1	* Pretty much any webcomic that has CerebusSyndrome will elicit this reaction from old fans.
2	* Many claimed that ''Webcomic/CtrlAltDel'' Jumped The Shark after [[ConvenientMiscarriage Lilah's Miscarriage]], pretty much since the day it happened. Then again, since half the people complaining never liked the strip in the first place, it's hard to tell if that was really the strip's actual fans that felt that way, and the notoriety of the storyline seems to have just given them something specific to vent their rage on.
3	** As a minor note, the strips in question were complained about for having possible CerebusSyndrome material mixed in, which is not a good junction to be at.
4	* For a while, the ''Webcomic/GunnerkriggCourt'' fandom had a distressing tendency to project that the future of the comic would be exactly the same as the latest page or two, and then use this as the basis to declare that they didn't like the new direction the comic was taking. In every case, said "new direction" was more like a brief detour. For example:
5	** Some fans complained about post-Chapter-14 Annie CharacterDevelopment ... upon seeing the very first page of Ch 15.
6	** Some fans complained that the brief "VideoGame/MetalGear Theater" interlude was a sign that the comic was descending into a mess of [[DadaComics Dadaist nonsense]] and pop-culture references.
7	** Note that any such comments should be taken with a grain of salt since most of the comments tend to be a bit on the snarky side.
8	** Quite a few people vowed to stop reading Gunnerkrigg Court when Kat was confirmed [[spoiler:gay/bi]] and went to great lengths to affirm that they didn't see it coming.
9	* While there is a fair amount of disagreement about exactly when or why ''Webcomic/DominicDeegan'' [[JumpingTheShark Jumped The Shark]], be it the ''Super Greg'' arc, the vacation arc, or the ''[[ArcFatigue March on Maltak]]'' arc, a consensus seems to be that the comic was Ruined Forever by Mookie's [[DracoInLeatherPants characterization of Siegfried]] after his death and transformation into a demon lord's servant and has only gone downhill since then.
10	* ''{{Webcomic/Erfworld}}'' is promptly Ruined FOREVER whenever anything that seemingly violates the rules of the setting occurs on the grounds that it's a Deus Ex Machina, or whenever the tide seems to turn unexpectedly against the [[VillainProtagonist "good guys"]].
11	* Ruthlessly parodied in ''Webcomic/{{Shortpacked}}''. Poor Ethan is constantly being confronted by obsessive toy fans crying "It's ruined forever!" over the most trivial things.
12	* ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'':
13	** One of the most notable examples is the reaction to the "[[LowerDeckEpisode Hivebent]]" arc, which shifted focus away from the main characters at a [[CliffHanger point of high dramatic tension]] to develop a [[GeodesicCast large group]] of internet trolls, who had for the most part had either secondary roles or not appeared at all. Part of the complaint stems from the fact that opposed to the [[AngstWhatAngst fairly subdued]] main characters, the trolls spend much of their time [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder killing each other]], [[LoveDodecahedron making out]], or [[{{Wangst}} crying about either of the above.]] It caused a ''massive'' fanbase shift, and early adopters had to deal with suddenly being outnumbered 4:1 by a crowd that thought this was a comic about trolls and their funny human friends.
14	** Earlier and more generally, anything perceived as a [[{{Railroading}} step away from reader-driven content]] got some measure of this.
15	** Some people have been feeling this for UU/uu after the reveal, especially with the initial shock. [[spoiler:The new trolls aren't trolls, but they're called Cherubs? They look like Lord English, really ugly! RUINED FOREVER]]
16	** The several hiatuses after Act 6 started got a ''lot'' of this, especially since they seemed to get longer and longer after important plot developments. [[note]]The delays were mainly related to VideoGame/{{Hiveswap}}'s [[TroubledProduction extremely prolonged production cycle]] and getting the remaining Flash animations and Act 7's {{Animesque}} cel animation completed, but it didn't matter: RUINED.[[/note]]
17	** Act 7 only wrapped up a few of the ''many'' dangling plot points, only showed a glimpse of the [[spoiler:new universe]], and ended up [[VoodooShark raising more questions than it answered?]] RUINED FOREVER! GIVE US THE REST OF IT OR ELSE! [[note]]You should BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor...[[Literature/TheHomestuckEpilogues you might]] [[Webcomic/HomestuckBeyondCanon get it.]] [[/note]]
18	** Some fans of the wackier, less serious Problem Sleuth didn't take kindly to Homestuck's more plot-driven storylines.
19	* Depending on whom you ask, ''Webcomic/PennyAndAggie'' was Ruined FOREVER when:
20	** It began to tell stories about characters other than Penny, Aggie, Karen and Marshall.
21	** It began to feature arcs that were [[ArcFatigue more than a few weeks long]], or that [[OutOfGenreExperience strayed from the usual teen dramedy genre]].
22	** It attained CerebusSyndrome during either "[[Recap/PennyAndAggieVertigo Vertigo]]," "[[Recap/PennyAndAggieThePopsicleWarWhispersAndSilence Whispers and Silence]]" or "[[Recap/PennyAndAggieMissingPersonCyndiAndCharlotte Cyndi and Charlotte]]."
23	** Penny and Aggie went from [[FireForgedFriends enemies to close friends]].
24	** Founding artist Gisèle Lagacé left and Jason Waltrip replaced her.
25	** [Insert preferred character] was PutOnABus.
26	** Characters other than Sara [[CastFullOfGay came out of the closet]].
27	** Penny and Aggie [[spoiler:[[RelationshipUpgrade became a couple]]]].
28	* Sometime when ''Webcomic/{{Zoophobia}}'' [[ScheduleSlip stopped updating regularly]], it suddenly became ruined forever in the eyes of some fans and critics, not unlike what would later happen with ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse''. All of a sudden, the once-praised art, characters, and story started getting criticized to hell and back. It got to the point where [[OldShame even the author was starting to agree]], and she scrapped the comic to pursue other projects. She does have plans to reboot it in the future, so time will tell if it will become "ruined forever" again when that happens.
