** Some fans of the wackier, less serious Problem Sleuth didn't take kindly to Homestuck's more plot-driven storylines.

Natter, Conversation On The Main Page, Example Indentation. Leaving the point that this was originally addressing because I have seen some of that reaction in the past, but fixing it as it is a bit outdated.
* ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'' has had this charge levied at it a number of times. One of the most notable examples is the reaction to the "[[LowerDeckEpisode Hivebent]]" arc, which shifted focus away from the main characters at a [[CliffHanger point of high dramatic tension]] to develop a [[GeodesicCast large group]] of internet trolls, who had for the most part had either secondary roles or not appeared at all. Part of the complaint stems from the fact that opposed to the [[AngstWhatAngst fairly subdued]] main characters, the trolls spend much of their time [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder killing each other]], [[LoveDodecahedron making out]], or [[{{Wangst}} crying about either of the above.]] ** The main complaints of the Hivebent arc are that it caused a ''massive'' fanbase shift, and early adopters had to deal with suddenly being outnumbered 4:1 by a crowd that thought this was a comic about trolls and their funny human friends.

** More recently, some people have been feeling this for the two UU/uu siblings after the reveal, especially with the initial shock. [[spoiler:The new trolls aren't trolls, but they're called Cherubs? They look like Lord English, really ugly! RUINED FOREVER]] Most people think [[spoiler:Calliope]] is cute, however, so this may not be the case. *** (Less Ruined. It's not a strawman-cute story, it's an ORIGIN STORY. But still rotted; please delete this when you have a better explanation)
