** Series/MoonKnight2022: Even though Marc Spector and Steven Grant are clearly devoted to their wife Layla, Marc's efforts to push her away and keep her at arm's length results in Steven assuming a lot of the story duties a love interest typically would in her place, especially since he's a meek NonActionGuy who is initially kept out of the dark as to Marc's superhero activities, traits typical of civilian love interests to superheroes. Steven provides an emotional bedrock for the troubled Marc, while Marc tries his hardest to keep Steven separate from his dangerous life as a crimefighter, resulting in their relationship being the most intimate of the ones shown onscreen.

*** In Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar, while Steve has more interactions with Sharon Carter, including some clear sexual tension between them which was somewhat resolved with TheBigDamnKiss early on, his primary motivation and catalyst for his actions is again, Bucky Barnes, who, by this point, is cemented as the second most important character in the Captain America films, after Cap himself. Steve is so loyal and devoted to Bucky that he's willing to split up the Avengers, become a fugitive, desecrate his name and legacy, and more-or-less take on the entire world for him. Natasha and Sam also reprise their roles in this film as well, with Natasha proving Steve emotional support at Peggy's funeral (thus the literal rather than the trope form of ComfortingTheWidow) and particularly Sam, who quickly engages in a semi-friendly rivalry with Bucky that feels an awful lot like interactions between one's first and second wives.

The two address each other as "brother" and "sister", although, this doesn't stop the shippers since they're NotBloodSiblings.

Established as Kyril's stalwart, longtime companion, the Doll is responsible for levelling him up during the Night of the Hunt in Yharnam, as well as [[spoiler:his eventual caretaker after his EldritchTransformation]]. Primarily serving as his confidant in the story, Kyril sees her as the one person he could be totally comfortable with, something that his suitors find difficulty in doing. He worries that the Doll might be lonely staying in the Dream by herself, Irony despite being a solitary person himself, and his P.O.V. indicates that he owes her a debt that he would spend the rest of his life paying. ** Lily also counts as one to Kyril. Contemporary media always has TheChick be a LoveInterest to TheHero / TheLeader in a FiveManBand, with or without some RescueRomance thrown in the mix. In The Night Unfurls, Lily becomes Kyril's third apprentice after being rescued from captivity and rape. She would later play the Affable Subordinate to Kyril's Aloof Leader, as well as gradually developing a MyMasterRightOrWrong attitude to him. Nevertheless, the two have zero romantic interest towards each other.
