In the end, Touma didn't realize it was an actual date despite that Aiho dressed herself with a stunning dress, not even wearing a ponytail as she unusually did in order to look more feminine. While one would assume Touma's denseness as definitive by the end of the chapter, it also could be a self-defense measure on his part to avoid misfortune screwing with his life.
