Added example(s). It comes as no surprise that I was one of said budding Anime fans, and I eventually became a big Ranma 1/2 fan in high school.

* DistancedFromCurrentEvents: The "Martial Figure Skating" arc, which included a girl who stole things and "kidnapped" people/animals out of CutenessProximity, was delayed because of several kidnappings which had taken place in Japan around the time the three episodes were set for broadcast. They would only be shown months later after the series had been UnCancelled and an episode depicting flashbacks to said episodes had been broadcast as part of the initial run.

* ShrugOfGod: Takahashi's famous reply when to being asked what would happen if Ranma got pregnant in female form and changed back into a guy: then returned to male form: "I don't bother to think about such things, and neither should you".
** In fan circles, a "pregnant Ranma" is something that is better left unanswered. TheOtherWiki once had an article on the phrase, but
it's better if you don't, either."no longer up.
** Doesn't stop a multitude of fanfics about it, of course. And even more about her getting a period.
** Given the usual method by which a woman becomes pregnant, the "dodging MoralGuardians and Shippers" reason comes into play as well.

* AmateurCast: The English dub was probably the first example of an uncut anime dub with union voice actors, partly because Viz Media outsourced the voice acting to the Vancouver based Ocean Studios. Like Tenchi Muyo above, most of the original cast didn't do much before hand, at least in terms of dubbing. That didn't mean most of them didn't do much afterwards. In fact several cast members still get roles to this day.

Trope Namer is no longer Trivia per TRS.

* TropeNamer for:
** TheGlomp: The very first appearance of the word glomp is in Manga/RanmaOneHalf Volume One Chapter 12, Ironically, it's used as a sound effect during a grapple between Ranma and Ryōga and not for the affectionate tackle/hug it represents today. The first time it was used as a verb, however, was in a fanfic-style "interview" conducted in a 1994 issue of Animerica, from which it spread like wildfire among fanfiction circles.

* ReclusiveArtist: Some of the dub voice actors are reclusive, which means they don't do interviews or come to conventions. Michael Donovan, who did the voice for Ryoga, is still active as a voice actor, but we don't know much about him because he's never done an interview. Sarah Strange, who was the first person to do the voice for boy-type Ranma, is still active as an on-camera television actress, but we don't know much about her because she doesn't have any social media presence. Myriam Sirois, who did the voice for Akane, retired from acting in 2008 to become a flight attendant, and she doesn't have any social media presence either. Angela Costain, who did the voice for Nabiki, and her sister Elaina Wotten-Costain, who did the voice for a couple dozen later episodes, both vanished off the face of the earth after the series ended.

* CrossDressingVoices: Irony Ironically considering the main gimmick of Ranma's character and his BerserkButton over having his masculinity challenged, in the dub, male Ranma was initially voiced by actress Sarah Strange for the first three seasons of the TV series, the [=OAVs=] and both movies. She did a surprisingly good male voice, such that you likely wouldn't realize unless you paid attention to the credits and wondered why his actor was called "Sarah"; in fact her take on male Ranma had an even deeper voice than Creator/RichardIanCox, who replaced her from Season 4 onwards.

* RelationshipVoiceActor:
** Italian dub: Creator/AntonellaBaldini (Akane) and Creator/MonicaWard (female Ranma) have also worked together on WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol and WesternAnimation/TotalDrama.
** Oddly enough, Creator/KappeiYamaguchi and Creator/NorikoHidaka (Ranma and Akane respectively) would later go on to voice L and Near. The same also holds true in the English dub, where Creator/BradSwaile and Cathy Waseluck (Mousse and Shampoo respectively) portray Light and Near, respectively.
** Music/MegumiHayashibara (Girl Ranma) and Shinnosuke Furumoto (Pantyhose Taro) both voiced Kimba in the 1989 version of Manga/KimbaTheWhiteLion with Megumi voicing Kimba as a child while Furumoto voiced Kimba as an adult, they also worked together on Manga/SorcererHunters where Megumi voiced Tira Misu and Furumoto voiced Carrot Clacé and they both sang the opening to the TV series as well.

* FanNickname:
** Fans tend to refer to male Ranma as Ranma-kun and female Ranma as Ranma-chan. Others still go with "Ranko", under the pretext that this is the name Ranma came up with himself when hiding from his mother in his female form.
** The Nerima Wrecking Crew for the principle cast due to them causing as much damage as several natural disasters over the course of the series.
** [=MADM=] or "Martial Arts Death Machines", a term popularized by Usenet discussions during "who would win in a fight"-style threads.
