The manga handles the problem by following a different plotline in each volume; the first hooks Keita up with "the King" Niwa and the second shows what would have happened if he had ended up with the BespectacledBastardBoyfriend Nakajima instead. He just decided not to explain to Keita or anybody else what he was doing and let Keita get worked up about incorrect rumours - he apologised at the end that it was all his fault.
