Actually, I have no idea why I set out to compare her to Fury in the first place.

But it just so happens that for a long time, colonial command seemed to have kicking Arnold in the guts as a pleasant hobby. Despite growing up in a family with a dead mother, and a suicidal father, he did his best to comfort his sister, and at the age of 15, joined the Army and fought the French in the name of the King. Despite his evident competence and personal bravery, the rebels consistently promoted younger, less experienced men with better political connections instead, other officers consistently taking the credit for his accomplishments. When he made the decision to re-join the Government's Army, the rebels' provisional government (the 'Continental Congress') was investigating him on (baseless) accusations of corruption and had just accepted the King of Frances offer of an alliance. This final step by the leaders of a rebellion supposedly based upon meritocracy and republicanism, Benedict Arnold renounced his treason and re-declared his allegiance to his country and his monarch. Thanks to King Louis, the colonies were successful in their rebellion and eventually came to found a Eagleland nation in which all schoolchildren are taught to hate him for leaving his treasonous comrades to side with the government.
