn enemies and Bowser is legitimately threatening. However, in other games (particularly spinoffs), they're almost friends and Bowser is comic relief.

When the universe restarts at the end of the game, Bowser doesn't glare at Mario/Luigi at all, instead falling on his back clumsily and looking up. Both enemies and friendly [=NPCs=] are seen dancing and hanging out with no ill intent towards each other.

** Having a telescope and being tall doesn't necessarily mean Rosalina is related to Luigi. There are also a lot of people who green hats, big deal. Also, there's tons of people in the world who have lookalikes and not be related at all. It's called IdenticalStranger and Peach and Rosalina might not be an exception to that. And the part about the father having a mustache, that's ONLY in the French version. You'd think they would include that detail in other versions if it was so important.

* Or conversely Rosalina's mother is Peach, but her father is Luigi. Evidence is that one of her keepsakes is her father's telescope. Mario doesn't have a telescope, but Luigi does. Also, in the storybook, her brother has a green hat. Also, Rosalina tall, just like Luigi.

Rosalina's appearance is very similar to Peach's. Plus, the extreme closeup of Rosalina's mother has Peach's hair and earrings. Furthermore, in the French version, there is an extra page at the end of the storybook that mention her father and his mustache. Her phrasing at the end makes it clear that this isn't Rosalina's first trip to another universe either. The real reason she helps Mario is so that she doesn't lose her mother again.

Her mother was nice to her, but did little to help her. The girl portrays them somewhat affectionately, but that's because she wanted to make the story appropriate for young Lumas. The neglect and possible abuse explains why she initially had no problems with leaving her family behind to look for the Luma's mother. After finding out about his sister's journey into deep space, he started out on his own journey to find her. However, the aliens he encountered were not as friendly as the Lumas. These were the Black Arms, a murderous race of conquerors. He fought tooth and nail against these beasts, but even he fell to them after a long battle. The dying leader, impressed with this human's resilience and fighting prowess, saved his life by reconstructing his body into that of a new leader of the Black Arms. Afterwards, the leader died, leaving the reconstructed human to lead as Black Doom.
