* The Gingerbread Man's torture (being dunked in a glass of milk) is played for laughs...but the implication there is that Farquaad was going to ''eat him alive'', piece by piece, until he talked. Hell, even the fact that he broke Gingie's legs off while Gingie was still alive and conscious is horrific. Imagine this happening in a life-action film to a human being--it'd be torture horror on the level of ''Franchise/{{Saw}}.''

* In the Spinoff ''WesternAnimation/PussInBoots'' There's Also Jack And Jill's Pigs which has Glowing red eyes and they're significantly terrifying (Except for the Baby Ones which were Cute.)

** Sadly, this means children aren't getting to see Extremely Fluffy Donkey goofs (every bit of his fuzz sticks straight out from his body to a length of about four feet... talk about Nightmare Fuel Retardant!

* How has anyone not mentioned the infamous creepy-as-hell video: "Shrek is love, Shrek is life", which has had many sequels parodying the titular shrek movies ( the fourth one is called shrek is love, shrek is life 4ever after). These videos have been taken down several times as ordered by Dreamworks but somehow always manage to return to Youtube.
