Hello. My name is Rocksmasher. And I am someone who enjoys tropes. I found this page years ago and reading the tropes made me enjoy games, movies, and shows as I slowly recognize that some of the tropes that I saw existed and had their own pages.

Tropes about me:

  • Brutal Honesty: If I don't like something, I am very open about it. I do try to moderate how brutal I am to avoid drama or conflict.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: I am not the most social person, but I can be a great friend after I get to know others.

Tropes that I like:

  • The Ace: Part of what makes a hero a hero is their ability to be good at many things. I see them as role models to motivate people into becoming better.
  • Action Girl: As Spike from Cowboy Bebop said, I like girls who can kick my ass. Considering how males hog the action scenes for themselves, I like it when a female gets to shine.
  • Battle Couple: I really like seeing a romantic couple being able to kick ass together rather than one being the fighter and the other just a Satellite Love Interest at best or a Damsel in Distress at worst.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: There is something badass about watching a character beat super powerful foes using nothing but martial arts to win their fights.
  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: I am a furry with a foot fetish, so I like furry characters walking around with their paws on the open.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: I always loved it when a single act of kindness earns the loyalty of another character. It's a reason why I love humanizing moments like this.
  • Boxing Battler: As someone who grew up in Mexico, I have a fondness for boxing for the way it's an effective fighting style despite only using the upper half of the body.
  • Broken Ace: As much as I like ace characters, I like it when works point out that they have character flaws or mental issues because it makes them more human, allowing the audience to relate to them.
  • Cool Sword: I like swords, especially if they are sharp or possess magic.
  • The Dragon: I always loved the second in command of the Big Bad because they do most of the dirty work in stories, to the point where one things that they are the true antagonist of the story.
  • Extremity Extremist: It's quite cool to see fighters having perfect body control by only using their arms or legs to fight.
  • Foot Focus: I know that this is now an index rather than a trope, but I do have an attraction to barefoot females. That being said, I can list some of the tropes from the index.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Brawling is the original martial arts, so I like it when a character can still kick ass despite not having formal training.
  • Kick Chick: I like it when a female character specializes in kick fighting martial arts.
  • Knightly Sword and Shield: I always have a preference for knights using swords and shields. You can thank Link for my preference.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: I love seeing wizards and witches use martial arts to fight when they can't use magic. This was one of my reasons why Wuya was one of my favorite characters in Xiaolin Showdown.
  • Magic Knight: Though I love knights, I like it when they are able to use magic as well, as it creates the ultimate heroes in a fantasy novel.
  • Weapon Of Choice: I like how a character's fighting style and personality can be decided based on the weapons that they wield.
  • World of Badass: A perfect setting for those who like action movies like myself. I love it because even the weakest character can still amaze the audience by doing something awesome.

Tropes that I hate:

  • All the Other Reindeer: I don't like it when people are unfairly ostracized and then the story has them trying to get acceptance.
  • Becoming the Mask: Nothing ruins a villain character than when they pull off a Heel–Face Turn because they like pretending to be friends with their enemies.
  • Bullying a Dragon: I don't like it when characters bully a strong character, especially if they know they're strong and dangerous. I never feel any pity when they eventually get their asses kicked by those they tormented.
  • Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male: I used to be a fan of slapstick, but now I grow tired of females, abusing male characters when they get mad at them, especially if they are friends or family. I see this thing so much that I already got tired of them.
  • If You Kill Him, You Will Be Just Like Him!: I always hate how people try to enforce the Thou Shall Not Kill Aesop by pointing out that you will sink low if you kill a murderer. I don't see Batman turning worse if he were to kill Joker. Furthermore, it's downright stupid to let serial killers live, especially in settings where they escape to continue their rampage.
  • In Love with the Mark: I always hated how villains fall in love with the people that they are supposed to kill. Not only is unrealistic, but it also makes the relationship feel weird because of how it started.
  • Naked People Are Funny: Naked shenanigans are nothing more than a poor attempt at fanservice and a good way to make things lose momentum by making a gag about it. Gray Fullbuster and his disrobing started to annoy me after a while.
