* PullingOutScarvesTrick: Ranma's last attempt at taking a homemade scarf from a Jizō statue ends up with him finding himself grabbing a never-ending stream of silky clothing, no part of which resembles the scarf he's trying to take away from the Jizō statue in question.
-->'''Cologne''': I don't think it's ever going to give up that scarf.

* NotHowImDyingDeclaration: Ranma's enemies, eager to claim the lead as Romeo in ''Theatre/RomeoAndJuliet'', [[NoKillLikeOverkill go to extreme measures to stop Ranma from participating]]. But, as Ranma himself puts it:
--> '''Ranma:''' Did you really think sealing me in concrete and burying me in the yard was even going to slow me down?!

Trope was cut/disambiguated due to cleanup, commented out Pay Evil Unto Evil for lacking concrete examples

* PayEvilUntoEvil: Only very occasionally as most of it is KickTheSonOfABitch. Ranma himself tries to do this, usually directing his hate towards people who should be hated. But the keyword is ''tries''.

* TheMomVoice: Kasumi actually telegraphs that she's going to use a "Mom" voice when she lectures Akane after Akane accidentally knocks out their father during a sparring session, saying, "I want you to listen to me as though I were our own departed mother." She then tells Akane to never strike anyone in anger again, and when Akane tries to protest, Kasumi calls out her name sternly, "AKANE!" Akane makes the promise, but doesn't manage to keep it long when Ranma presses one of her {{Berserk Button}}s.

* MermaidingSwimsuit: One mini-story has Principal Kuno trying to teach [[SuperDrowningSkills Akane]] to swim. One of the things he comes up with is giving Akane a motorised mermaid tail swimsuit. It doesn't help whatsoever.

* QuirkyDoctor: Dr. Tofu Ono, the local medical practitioner, is good at his job; the "quirky" part comes out whenever his crush, Kasumi is around. Tofu goes so crazy over her, that he does crazy things like dance around with his model skeleton "Betty." In this state, he can even hurt his patient, like when he broke Ranma's neck or shredded a notebook needed to cure Akane's amnesia.

* PervertAlliance: The Chemistry Club unites under the banner of making Akane Tendo theirs by trying to set land mines to blow Ranma to bits during his duel with Ryoga. They fall victim to their own trap, while Ranma is unscathed.

trope got cut

* PandaingToTheAudience: Genma's isn't above using the cuteness of his panda form to try avoid responsibilities. In the earlier arcs of the manga, he even had a tendency to appear out of nowhere and randomly save Ranma's from having people discover his curse. This is part of the AbortedArc to keep Ranma's curse a secret.

Added DiffLines:

* MartialArtistsAreAlwaysBarefoot:
** Soun Tendo and Genma Saotome are constantly shoeless, which is fitting enough considering they are martial arts masters who are almost always dressed in gi. Of the two, only Soun has the sense to wear ''geta'' when going out to the street. Early manga and anime at least showed Genma (in panda form) wiping his feet with a washcloth before coming into the house again.
** Tatewaki Kuno is shoeless whenever wearing his traditional kendo uniform -- that is, most of the time.

* OpportunisticVendors: Downplayed. One RunningGag for Ukyo Kuonji and the Nekohanten crew is that wherever they go they try to peddle their food to the locals. However, it is not that they are exploiting the chaos so much as they are the ''cause'' of the chaos.

Added DiffLines:

* ThePowerOfPotential: Some chapters show characters using magical objects to unlock their true potential, allowing them to give Ranma a CurbStompBattle to show their newer powers. Since Ranma is a SoreLoser when it comes to fighting, he works hard to get rid of the potential enhancing objects so that he can remain the strongest between him and his rivals.
** One chapter has Ryoga having a seal written in his stomach that allows him to use his full potential to give Ranma multiple defeats, even in his cursed form as a little piglet. The drawback is that the mark is a silly face painted in his stomach, which makes Ryoga feel self-conscious. He only gets rid of the mark by bending his body to distort the mark, allowing Ranma to defeat him with a mallet strike.
** Another chapter has Akane smell an incense that puts her to sleep until spring. However, Akane has lucid dreams that causes her to act odd in class. Ranma tries to restrain Akane to prevent her from being hurt, but she easily knocks him away from her with martial arts. Apparently, being asleep allows Akane to use her full potential, making her stronger than Ranma until she wakes up.

* MeetTheCelebrityContest: Played with. This was the result, but not the expectation of Ranma when he tried out for the part of Romeo in a school play. He was told they would have a chance to "see China". Only in this case, the "China" in question was an old actor who used "China" as his stage name, not the nation with the cursed training grounds Ranma was hoping to return to for a cure.
